Over 6 decades not 7. He's 69 and his first credited onscreen performance was at the age of 8(1962) in "Big and Little Won Tin Bar" in the role of the lead actor's son.
Oh WOW, OGB, you seriously haven't reacted to this series? Prepare to be in stitches, girl. Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are an action comedy power pairing! Also minor note, but important to me. You are the sole reactor I've seen who agreed when Jackie said America is a friendly place. Thank you for that. 😊
Good reaction without overly analyzing the race jokes. It's kind of ironic how much hate this movie seems to get in 2023 because of the race jokes but it was the first Hollywood movie with two male leads of color. And for a lot of people that didn't watch old kung fu movies, the first introduction to Jackie Chan in west.
Jackie Chan actually has bloopers at the end of all his movies, thanks to playing a small supporting role in the 1981 ensemble comedy Cannonball Run. Though they tend to be very different than the ones in that film or this one, leaning far more toward "This is how close he came to dying" than everyone blowing lines and cracking up.
I vastly prefer his Hong Kong bloopers, where it's less about Jackie flubbing lines and more about his crazy stuntwork, though his personality always shines through. Supercop and First Strike have some hilarious bloopers, and you can literally see Jackie come the closest he ever has to dying on camera in Armour of God 😬
Jackie Chan began his film career in Hong Kong. There’s a few of those films in particular that you should see: DRUNKEN MASTER (1978), THE YOUNG MASTER (1980), PROJECT A (1983), POLICE STORY (1985), CITY HUNTER (1993), and RUMBLE IN THE BRONX (1995).
Believe it or not, what you see here isn't anything close to the most impressive physical performances that Jackie Chan did in his career. The combination of his starting to get "too old for this shit" as Roger Murtaugh would say, and the much higher safety standards of Hollywood movies compared to the Chinese film industry, meant that he necessarily had to be nerfed a bit. In particular, his autobiography describes how he wanted the scene of breaking into the Consulate to be much more dramatic and stunt-heavy than just the couple shots of climbing a tree that we get, but the insurance representative threw a fit and threatened to walk away entirely if It wasn't changed. Watching the movies where he was truly in his prime in the '80s and early '90s will give you a whole new appreciation of what the human body is capable of, and you're left wondering how the hell he's still in one piece. But as the old saying goes, it's not insane if you can actually do it.
This may be your first Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker movie, but it's the third you've done here with Juntao's actor Tom Wilkinson, who was also Carmine Falcone in Batman Begins and Dr. Mierzwiak in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. He's actually rather better known for playing villains now than he was in 1998, which can make the twist a lot easier to see coming.
There's also a lot of Hong Kong colonial history in the plot, dealing with the return of Hong Kong to China, that paints Tom Wilkinson as the villain before he is revealed as Juntao 😅
Great reaction, and if you want some more Jackie Chan movies, I highly recommend Operation Condor (1991), Rumble In The Bronx (1995), and Mr.Nice Guy (1997); You will definitely enjoy them.
Chris Tucker at his prime after being in Friday makes this hilarious alongside Jackie Chan. That "speaka any english" scene with him is iconicly funny 🤣 Also, yes, Jackie actually did those stunts. So far he's still doing that. He surprises people with his stunt and acting work and it's just crazy kinda awesome!
Another great reaction! Thank you for making this video and I'm so happy you watched and shown the bloopers at the end!! A couple more Jackie Chan movies I love to see you watch and react to is Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights! Hope you have a great day 😊
Yay! So happy to see you react to this! Jackie Chan's movies were a huge staple of my childhood. For recommendations: ~Both Rush Hour sequels are very good and worth watching. ~Rumble in the Bronx (classic) ~Jackie Chan's First Strike (also know as Police Story 4); I personally favor the version under the first title I gave because it's what I grew up on, but it's good no matter what ~Supercop (also known as Police Story 3); again, I favor the version under the first title I gave, but not everyone will agree; Michelle Yeoh is in this one and also does her own stunts like Jackie! ~Mr. Nice Guy (cute and fun) ~Legend of the Drunken Master (also known as Drunken Master II; a MUST watch! Jackie's final fight against Ken Lo is incredible; this is one of his greatest martial arts performances ever) ~Project A (I favor the original Chinese cut of this one because the American version has some odd editing/dubbing, but it's great either way; this one includes a couple of his lifelong buddies: Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao) ~Dragons Forever (an older one that may be hard to find, but it's one of my favorites; it also features his two friends I mentioned above, and the climax at the end with all of them confronting the bad guys is fantastic) ~Forbidden Kingdom (a lot of people forget this one, but I loved it overall, AND is also has Jet Li in it, a great martial artist and actor in his own right) I know that's a long list, 😅, but I hope to see some of them show up here eventually. 😊 (Also, great to see you back! You're one of my favorite reactors. I love your laid-back approach and genuine reaction to everything. You just seem like a pretty chill, awesome person. 😁)
Good reaction. For more Jackie Chan there is "Rush Hour 2", "Shanghai Noon" with Owen Wilson and "Shanghai Nights". All of them are a lot of fun. They would appeal to your sense of humor.
