Bruce Dickinson - Son Of A Gun - Jackson JS11

- I haven't played this song in a while. The $150 Jackson JS11 is holding up quite nicely 3 years after buying it! The stock Jackson pickups are excellent for 80's rock and metal!
'Son Of A Gun' is from Bruce Dickinson's 1990 album 'Tattooed Millionaire' and is written by Bruce Dickinson and Jannick Gers.
SIGNAL CHAIN:
GUITAR: Jackson JS11 'Dinky' - $150 at zZounds.com and other retailers. This guitar is fully STOCK. And, at $150, it's a STEAL! It plays so well and sounds so great! Contrary to the claims of Gear Snobs and Cork Sniffers, it hasn't fallen apart in a year and it's NOT firewood. I've owned this guitar since Spring 2019.
AMP: My PC with Behringer UMC22 U-Phoria USB Interface
AMP SIM: Guitar Rig 5 Pro with "Soldano 80s Lead 1" preset I made

LYRICS:
Holy was the preacher.
Riding on his rig of steel in the rising sun.
This was no grim reaper.
But a man with a smile who took a pride in a job well done.
Ohh in a blood red sunrise.
He's preaching conversion as you lay down and die.
Just a god given holy roller.
In a god forsaken land.
He didn't choose this killing ground.
He didn't want this scrap of land.
You've got to scorch the earth, yeah.
and make the rivers run dry.
Untill we learn to hate like him.
Kill for killin'. Live to die.
[Chorus:]
Ride on you son of a gun.
Ride on. Ride into the setting sun.
Ride on you son of a gun.
Ride on you son of a gun.
Ride on. Ride into the setting sun.
Ride on you son of a gun.
You've gotta be a hero, for one last time.
To prove through your destruction.
That killing is a great way of life.
There's a wooden cross somewhere.
Where they'll bury you down deep.
You lie to your people, You lie to yourself.
Your in love with death babe.
You've got no shame.
[Chorus]
The preacher laughed. The preacher cried.
He loaded bullets as he smiled.
Congregation sat and wondered.
Would they live or would they die.
Just an ordinary man, with his orders and his plans.
In the shadows of a cross.
Oh in a blood red sunrise.
Take me to jesus, with judas my guide.
[Chorus]
Ride on your bleeding heart.
Ride on you play no part.
Ride on you feel no pity.
Ride on you feel no pain.
Ride into history.

Thank you, brother! Not bad for a $150 guitar, huh? haha! Elitist morons can look down their noses at budget guitars all they want. But, it's all about the carpenters' skill and not the price of the tools they use. 😎👍
Excellent my friend, you are talented...very good guitare technique 🤟😎🎶🎶
Thank you very much! That's very kind of you to say! I appreciate it! 👍😎👍🎶🎶
Awesome tune ...Iron Maiden for years were my favorite. Them and Floyd were my faves. Along with Rush and Primus growing up. Excellent cover man!!! Sounds amazing!!!!

@@therocknrollguitarlounge7057 I met a bunch of celebrities and rock stars during the decades. It was a wild ride!
This is a fantastic guitar cover
Thank you, Amin!
Showing my ignorance again. I didn’t know Bruce Dickinson had a solo album, I thought he was just in Iron Maiden. But then again I only know one song of theirs. Guess I’m not very English after all.
Well, your old friends across the pond would say that you've been 'Americanized'. But, I look at it this way. Your musical experience has been more in the synth-pop and new wave stuff. So, it's no surprise that you wouldn't know as much about the hard rock stuff - any more than I could name the members of any UK glam rock band!
