Years ago a friend and me were riding through some woods and we looked up a side track and there was a naked women on the ground and a bicycle. We got out of there as fast as we could and my friends aunt called the police. The girl had been murdered and the man had tried to push her body on the bicycle into the woods to hide the body. It was all in the papers and scared us. We were much closer than it looks like you were but please, please be very carefull.

Holy crap. He appeared right after you passed that lady who was out walking alone. Big red flag there for him to be going in the same direction, pretending to need a walking stick, then to run away as soon as he sees you with your go cam. I honestly believe he might have been trying to target that woman. When he saw you two young girls riding alone, he probably figured he would try to target you guys instead. He was very wary of the camera, too. Please be careful! Don't ride alone and notify the police of this strange behavior!

You probably should report the incident to the local cops you never know it might be a sex offender who preys on riders you just don’t know. Thinking the worst of people - especially men behaving strangely in the way he was could save your life. By reporting the incident you can alert police to the presence of a potential predator it might save someone else if not yourself. Next time if something like this should happen ride a safe distance and call the cops that you are being followed by a man who when you first noticed him hid from you, then intercepted you and run after you. If he was just going for a walk he wouldn’t act like he did. Trust your instincts always. If a situation makes you uncomfortable run from it because something is wrong. Truly.

LOL Yes. Reminded me of my childhood horse when we first got her. The lady who raised her had a large piece of property on the outskirts of a mid-sized town so it wasn't really "rural" but they were grandfathered in for livestock and such. When we moved my horse out to country where we lived (dirt roads and all) she'd never really seen cows. Every time we passed a pasture for the first few months, she had to stop and stare at the "really fat horses" or "humongous dogs" for a few minutes.

When you started to ride away, he thought he could catch you but luckily you were at a place where you could canter. Good luck him trying to keep up with that! A man jumped out in front of us completely starkers, after the initial shock we all started laughing and trotted off, but as we entered the fields we found a bundle of clothes beside the track. My friend jumped off and grabbed them, once at home my mum called the police and he was picked up almost where we had seen him, still starkers. His running and looking behind seemed kind of stressing and I would say to return without horses or call the police. His behavior is mysteriously and knowing out of my past job can those things mean a lot. Your horse seems trained pretty well so I couldn't see how it was reacting on camera when you stood at the place in front of the woods. If your horse felt unsure going in, then is there a high chance of smth going rlly wrong in there

I agree... all the people in the comments were throwing the 'HE WAS A RAPIST' out there, but his movements showed distress over "oh no, I've been caught." I'm leading to believe that he had a horse phobia, or he had a mental illness. Just cause he had a walking stick then suddenly bolted doesn't mean he _needed_ it for walking. He could have just been using it like normal people do to make sure the ground is sturdy in front of them. Several of those areas looked awfully muddy. The sad fact is, if someone is in fight or flight mode, even with disabilities (I know, I have several mobility ones) when your body is suddenly hyped up on Adrenaline, those limitations become harder to notice. He may have seriously regretted running away after they passed. Hell, he could have been mute, and had a phobia of horses. You never know. It's really bizarre behavior sure, but when people are scared and confused, logic and common sense doesn't exist.

I love how so many drivers are so polite to riders in the UK! My dad has a house in the countryside (in Warwickshire) and whenever I go there I go trail riding a few times at a local place. The vast majority of cars know to slow down or stop when they see horses. In Australia people just have no idea! They see the horse & rider sign on the side of the road but for the most part have noooo idea what slowing down around horses means - they think the sign just means "watch out for horses and riders" but don't understand how easily horses can spook. I had to tell my dad off once when we drove past a rider because he slowed down a little bit but no where near enough. He just didn't know. I love how much safer you can feel riding on roads in the UK and I especially love the sheer amount of bridle trails that go all the way through the country. It's easy to see why there's such a big 'hacking' culture there. And walking through 10 minutes through a farm to the local pub is great! (The alternative is drive 10 mins AROUND the farms!) In Australia on the other hand, all the farms are fenced off, and while there are trails around you have to make sure you either agist your horse near them or have a float if you plan on going out for regular hacks.

Especially if it's my mare 😅 she will bit hesitate to bite you if you come too close to me when I'm on (nothing's wrong with her ,she just gets really protective and tends to sense danger long before me so she's prepared to bite someone in the face if needed and run off ,she's a very 1 person horse ,she bond closely to one person and doesn't like getting ridden by others)

A friend and I were riding and two men tried pulling us off our horses. A third man on the other side of the river saw us a few minutes earlier and whistled what seemed to be a signal. Then up the trail the men came out of the trees. We easily got away but it was terrifying. Called the police and they did nothing. Turns out there was a big homeless encampment there.

Here in the US there's actually people who teach you to defend on horse back. My mom told me how to do some. One is simply, if someone grabs your reins, have your horse rear or go forward if they don't know how to rear. A friend of ours had to. Also quick question, why do people chop the mane off like that? I mean I ride western so maybe it's an English thing. But the mane is suppose to help keep flies off so why cut it off? I had many answers. One being to show all the head during shows. But I'm always wanting my horses to get long as possible lol

he is a cob & gets so itchy with it that he rubs his neck & caused a sore so we got rid of the mane☺️ also in the UK we don’t really need/wouldn’t use self defence as it is generally very safe as there are lots of people around because it’s such a small country so walking areas are busy❤️
