Love the story about the Fuji project, the smoky woods shots were beautiful, but the Cuba video locked it out of the park. The little printer is a wonderful idea. Heck you probably sold a few of those for Fuji. My favorite shot was the B&W of the couple on the bike. I also appreciated the examples of how to photograph a car without photographing the car. Composition is mysterious in this way, so whatever you can do to help us understand it, is much appreciated. It would also be great if you could do more stories about projects like this one for Fuji. Good stuff!

16:06 “I wanna meet people, I wanna hear about their story, I wanna hear about what they’re doing, and the camera is the key to that. The camera is my passport. The camera let’s me into places and into peoples lives...” That quote pretty much sums it all up 😭❤️

Well...for a guy who did not have to many ideas about what to do, your pictures done with 3 strobes from Walmart and some smoke are pretty impressive.....That's where you see the difference between a real pro and us, you always find a way to create something from nothing.....you always have this "something" who gives a great result.

Hey Zack, the thing I like about your promotional videos is just that... you don't put the camera at the center of the video, but you put photography and the experience at the center. It's one of the reasons you're one of my favorite and inspirational photographers. I love your philosophy and it has definitely influenced me quite a bit. I probably won't be buying the X100V but I do have an X100S which I recently took out of the box (because of this video LoL), dusted off and went out and started taking photos. Primarily taking a shot at photojournalism. But street photography is definitely something that has interested me for a while now. I don't really have a question. I just wanted to say thank you and great job. Keep it up. Well, maybe I can ask how would you approach photojournalism with this camera?

As always, you have inspired me. I have been a follower of yours since the original X100, which I still have. I recently purchased the Canon Rp because I thought I really needed full frame. I traded away my Fuji XE-2 and severally lens. G.A.S got the best of me and now I regret it and miss my Fuji gear. I saw this video when it was first published by Fujifilm when they released the V, but rewatching it today really confirmed my idea that I don't need full frame and a bazooka of a lens to get the shots that make me happy; also the printer is going a must now too! Thanks, Zack keep up the great work!!

_"One great benefit of traveling with such a small camera is it's not intimidating at all when you pull this thing out. You're just somebody taking some photos with a little camera but the quality you get is equal to something that's much larger than this."_
I don't think you could've made a better video about the X100V because in your opening you nailed the superpower of the X100 series. I spent a couple of years wandering around Southeast Asia with a X100T and X-T1 and while as we all know the two cameras are very similar internally they're very different externally which can make a world of difference. Where people look at "professional" cameras with distrust people smile when they see a classic rangefinder like the X100V. I wandered through many wet markets with my X100T and no one ever gave me a second look. I wasn't a travel photojournalist to them, just another tourist. If you do another video about the X100V maybe you should build on what you've already seen as it's greatest strength: a wolf dressed-up as a friendly puppy. =)

I stopped shooting professionally a few years ago and now I really want to get back into the X100 just for the sheer fun of shooting again for myself without the pressure of following style guides and endless do's and don'ts handed with many projects. I had the X100 Black, a couple of the X100S', and it just didn't fit the bill for me after that but with all the updates and the fact I can now just shoot for me, I'm gonna get the X100V and just enjoy it!

What makes this video stand out is are the little stories about overcoming the challenges of the creative process. There is a honesty and vulnerably in the creative struggle, "another old guy taking a picture of a young girl." or "I don't have the camera gear" or "making friends with a case of beer and the instax." etc.
And what camera manufactures don't want anyone to know, it isn't a 'gear' problem but a "mentality" problem. I really enjoyed the video.

Have a Canon & lenses & as you say stuff & more stuff ... when I'm normally out I just take the Fuji with a Samsung phone backup as you say to allow me to live life & take pics, & not worry about being anything else. As a kid I was the one taking the pics & never in them but have always been at the edge of wonderful things with amazing people. So Fuji, just keep doing what you do so well, we will keep using it to live our lives.

Zack - I purely bought this camera because of the leaf shutter. When I want to travel light now, I don't have to lug around my two X-H1's with the 16-55 and 90mm and my Godox HSS flash. May you please make a video on how to maximise the potential of the leaf shutter with the built in flash for outdoor balanced fill flash. I only ever shoot people and street (zero interest in scenery or landscapes). I'd love to become really proficient in using this camera with the little flash, understand its capabilities a bit more and realise its full potential for daylight use. I know from your other vid's that you are the daylight fill flash king!!