This film was one's of my favourite childhood memories and I enjoy watching the chemistry between Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker who is funny and lot of action packed . Thanks for your reaction on Rush Hour 😊🎉
Sam - so great to see you back! Lee and Carter are the BEST duo. Would LOVE to see you react to two more awesome comedies. Adventures in Babysitting and License to Drive. Both hilarious with killer soundtracks. Secret of My Success is another personal favourite with the AMAZING Michael J Fox. Cheers from Canada!
Oh you gotta watch parts 2 & 3 and more movies by them both. They’re both great! Fun fact: Jackie Chan trained with Bruce Lee, does his own stunts and has his own martial artists school known as the J Team.
I'm sure a lot of people will recommend 'Rumble in the Bronx' but if you want stellar Jackie go a little earlier than that and watch either, both preferably, 'Police Story', and/or 'Who Am I' amazing stunts and fight sequences. Great reaction, very happy you're back 😁
@@robertbunting3117 I dont think ive seen that movie since I was 13. Imma have to rewatch. I literally only remember the racing and I think he was sliding down a building at some point but i dont remember
3 parts of this movie that really make me crack up laughing are: 1. When Carter starts dancing like Michael Jackson in the middle of the street after blowing the car up 2. When Lee and Carter are bonding and practicing disarming techniques while Edwin Starr's song "War" plays in the background 3. When Carter says "I know that ain't the bomb. Get that bomb away from me." Towards the end And trust me, the blooper reels for the remaining two movies are just as funny when it comes to the slip-ups with the dialogue.

They had to get into its _guts_ and find the right _wire_ to cut. Now Major Carter, the _tech_ expert, was elsewhere on the asteroid, working on something, but she communicated with Colonel O'Neil, the team leader, who was doing this, and she explained that he had to cut _one particular color_ wire. So he got to that point and faced the _cruelest_ of dilemmas. There were _four_ wires. "Carter, they're all _yellow."_ "Oh, you're _kidding."_ "Should I cut 'em all _anyway,_ just in _case?"_ "Well, cutting the wrong _one_ will be just like if the timer reaching _zero."_ So there's this _long, tense_ moment, and then O'Neil observes, "You know, I'd just like to take a moment to say I think this bomb is a _terrible_ design and I really think we ought to _say_ something about it to someone when we get _back."_
@@OGBReacts hey there, so nice to have you back reacting to movies, now I highly recommend you the movie The Fifth Element (1997) it's a movie I know you'll love and it has Chris Tucker giving the performance of a lifetime, stealing the show from an all star cast.
Hi sam. Love your reaction to Rush hour and congratulations on your first Jackie and Chris movie and yes Jackie Chan does his own stones for real hes a legend like Bruce Lee and my favorite part is when Chris says hanging off for like an hour I'm gonna go get the Ambulance and I'll be right back😂😂😂😂 And thank you for watching the bloopers❤😂😂 I hope you continue watching Rush hour or 3 and 2 very soon Because it gets more interesting and more fun and hilarious and so much fight scenes and action and funny bloopers !!
“Rumble In The Bronx” was a big breakout movie for Jackie Chan in the North American market for those of us who didn’t already watch Kung Fu genre flicks. Give it and “Mr. Nice Guy” a watch. 👍🏻
"Which... I know I gotta watch more..." As good as Hollywood Jackie is, you haven't seen Jackie until you've seen his Hong Kong work. Drunken Master & Legend of Drunken Master, Police Story 1-4 (3 is Supercop, 4 is First Strike), Rumble in the Bronx, Operation Condor, and Who Am I are all shining examples of classic Jackie. For something more dramatic from Jackie - The Foreigner (I'm really glad that Jackie is turning more towards seriois roles and doesn't risk his health so much these days)
If you enjoyed this, may I recommend checking out Gorgeous, another Jackie movie that;s a bit more romcom but still has a couple of great fights with the late great Brad Allen. Also has a delightfully OTT baddie you can't help but kinda like :)
For Jackie Chan movies, if you want good action scenes with NA sensibilities, go with his American stuff. If you want insane action scenes, go with his Chinese stuff. He hates making movies in america, cause they won't let him do anything (insurance), or give him enough time to do the things he wants. A few of his chinese stuff I'll recommend, are The Legend of Drunken Master (English name for Drunken Master 2), Mr. Nice Guy, Supercop, Rumble In the Bronx. Dubbed versions are fine He also doesn't do all his own stunts, that was just part of his marketing when his stuff debuted in america. He does A LOT of them, like 95%, and his most dangerous ones, but he doesn't do all. You can safely assume if you see him doing something, then it's actually him. The times I've spotted were random things, like a 3 second shot where his face isn't on screen that well and isn't the focus. Or in Dragon's Forever where there's a slo-mo kick that's VERY clearly not him
There are a couple times in Heart of Dragon but according to Sammo, (and everyone else) he was filming Heart of Dragon in the AM and Police Story in the PM. .. He had burned the skin off his hands, fractured 2 vertabtae, and dislocated his pelvis doing the end scene pole slide in Police Story two nights before and had just returned from the hospital to the set of Heart of Dragon so he was unable to do a jump kick scene. Rather than hold up production, Big bother, Sammo, insisted on a double. Same thing in Thunderbolt which I think was a broken leg or ankle (so many breaks ...I can't remember without looking it up) Yeah...I'll give him a pass.
