yeah ive tried both the jet city and the vox. I like the clean tone on the jet city more but the vox has a little more overdrive on tap. But by boosting the jet city with a good overdrive pedal, you can make up for the difference. I think im going to be picking up a jet city this weekend to go on a marshall 4x12
Egnater Tweaker > Vox Night Train! The Vox is really good, don't get me wrong, but the tweaker has way more tone shaping options, also sounds great, has an effects loop, and can power 2 cabs of any impedance, while the vox can only do a single 8 or 16. Plus it costs $100 less!
I have a bit of a dilemma on my hands... I'm torn between this, the Tiny Terror and the Blackheart Handsome Devil. I base much of my sound around effects and I play heavy music, so I need something that can get to high volumes, even with a 2x12. Any suggestions?
@StStu This ain't my favorite demo but I own a Night Train and it sounds badass. I run it thru a Weber Ceramic Blue Dog though, not that tiny Greenback loaded Night Train cab.
i have one of the first ones off the shelf and its brilliant.... can fault the little impressive bugger at all...... everyone of my mates who play bedroom or professionally love it and a few have borrowed it for the studio... i have 5 other amps ranging from 1968 ones to dsl 50 and its a main stable as an all rounder full tube amp
@thumbvideos123 this doesn't sound like high gain at all..it sounds like a tube amp being pushed into overdriven saturation, which is just a really thick and heavy crunch.
cheers guys.. i have a marshall head and a 1960av 4x12 cabin.. is that amp can be used with my marshall cabinet or i need to buy a new 1x or 2x12 to play with thx..
I have the blackstar ht-5. I like it alot better than I liked my tiny terror, and I also think it sounds better than the night train. By far, my Randall rm20 with an SL+ module blows all three away.
plz can some1 answer me i play gnr and ozzy style music is the nighttrain good for that? (better than Haze?) and alsocan some1 recommend a cheaper cab than the default one? but still decent souding?
So guys i have no idea about this amp but i know vox amps has really nice warm tone and i want to get this amp. But i'm some where between of vox night train or mesa 20/20 power amp. please throw me some advice thanks
@33LinesToWalk actually if you watch at 1:05 you'll see he's using the neck pickup...of course that would require more paying attention and less criticizing of Paul's playing...
I find his videos aren't great at getting the best tones...I own this amp (amongst others) and it sounds absolutely fantastic. This vid doesn't show the chimey sounds and low gain/on the verge of break up type sounds that really shine with this amp. Plus it's loud. As always, try b4 u buy :)

@cacguitarplayer I feel your pain :) I also lost the chance to buy a discontinued Epiphone Zakk Wylde Les Paul Custom Buzzsaw a couple days ago because of being broke :'(
amps reviewed in guitar world sound good and high gain in reviews, like in this one, but i went out and played into a nighttrain with my guitar EMG pickups and everything, but it's not high gain.
WTH? I just played this amp today. It sounded nothing like this. I played it through the matching 1x12 cab with Celestion Greenback 25. Sounded awesome. Couldn't find any bad tones. This guy has bad mojo with amp reviews. He has good technique but must be tone deaf.
@MetallicaFan1108 its not the amp, its just that paul has never heard of a neck pickup, and doesnt know that its possible to roll back on that little thing called a tone knob, poor paul.
@MetallicaFan1108 It's not the amp, I have one and sounds great, but this demo makes it sound like shit. You'll notice that any GuitarWorld reviews sound like shit, I don't know why, but all amps sound "tiny", and "fizzy", I don't know why, but they sure do make anything sound bad. Nothing against Paul, he is not the one doing the recording.
Good lord, i don't understand how these guys make all those amps sound so absolutely terrible! it must be sound engenier or something, no meat, just thin ear-torturing trebly grshhh
since i bought this head, ive never had a single problem, amazing
Still?
that first tone sounds sick!!! if i fiddled with the setting a bit more i would love it even more!
damn im lookin out for this one
@louisivano the one made for it, the vox nighttrain cab, its 1x12 with a greenback speaker.
That G Major Chord at the beginning blew me away!
That melody at 1:44 sounds wicked and the tone is perfect.
really nice demo!

