I enjoy these video's and I went to follow Lucie on Instagram. I know through that that she has left R29 to "branch out". Does this video mean that Lucie is back with R29?
Loma Linda California is literally the capital of the seventh day adventist religion of which eating a vegan diet is a corner stone but sure "no special diets"
OH MY GOD LITERALLY EVERY FOOD IN THE TOP 10 WAS PLANT BASED AND YOU'RE SAYING THERE ISN'T A SPECIAL DIET! IT'S ALL PLANTS! WHY ARE YOU SO AFRAID TO PRESENT IT LIKE IT IS????
@@tlr748 I think there may be a misunderstanding here. I did some studying on the Blue Zones myself a few years back, and I also learned that there is not a special diet. The top 10 foods she listed here are foods that tend to be eaten in these regions. However, these people do not choose to eat these foods to intentionally eat a certain way, the way someone following a keto diet or paleo diet might. This is simply the food they consume because it is what is available to them, just like Americans in metropolitan areas may grab a burger-- it's simply a food the person enjoys that is readily available. Hope that helps! :)
My main thought while watching this is how hard it is to practice all of these habits when we live in a culture that emphasizes work so much. If you’re working a full time job you might not have the luxury of having time to cook your food, spend time with your community, or destress and find your purpose of life, because you need to support yourself.
Jesamarie yeah, it’s interesting! But I think it’s important to note that Lucy states that Okinawa is the blue zone not Tokyo, etc. also, even if you have terrible work life balance, if you’re walking everywhere and your 7-11 has fresh local foods/bento than it must be counteracting something.
I'd like to see 5 days of living on the poverty line, eg. not spending much more than a dollar a day on food. There are some great charities that highlight this issue.
What a fun video! I am part of the Blue Zone community in Loma Linda (I’m a Seventh-day Adventist), and while praying daily is an important part of our spiritual practice, we also take Sabbath (don’t work) from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday and enjoy the day in spiritual community and in nature! For me and many in this community of students and health care professionals, this has proven to be an important aspect of staying spiritually and physically healthy. Thanks, Lucie! Love your videos.
5 DAYS OF BUDGETING BY ENVELOPES 5 DAYS OF LEARNING COMPUTER PROGRAMMING/SCRIPTING 5 DAYS OF BEING A BARTENDER Seriously, these videos have entertaned me and inspired me!!! :) thank you lucie!!!
I'm vegan! It helps out the environment so much and I dont need to end an animals life for my pleasure. My family is also vegetarian except for holidays.
I live in Loma Linda, CA & this was....interesting lol. A lot of people in the area are students or veterans. The farms are on the outskirts of the city through the back roads to Moreno Valley, but there are an excess of fruit trees, I wouldn't call living here anything special or any different from the rest of California. I'm sure this differs for everyone here though. 💗
@@jackie9190 yup. I've read the book as well. The Blue Zone in Loma Linda, California is specific only to the Seventh-Day Adventist community there, not the geographic area itself

It's so nice seeing you try a different approach to living life👌 I live in a small town in the centre of Greece🇬🇷 and here are some things we do: 1) buy eggs from neighboors with non-caged chickens 2) eat a lot of fruit and vegetables that are bought from the fresh outdoor market (localy grown) 3) try to eat with family at all meals 4) cook almost every meal we eat, in special occasions we eat at a restaurant if we'd like relatives/friends company 5) we do drink a lot of water and when it's the orange's season, juice too 6) we try to walk A LOT and use our bikes as much as possible! All these things we have access to because we live in a town that is small and is near the countryside. I am moving though to the capital this year fot college and i'll miss my family a lot. I hope you, as well as me, find a way to incorporate these things into your life and live better😊💕

I love eating to about 80% full because my thoughts stay clear afterwards. If I eat until I'm full or more than full, then my body can only digest haha...
O.K. Lucie, my mother-in-law is going to be 104 yrs old on her next birthday and I can tell you she did not do anything special to reach this age. No healthy diet, no exercise and drove everywhere, rarely went to the doctor ( has never seen a GYN since my husband was born, he's 64) and rarely cooked. My mother who died at 91 yrs. old, was German and cooked every meal and loved to bake. We ate our biggest meal at lunch and dinner was a lighter meal, as was breakfast. My parents did not drive so we walked everywhere and my mom was hit by a car twice with multiple fractures but healed completely, which I think was due to strong bones from walking. I think we can try the best we can to be healthy, but sometimes it's just dumb luck! :)
I’m interested in where you get you informations from? When you reference research could you put links to some of the studies you looked at? Obviously not everything but at least the main ones? Along the lines of information, maybe 5 days researching? Learning to research/critically analyse information/spot fake news etc.
That’s what my parents used to eat when they were my age, they lived at the village and ate whatever their parents made, they just didn’t have sweet potatoes. They also worked only at the farm the whole day and played non-stop, my County is famous for its wine and for the homemade bread

Naira Bee lol idk tbh, I just genuinely don’t wanna live, I don’t wanna grow up and get a job just to pay to live in a world that I don’t even wanna be in