@@Eidlones didn't say you were....just sayin sometimes doubles are necessary no matter how good you are and you are correct about the PR company in the begining although Jackie had nothing to do with that at the time since he barely spoke English and had to trust the "professionals". This emphasized for him the need to learn English.
It’s so good to have you back! All the rush hour movies are great. Jackie is amazing and Chris and him are a great pair and the outtakes are hilarious. Aside from that, watch the 1989 Let It Ride. I haven’t found anyone that has reacted to it and it’s hilarious!
Ok...The Accidental Spy...just for the market place fight alone. Who else would have the cahones to perform an entire fight...escape sequence dressed in NOTHING but what God gave him??? You got it...Jackie Chan. It was totally and unapologetically Hillarious!!!! Let's hear it for naked gung fu (with strategically placed props). How he can move that fast and keep things covered is nothing less than amazing. Donnie...Jet Li move over...they could never pull this scene off.😂😂😂😂😂😂 plus, Jackie is built like a panther on steroids...my my.
"I Know I gotta watch more..." *Drunken Master 2* (Probably his best historical period movie) *Police Story 1-4* (PS3 AKA "Supercop" featuring *Michelle Yeoh;* PS4 AKA "First Strike") The first Police Story revolutionized Hong Kong action film-making. This is Jackie's most successful and prolific franchise with seven movies. The second one is nearly as good as the first one. The third one was a breakthrough role for Michelle Yeoh. The fourth one was a big hit in the US and features the iconic ladder scene. *Project A 1-2* (Jackie Chan vs Pirates! In the style of silent film stars Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd) *Dragons Forever* (The best fight scene ever is in this movie) *Armor of God 1-2* (AOG 2 AKA "Operation Condor") Jackie Chan hunts treasures, a'la Indiana Jones. "Operation Condor" may be his best contemporary action movie. Try to find original Chinese versions with subtitles and not Hollywood release dubs whenever possible. The American versions always cut some of the best bits out and add jarringly out-of-place hip-hop music.
Hello Sam! So happy to see you posting regularly again. Love the new digs especially your Yoshi collection! Love the comedies as a way to ease back into things. You were missed so looking forward to new content!
Your laugh is perfection. And your commentary is snarky, insightful, and hilarious. I’ll delve into dramas and action soon, but you got me hooked on watching your comedy reactions. Cheers to you! New sub!
You just got a subscriber. Yea Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are awesome. If you wanna react to more Jackie Chan movies i recommend: Rumble In The Bronx, Mr Nice Guy, Police Story 1-3, First Strike, Armor Of God and Operation Condor
If you want the best Jackie Chan movies, go back in time to his earliest movie from the 70s. They may be dubbed, and the stories are a bit rough around the edges, but man he was a great fighter. Start with "Drunken Master". 😀
20:06 "My daddy once caught a _bullet_ with his _bare hands."_ 🤔 is that a _boast?_ I mean that's not exactly an accomplishment. Catching a bullet with your bare hands is basically a matter of good eye-hand _coordination._ Catching a bullet fired from a _gun_ with your bare hands is the textbook example of impossible, but just catching a _bullet_ that someone has just up and _tossed_ to you comes down to good eye-hand _coordination._
Chris Tucker he's a fan of Michael Jackson either way that him and Michael are like working together as dancers somehow Michael might have teach Chris Tucker how to dance and it was hilarious 👍.
Are you got to see this movie this movie is really hilarious even you know that Jackie Chan was the greatest fighter of all time in all movies either way you probably noticed and see him that that he does is doing the cops supercops and probably the classic movies in the village he play you know as drunken Master that he drinks and being a drunken master boxer either way he's really good at it only in Kung Fu Panda he usually plays as a monkey character then you should have see how he usually does a greatest in all stuff in the movies and then you should probably see it sometime it is so hilarious 👍 that you might have noticed it was so great.
