Fritz consistency on hardcourts is certainly up there this year. He hits very well off both sides but his awkward movement holds him back just that extra bit, although the only one holding him back now is Sinner.
Fritz is an incredible mover, that has been the main driver of his improvement. Does he look graceful? No. But there are several excellent movers who don't.
fritz is pretty much amazing all the way around. amazing movie, amazing serve, amazing forehand, and amazing backhand. the problem is sinner is perfect in every category.
@@zweigackroyd7301 I don't think this is true at all, both visually and statistically. The main driver of his improvement is actually his forehand. It used to be mediocre, but he has improved it tremendously over the last two years, and this year, it has become quite good which ups his offensive game by a lot. His movement is still as awkward as ever, which greatly worsens his defense. Statistically, someone has gathered data about the winning point percentage for the ATP Final qualifier when they are on the offense versus when they are on the defense. Fritz's offense-winning chance is only below Sincaraz and Rublev, but his defense-winning chance is at the bottom of the qualifier. Search for "some 2024 stats for the 8 ATP finalists" to get the graph.
Fritz is certainly one of the most consistent players of the year. The skill set is exceptional, strength, better conditioning, mobility, and a force to reckon with. 💪🏻🔥❤️
@@brokeboy4559 It's extremely easy to envision him winning one. Alcaraz can easily beat Sinner, but also Alcaraz can easily lose to anyone. His top level (which comes out more often against the very best players) is better than anyone in history, but he's much worse than Sinner (and certainly than the big 3 were) at producing a slightly lower level that can still beat essentially everyone in the world consistently, which is why he has slipped in the rankings. Because just how good you are on your best day is almost completely irrelevant. So again it's very easy to imagine. It's only impossible for Fritz to win a slam right now as long as Sinner is in the tournament, he's the only person I can't really imagine Fritz beating regardless of the conditions. So we get a draw where Alcaraz can face Sinner before Fritz would, and Alcaraz beats Sinner (which is the more likely outcome), then it's just a coin toss about how Alcaraz is able to play on the day of the match vs Fritz. Fritz can handle the rest of his matches. Obviously it requires a bit more luck, because I'm not saying Fritz could just consistently make it into the finals of every major if it weren't for Sinner and Alcaraz, so this also has to happen in a tournament where he's playing well and is able to beat the rest of his opponents. But that will happen quite a few times in the rest of his career, so it's just a matter if one of those times we get a draw like I described.
@@samberg3864 Alcaraz usually can't lose to anyone in slams. His loss against VDZ was a rarity No. 3 is not "slipping" in the rankings Fritz ain't beating Alcaraz
Gee, if only he had you on his team. I'm sure neither he nor anyone in his team is aware that you can do that and haven't rejected it for good reasons like decreased volley sensitivity or how it affects his ability to hit angles.
Bryan brothers balls up that the USA lost this tie. As doubles experts themselves surely they where savvy enough to realize that you never replace doubles experience with singles expertise. Rajeev Ram has once again been shafted by the davis cup captain. For this alone iam happy the Aussies showed them up.
To be fair, Demon lost 6-4 in the 3rd against Fritz at the atp finals, he was right there with him all the way in Turin. None of the other Australians would have stood a chance against him anyway.
3:55 Even when he's not playing you can hear Ben Shelton screaming and celebrating the break point above all other sounds in the stadium. Most annoying player on tour.
Yeah, it was horrid decision making from the US. Australian doubles team are ATP Finals semifinalists, and just recently won the US Open. I understand the idea was to play two strong singles player, but Shelton and Paul are both players who play from the baseline, and Shelton has terrible shotmaking IQ which needs to be even sharper when playing doubles. They literally had the Olympic Bronze Medal men's doubles team in Fritz and Paul, and didn't exercise that option. US could probably have won with: Paul v Kokkinakis -- Paul is higher ranked than Shelton, and better at moving his opponent which is what you have to do against a player like Kokkinakis who can handle power and is similarly powerful but doesn't have the best rally tolerance or movement. Shelton v ADM -- Nothing against demon, but he's still battling whatever injury/physical issue he was struggling with since the US Open, and is nowhere near being the threat he was in the first half of the year. Demon primarily relies on fitness to quickly get the ball back against powerful hitters like Shelton, but without his fitness, Shelton should be able to get out a win. Even if not... Fritz/Paul (Olympic Bronze Medal Team) v Purcell/Thompson (GS Champs) -- Fritz/Paul have more doubles match experience and chemistry than Shelton/Paul, and Fritz has shown that he can play well at the net, which is necessary at this level of doubles.
@ Fritz may have been substituted with Shelton because he just played the second singles match and was too exhausted to play the doubles match that followed it immediately. But, that begs the question why the US Team captain didn't schedule the match ups as you suggested.

He used to move like a dying cow, but now he moves fasts, well and still like a dying cow however.
@@Martooof He looks slightly less awkard than Medvedev, I think - who is also a great mover.

In my opinion (excluding Sinner) Fritz is the best player on hard court right now
Fritz is awesome! America finally got a solid top-5 player in more than a decade!
I know right, its great
Lleyton has half of his team wearing backwards caps like it’s the 90s lol

I can see Fritz reaching another hard court slam final or winning another masters next year
I wanna see Fritz semi Australia so bad, I just know he can do it🔥
Starting to think Fritz could get a slam in 2025.
I'm pretty sure that Fritz will get a Grand Slam title before Zverev
i highly doubt it. hes got sinner in his way on hard court and isnt good enough on other surfaces yet
Every time I watch Taylor I have to go to Chipotle 🌯
Well done Taylor!
Fritz❤
LET'S GO Australia team. !!!!!!!
Merci de mettre le vainqueur direct sur la miniature de la vidéo. Il y en a qui travaille si jamais...
Fritz is a technically flawless player. Hope he wins a grand slam in 2025.
Unfortunately, he will never win one.

same, maybe just hope for against Zverev in the final of one lol
De Minaur is mostly defensive and often hits the ball open stanced and never step in and waiting for lucky counter puncher.
No disrespect but Alex needs to put more weight on his racket . His strokes are not big enough compared to the top 5 right now .

He hits harder than Med (5) and hes number 4... He just beat number 2 in ATP... needs bigger strokes got it
Tbh he was rlly good with everything a few months ago but his injuries i guess kinda affected him and he lost his confidence
Go Fritz and USA! 🇺🇲❤️✊
