This game made me SO MAD as a kid. I was expecting the arcade sound track too, and at the time this one pissed me off so bad. Now I can appreciate it though. Just played through the game on my C64 mini - with cheats, of course. This game is hard!
Such a brilliant tune. C64 music should be much more historically recognized as a genre of electronic music that helped pave the way for, shape, and influence modern most others...
Aha!, so this is it. Was having some conflicting issues with my memory and hearing the NES version and Amiga version of this. C64 is the definitive and best version :)
I love the music on here the best of all of the versions, but I think the gameplay was better on the Game Boy Color version. It was smoother, the jump button wasn't up, and it didn't have the weird momentum thing that made it infuriating to jump over the gravestones in the first level.
Only rich kids got an Amiga, middle-class kids has the C128 D and the paupers had C64's... but the Amiga-kids generally didn't have anybody to trade games with and couldn't copy them! Suckers!
This game was only tolerable in small bursts and even then I only play it for the music and the relatively impressive graphics (for its time and system). I don't even know if it's possible to get past the first screen of level 2 or if the C64 version of this game is just broken. Either way, the music is freaking awesome.
...Broken thing are the bugs related with the final bosses...those big Ogres, (u'could pass right thru'them), only their "bullets" were lethal! It's quite possible to finish the game without cheating, I finished it a couple of times myself on the org. C64. But it is quite difficult, indeed. The music & graphics were good...especially the 2015 remake by Nostalgia: Ghosts 'N Goblins Arcade.
@@Kiatrasi ,,gET tHe KnIFe¡’’ Edit: This... Came off really asshole-ish, I'm very sorry. I was just imagining AVGN with a vibrato filter put over his voice.
I wish there was a sonic & sega all-stars style remix that was made up of both this song and the original main theme, with the accents of the demon's crest theme added for an extra zing!
True story - I genuinely thought this was a dynamic / adaptive track as the beat seemed to kick in just as I got hit and lost my armour and I thought it was the game ‘ramping up the tension’
As others have noted, it is based on Chopin's Prelude Op.28 No.20 in C Minor. So is "Could It Be Magic" by Barry Manilow (made popular by Donna Summer and Take That).
I just noticed. The bloody c64 had better graphics (and music) than undertale. Let that sink in. Minecraft, 2009, does retropixel right. Undertale's retropixel sucks. Plus, undertale's OST is a bunch of repetitive dreck, just like the commercials on Coast to Coast AM. I like Coast to Coast AM, but the commercial/ad breaks are unbearably long. I've seen Atari games that look better than undertale.
When the tune changes at 0:31 you know you're already dead. 30s is the average time how long a playthrough of this game lasted.
ahahahahah so true! :D
Just before the tune change, you heard the horn-like shriek from that bloody-red bird... and you were already dead!!
UA-cam needs to have a "most accurate comment ever" award.
Yep. The first 31 seconds became repetitive. lol
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA
This game was bloody hard on every system you played it on!
No mercy back in the day!
This was released in 2015
@@LarsTragel-zh7ei THe only somewhat playable version ison the SNES. The arcade version was just plain unfair. Fucking flying demon lol.

Such an iconic classic.

Is there an actual remix for it?
Chopin, really?
Everyone is immortal,
until they start running around in their undies to avoid being turned into bones.
omg, it is based on chopin's prelude in c minor.
Yeah man, people should know! Thumb up this guy
@Kevin Chin -- Nice catch, mate!
That's great!
Dude, I didn't even notice that!
mindblown! thanks :)
0:38 . If Chopin knew that his piece would inspire such a cool beat... he'd be dancing in his grave.

i love this song, remind me my childhood, thanks for share.
Man i looked after this theme since my 5 years old and i finaly found it today at 43!!!!!!! Thanks guy > LOOP MODE!
I loved C64 music. Still do.
The beginning might be Chopin's Prelude in C Minor, but from 1:32 onwards IT IS A TANGO.
everytime i play any Dark Souls series game i think to myself "damn this is HARD" then i remember this game suddenly "this game is easy mode" hahaha
The tune starting at 1.30 sounds to me quite similar to “ Dangerous dreams”. composed in 1975 by Klaus Wunderlich
Such a classic
This game changed my childhood.. from an innocent boy to the incredible hulk 😡 IT IS SO DAMN HARD.
I love this shit man...
0:31 It turns into Michael Jackson’s “I’m Bad.”
I ain’t Gonna True😂
No actually the beginning turns into "she bop" by cyndi lauper

At 0:38 that industrial element kicks in... but the only thing being made in this factory is human tears.

Everyone who hasn't listened to this sucks. This song is too awesome.

I was so crap at this game that I didn't even know the song looped. My games were always over before 3 minutes and 50 seconds had passed.

Omg! Actual commodore 64 music >:)
Wish that Fastloaders would do this one!

the oc remix of this song from instant remedy is insane and amazing, it is great to hear the original too.
This song slapped before songs had the ability to slap.

And then you get to 121 on the tape deck counter and the dreaded blue screen appears.......syntax error ! Kids today don't know they're born !
I’ll be honest; I’m here just for Grezzo Due (I’m also italian!) and I love the Trance version included in the game from OC Remix!

If Arthur becomes a Smash DLC, I hope this song gets included as a remix.

Yeah and there were no save points either so if you got killed you would have to go back to the start again which was so annoying