2:33 yes he did all his stunts
Still one of the funniest buddy cop action comedy movies ever made!
For more Chris Tucker comedy, I recommend "The Fifth Element"(1997). A silly action comedy that is one of my all-time favorite movies.
This the first of the trilogy so you're in for some epic Chris Tucker-screaming hilarity!
He hits a pitch in 5th Element and the Rush Hours that tickles my brain.
Jackie also did a fantastic set of movies with Owen Wilson Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights. Definitely worth checking out both of them
Jackie + fast talking funny man is usually a formula for success (except the the movie he did with Johnny Knoxville 😅).
Was just going to post the same comment. Those movies are fun also

Johnny Knoxville just doesn't belong on screen. He doesn't contribute much of anything, never has.

He also doesn't do all his own stunts, that was just part of his marketing when his stuff debuted in america.
@@cherylcohen5700 I'm not blaming him or anything, just saying that he doesn't do all his stunts.
@@Eidlones didn't say you were....just sayin sometimes doubles are necessary no matter how good you are and you are correct about the PR company in the begining although Jackie had nothing to do with that at the time since he barely spoke English and had to trust the "professionals". This emphasized for him the need to learn English.
Rush Hour 2 is the best of the trilogy i feel and Shanghai Noon along w/ Shanghai Knights w/ Owen Wilson are also plenty of laughs.
Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker
😃Ok truth be told…I’m a 48 y/o feminist woman & my sister & I still say every time we’re running late “titties, titties, titties, move them titties”🤭
You'll like 'Supercop'. It's a must see along with 'Rumble in the Bronx', 'Police Story' and 'Who Am I'.
Jackie Chan is one of the best actors in the wolrd
Welcome back OGB!
"Yeah, I've been looking for your sweet ans sour chicken ass" 😂😂😂
This movie is always a good time. Glad to see you again!
Oh...he was 47 years old in that movie too...huh...
Thank you! Good reactions.
I used to work for the writer. Good guy.
"I Know I gotta watch more..."
*Drunken Master 2* (Probably his best historical period movie)
*Police Story 1-4* (PS3 AKA "Supercop" featuring *Michelle Yeoh;* PS4 AKA "First Strike") The first Police Story revolutionized Hong Kong action film-making.
In the style of silent film stars Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd)
*Dragons Forever* (The best fight scene ever is in this movie)
*Armor of God 1-2* (AOG 2 AKA "Operation Condor") Jackie Chan hunts treasures, a'la Indiana Jones. "Operation Condor" may be his best contemporary action movie.
Try to find original Chinese versions with subtitles and not Hollywood release dubs whenever possible. The American versions always cut some of the best bits out and add jarringly out-of-place hip-hop music.
If you want Chris Tucker, do Friday!
New sub!
You’re too kind!! ♥️ Thanks so much!

11:16 » it seems you already caught the idea for the next scene 😆😆 // 11:50 » there you go! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Welcome!! 🥰
I love the 1st movie. I often forget about the other 2
If you want the best Jackie Chan movies, go back in time to his earliest movie from the 70s. They may be dubbed, and the stories are a bit rough around the edges, but man he was a great fighter. Start with "Drunken Master". 😀
You gotta do the fifth element it's got Bruce Willis, Cris tucker and Gary Goldman. And a lot of other great actors
Loved your reaction I hope you continue this series ❤
I’m so glad I found your channel this is awesome!
You're too kind! Thank you!
"You want any fives with that?"
rofl
Loved your reaction. You have a cute laugh. Can’t wait to your see your reactions to 2 and 3.
I love part 2
Hell yeah
20:06 "My daddy once caught a _bullet_ with his _bare hands."_
🤔 is that a _boast?_ I mean that's not exactly an accomplishment.
Great movie
Did anyone ever tells you that you look alike of combitaoin of Winona Ryder + Guillermo from WWDITS ???
No, but eh fuck it I'll take it
Are you got to see this movie this movie is really hilarious even you know that Jackie Chan was the greatest fighter of all time in all movies either way you probably noticed and see him that that he does is doing the cops supercops and probably the classic movies in the village he play you know as drunken Master that he drinks and being a drunken master boxer either way he's really good at it only in Kung Fu Panda he usually plays as a monkey character then you should have see how he usually does a greatest in all stuff in the movies and then you should probably see it sometime it is so hilarious 👍 that you might have noticed it was so great.
Rush hour 2 and 3 please
Hate to be a downer but the female cop played by Elizabeth Pena passed away 10 year's ago.
Oh no :( That’s so sad
About the language, the 90s were a different time.
First Jackie Chan movie!? Sort your life out!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
😂😂🔥
Are you going to continue the Mandalorian series?
Hopefully at some point
😅
Promo SM 😱
