Excellent video Martin. Phantom Manor is my favorite Haunted Mansion of all Disney Parks, and among one of my favorite rides at DLP . Too bad they didn’t stick to the Melanie / Bride art in the main room , or the first French narration
Kenna W when the park first opened, yes the narration was in English. But it was because of some legal issues with I think how the rides should have been primarily in its native language that caused Disney to archive Vincent Price’s narration for so long. @@kennaw7198 Originally yes, because they had gotten Vincent Price to do the english narration as the phantom, however when Vincent Price died, Disney had a hell of a time trying to get the permission from the Price estate in order to have his voice back in Phantom Manor, when they failed, they brought in Vincent Price's french dub voice actor in, but because the Price estate agreed as long as they got the royalties, Disney went back and added in both the french dub and Vincent Price's actual voice.

Ethan Walter I agree 100%. That was one of the things that actually did scare me when I went to Disneyland Paris when I was about 6 or 7 and rode this. I always thought this version of the Haunted Mansion is the far more superior (yes, even more so over the original in Anaheim. When they took it out and I caught it on video, I can’t tell you just how upset I was over the removal. That was one of the best parts of the ride hands down!
As much as I like the new changing portraits, the new lighting and drooling Goliath, I wish that Melanie and the Phantom were back to their original versions. Great video, anyway.