Like to see/hear Vox - Jet City comparison. Vox is $200 more.
Has any body demo'd both?
ya kno i've been watchin reviews on this amp head and i see a different cab every time . what cab would be best for this little guy
@CryWahWah depends what the output on the your cab is. If it is 16 OHM or 8 OHM it should work. I think the 1960av is 16 or 4 OHM not sure though.

nice amp, good rock 'n' roll-y sound, i think ill pick it up, also love the clean tone

So do you need a speaker cab for this?
So is this multi channelled or is he using peddles for the distorted sounds?
Will this stay clean at gig volumes? And by clean, I mean clean.
cheers guys.. i have a marshall head and a 1960av 4x12 cabin.. is that amp can be used with my marshall cabinet or i need to buy a new 1x or 2x12 to play with thx..
now this amp sounds good

AMAZING AMP
this amp has balls!
i s that a little wear on that epi body paul?
i have this amp, it sounds good from country to the beatles to jimi hendrix to acdc to metallica
So guys i have no idea about this amp but i know vox amps has really nice warm tone and i want to get this amp. But i'm some where between of vox night train or mesa 20/20 power amp. please throw me some advice thanks

@coldflame333 it looks like an old epiphone judging by the dings around the edge
I find his videos aren't great at getting the best tones...I own this amp (amongst others) and it sounds absolutely fantastic. This vid doesn't show the chimey sounds and low gain/on the verge of break up type sounds that really shine with this amp. Plus it's loud. As always, try b4 u buy :)

not yet processed :(

wheres the cab?
anyone think a big muff pi would sound good through this?
well there's like 3 others where he uses the same Epi and wears a motley crue shirt...so i would assume they shoot alot at once
he's really liking that epiphone isn't he? unless they film many of these in one day... then that would make sense.
WTH? I just played this amp today. It sounded nothing like this. I played it through the matching 1x12 cab with Celestion Greenback 25. Sounded awesome. Couldn't find any bad tones. This guy has bad mojo with amp reviews. He has good technique but must be tone deaf.
i could get that exact same sound on my line 6 spider 3
portable quality n power
@freiture i think that too :P
can this be used at gigs? its the average rock band ya'know
enjoy.......................
@MetallicaFan1108 its not the amp, its just that paul has never heard of a neck pickup, and doesnt know that its possible to roll back on that little thing called a tone knob, poor paul.
@charles4hl can we prescribe you something?
i think it needs a bit of a bass boost.
why didnt the guy retake the bit over at 2:00 so many errors
wow...............
@andy474x except the Tweaker sounds like arse! Orange TT FTW
@gladiators2037 Probably only if it went through a PA.
The Tiny Terror is in turn a copy of Vox's old AC15 design. So who is copying who?
yes.............................
Not as much as you think, around $200 more. This and the Blackheart are the same.
Yeah you're probably right...
Now I am pretty sure, that in last year, you, GW, are going down with quality of sound recorded on reviews. Pitty...
@coldflame333 its epiphone... they are partnered with Gibson to make affordable guitars, its a great guitar just not the tone from the guy, calm down
1:48
is it just me or he keeps mentioning lyrics/playing some pretty close stuff to guns!?
"brAINTRAIN"
@bxplanbboi i don't think so.
i played this amp yesterday and it sounded awesome but it sounds like absolute shit in this video
@cacguitarplayer 499$
Hahahahhaha..HAHAHAHA! HA ha ha hohoho..Shoo.. Thank you for that.
lol

@kadane7777777 A triple rectifier + active pickups + dirty hair. But that's a joke, just like gay major chords...
hi........................
band.............................
This amp doesn't sound good. Remember that guitar world always gets the best possible sound(after mixing and processing) and the reality is brutal
Good lord, i don't understand how these guys make all those amps sound so absolutely terrible! it must be sound engenier or something, no meat, just thin ear-torturing trebly grshhh
is that a fake les paul????? look at the truss rod cover! sounds good nonetheless..
Nice hair. Just wake up?
tiny terror>this
probably
That was a tinny sounding piece of shit.
why is it Paul always has to play gay major chords
because he knew you would be watching
Absolutely don'get this amp. Try to test DV Mark Galileo 15, it sounds thousands times better than this chinese thing.
I think this amp sounds terrible, too much treble.
