The percentage of air pollution caused by individuals in cars equates to only 7% of all global pollution. If industry stopped polluting then the "planet is saved" and us folk in cars trying to live a life can be left alone.
I read somewhere that if every ICE was off the road it would reduce global emissions by something like 14%. Equally, I also read that there are around 15 corporations/ entities around the World that collectively produce more than 50% of all global carbon emissions. These entities include the Chinese and Indian states, and the corporations include some of the largest oil companies. What the UK can do through switching to EVs barely scratches the surface. We obviously have to make improvements in every way possible, but the direction of travel from ICE to EV is far from a universal solution, and the speed with which we have set out to do it, especially in UK with 2030 vs most others aiming at 2035, is just so obviously flawed in both thinking and execution. It’s time for something that successive governments have failed to do and that is to have an honest, informed conversation about this topic, so we make some sensible judgements that we can all get behind. The govt completely underestimate the strength of feeling around the motor car, as one of the most democratising inventions we have ever had, and the fact is that most of us invariably end up voting with our feet by making decisions which make sense to us, rather than doing things because we were told it was what we should do. Especially when that ‘telling’ is by is a govt displaying how little subject matter expertise is going into some really impactful decision-making
Going to be interesting as they have said EV going forward for 718 platform. I think these 4.0 cars will go down as one of the best engines ever. Looking forward to driving my 4RS next week seeing how it drives.

Your GT3's will be the last ones prior to them fitting hybrid systems to them. Sales numbers of EV's will always focus on vehicles that are on fleet lease hire or pre registered by dealer cars made to be demonstration or put straight on as used cars. Private buyers are non existent for the EV market.

Tv license is set to rise again yet the fee for an MOT test for cars has been set at £54.85 since 2010, and it hasn't increased to match the rising expenses involved in providing this essential service. Garages even charge less to get the work. Given the rising costs of wages, materials, equipment, and utilities, it makes sense that a fee adjustment would help ensure the sustainability of quality testing services and fair compensation for testers and or garage owners.

As a tester myself I've had first hand experience with all the changes because of EVs, Hydrogen and hybrid vehicles not to mention all the changes to the manual and as a result of energy and wage increases my boss is struggling. So spare a thought for the people who's job it is to keep your car safe!

Considering getting a Tesla model y as it now suits my circumstances, moved to a new house with availability to charge at home, do you think this is a good move with the way things seem to be going regarding ICE engines seemingly hanging around a good while longer?
I think if EV can work for your lifestyle its fine, maybe just hold and see secondhand values in January. I also see some car companies have solid state battery tech next year, so you need be buying at low values with your EV purchase now with older battery tech.
The thing that would worry me, is if Elon keeps lowering prices of new vehicles. This takes a huge chunk of value out of your used example overnight, thus putting you in negative equity on your finance. I couldn't afford to take that risk.
You need to get in at a low price, understanding it will go even lower. Although with home charging you could save quite a bit on fuels etc over time. Going to be an interesting 2025

Here's a thought. If nearly all car manufacturers are basically saying they can't reach Gov EV targets. If they all decide not to pay the Gov fines for selling non EV cars, what can the Gov do? Basically car companies have a choice, aim for impossible targets and go bankrupt or continue as normal and ignore fines, or increase the price of cars by 20k which will reduce sales by a large percentage. What's your thoughts on this?

It used to knock 15% straight away on the range with the Audi!

I had one……4.0 GTS fecking amazing car… however aquaplaned that at 70 miles an hour 😮😮 so 911 Carrera 4 is my option now
