I remember finding Khoa Le's channel here on YT with his animation showcase and he worked on MW2019 and I remember him discussing something like that in the comment's section
If you think about it, almost no one is going to be seeing the empty reload animations. Even if you actually run out of ammo in a match, you’ll probably just immediately switch to a new weapon rather than risk doing an inspect. The fact they put this much effort into something that’ll almost never be seen shows how much the IW animators love their job

I also noticed while playing that they actually animated the M4's Bolt Catch/Release popping out when you run the mag dry. I had to waste another mag checking.
This is actually really surprising, I don't think you've done a video on weapon inspects before. Also, I'm in love with those new empty weapon animations!
This is the first time I'm actually seeing every single finger being used in viewmodel animation. Like the operator holding the mag with his pinky for the pistol inspects. That's a rare sight. Also the depiction of usual operator empty checking drills, like racking the gun multiple times to check for rounds stuck in the chamber.
I think the empty animations are motion tracked (at least some of them). It would make sense because I would imagine it would be a lot easier to clean up motion tracking than make a whole new animation that is really never going to be seen. I also say this because of the sheer quality of the animation, it looks too real to not be. If I’m wrong then the animation team is off the charts amazing. Still incredible animations motion tracking or not.

Nice. They finally gave each of the guns an inspect animation for when they're empty, but they should have removed those chamber checks for the H&K guns.
The SO-14 is actually an M1A Scout Squad, which has an 18” barrel instead of a 16” barrel on the SOCOM-16 or a 21” barrel on the standard M14/M1A rifle.
I remember in GTA 4 where the guns didnt really have any moving parts (except the little black rectangle that popped out to symbolize the magazine being dropped) and now we got games like this where the guns probably have all the internals modelled as well 💀
@@posadist681 damn. I feel like the safety thing is kinda over-realism but thats a cool feature. little detail you missed, for the shotguns (all of them I think) if you have the no stock attachment, instead of grabbing the weapon like that, it will just look at it up an down (similar to the ak-74U) and then continue like normal