Received the X100V not too long ago and am just getting used to it. The pandemic has put a bit of a hold on using it as much as I would like to. Interested in a couple of things: tips on using a fixed lens camera, esp the X100V as opposed to using a zoom and, most particularly, your thoughts on using the Fuji film simulations vs.shooting raw. Love taking photos, hate sitting at a computer editing. I know you are a professional with a lot of pros watching but I am interested in using strictly as a hobbyist with no professional pretensions, just wanting to take really good images. BTW, you are one of my favorite Fuji photographer You Tube Channels. Just want to give a shout out to other great Fuji-user channels: Andrew and Danae, Damian Brown in England and Omar Gonzalez here in the Garden State. I would be really cool to see you all, or some of you all, do some joint videos. Thanks!

Great Video, saw this with the other Fuji 100v Promos and thought "Yay, he's back",
I started following you on the Cheap Camera Challenge with Digital Rev 7 years ago and ... backstory warning ... you pretty much single-handedly dragged my love for photography back from the brink. I used to spend 10 hours straight taking B&W photos followed by 10 hours straight in the darkroom 30+ years ago. My trusty $100 Yashica FX3 went everywhere, manual focusing was second nature, the 3 light exposure meter (an upgrade!) served me perfect, manual flash was second nature, DOF preview was a natural process of popping the lock on the lens and unscrewing it. I look back at those photos with envy now and while there were a few failures, in the main, they were pretty accomplished. I was at school, I had loads of subjects to practice on, my confidence has never been so great since. That camera was stolen and after a succession of Minolta, Sony, Old Canon, Cheap Nikon, Expensive Canon, Very expensive Nikon again I never loved a single one of them, I was doing ok but really not enjoying it. My memory of so many events is looking through the lens and when that's no fun, my love affair was over.
You managed on that video 7 years ago to take some photos with a crappy camera (and flash) which I loved and I was reminded what it was all about. You say you're shy but your rapport with the people in the back streets is sublime (as it is with this video). I wanted to recreate that again ... Obviously, I completely ignored the cheap camera bit and found out what camera you shot with and bought the Fuji x100 and here you summed up again in this video 7 years later the same spirit the x100V delivers with a modern twist.
First of all, I want to say thank you for that kick up the arse you unknowingly gave me 7 years ago. Thanks for helping me to find my new Yashica ... (I bet that's never been said before of Fuji) ... I also want to thank you for your honesty on your own demons, someone else's honesty can shine a light on your own.
Lastly can you maybe share in a video the essence of that putting someone at ease? Strangely I can do it in my day job, it's something natural, but never in street setting, I often end up snapping a few shots off and then scooting off before they spot me. Thanks, Zack I'll shut up now. Cheers ... Chris

Brand new to your channel....awesome video to cut my teeth on. Loooong time Fuji shooter...but your colors, your tonality...beautiful! Are you shooting JPEGs with a particular film simulation? There's a certain look that is so refreshing and clean. Very consistent from home studio to Cuban streets...stills to video. Can a I get a taste of your secret sauce in achieving Fuji's best colors? Many thanks....

Outstanding video. It's made me really want to Fuji x100V even though I am too disabled to travel any more. It reminds me of the great point and shoot cameras of the days of film. I used to take one with me to places like Egypt and I made very good photographs. Never did the SLR camera with a dozen lenses like some of my richer friends did. Living within the limitations is possible and actually makes one think about better photos. Also - no one gets intimidated by a small camera.

Great video again, the proof here you can do the job done (very well done) with only a camera, lens, prints and beers. You rights, most of the time I’m focusing on gear instead of enjoying life around and snap the shoot with what I have. And Btw I’m looking Fujifilm now 👀🙄

Your promo video for the X100V in Havana was my favourite one. Showing off what that camera is capable of for what it is intended and marketed for: Travel camera, strett photography camera and everyday camera you always have on you.

Beautiful images Zack. Honestly, the video is the least impressive function of this camera, but the photos are stunning. And your talent of course. Great video!

Just subscribed. A good fun video and I can relate to the middle aged man trope. Kind of why I don't do model shoots, they are a dime a dozen. Loved your street photography shoot in Havana.

Dear Mr Arias, the latest X100V in common with its earlier models has a leaf shutter (which is fairly unique) and a built in ND filter, can you do a video about how to get the best out of these features. David

I just love the sincerity you use in everything you do. Warts and all. The world is just filled to the brim with Supermans "smashing all of those buttons"... We don't need any more of those.
I would love to see a video on the evolution of Zach alongside the almost 10 years of X100's existence. The camera changed a lot throughout the years, we all know that... What changes YOU underwent over these same years? It could be a cool one... Anyway, thank you for all of the videos and talks. This "new season" is fantastic!

For me Zack is about fotos in some lively areas of different countries, of culture and communication. So please could you just go and talk about how you approach such scenes a bit more, your thoughts while you are shooting and watching and trying to find a decisive moment? This would help with inspiration :)

Have you ever explored street photography in extreme rural settings. barren streets no buildings, agriculture, maybe wilderness but able to find people. It would take that idea of finding a composition and waiting for the action to enter to a whole new zen.
