The bloopers are the icing on the cake to a hilarious movie. Such great chemistry.
Fun reaction, Addie. As an Asian-American, Rush Hour (1998) is one of my favorite buddy cop action comedy movies. I agree with you that this movie is hilarious. Its sequels are gonna be that too because Jackie Chan & Chris Tucker make a great duo. The scene where Soo Yung was singing Fantasy by Mariah Carey was so cute and funny at the same time. And the Chinese Theater is my all-time favorite movie palace on Hollywood Boulevard. In the movie, they were screening Titanic (1997).
Speaking of Jackie Chan, I suggest Police Story (1985), Police Story 2 (1988), Police Story 3: Supercop (1992), Shanghai Noon (2000), Shanghai Knights (2003), Around The World In 80 Days (2004), The Tuxedo (2002), Shinjuku Incident (2009), and The Foreigner (2017).
As a South East Asian Chinese from Malaysia, this movie was really disappointing when it came out. Rumble in the Bronx(a Hong Kong production shot mostly on Toronto) which came out before Rush Hour had way much better stunts and fights. For Rumble remember our cinemas were packed for weeks and each time I watch the audience was cheering. The stunts in Rush Hour are weak, the fight choreography is way too by the numbers for a Jackie movie and is more of a Chris Tucker movie because he gets most of the dialogue while Jackie sits back. The made up Chinese dish and some other references almost feels like those buck tooth chop socky movies of how Hollywood used to portray Chinese in their movies. Hell Jackie is not even a fan of this movie. Thankfully the sequel is a big improvement over this one. The movie he made when going back to Hong Kong, the 2004 New Police Story is way better than this in terms of stunts and fights.
@@personatodo Chinese from Malaysia… your opinions automatically don’t count. Next.
Fun fact: Jackie Chan does all of his own stunts and has broken over 200 bones in his body because of it. He started out in Chinese film, and they had almost zero safety protocols.
☀️☀️☀️🤔🤔🤔🤔
He doesn't do all his own stunts these days cos age and the wear and tear on his body but he does them when he can but yes, back in the day he did pretty much everything, no matter how insane people thought he was. The guy should be dead many, many times over but somehow and very fortunately he is still alive and in good shape to this day. :)
@Don't Look @ Me Jackie was one of the guards in Enter the Dragon, in one of the fights Bruce breaks his neck, not Jackie's the guard's.
If your number is right, it must be double-counting some bones that were broken more than once. There are only about 206 bones in the human body, and they're not all equally prone to fracture when doing stunt work, so breaking more than 97% of them (and surviving) would be highly unlikely. For example, I'd bet the tiny bones in his ear were safe. And if he'd broken every single one of his vertebrae, even if at different times, there's no way he'd still be able to move normally.

The Rush Hour movies were some of my favorites growing up. Always love the bloopers. Hope you will be reacting to the sequels as well!
I grew up watching this movie as a kid,
Jackie Chan was a BEAST and Chris Tucker was OUTSTANDING
You really know why Jackie Chan doesn't need a stunt double
Be sure you do 2 reactions to Rush Hour 2 & 3
He did occasionally have to use stunt doubles in Hollywood though. Not because he wanted to but because Hollywood and insurance companies would otherwise refuse to cover the production.
That's why his Hong Kong movie are special because he's able to have a lot more freedom to go all out.
@@dialecticsjunkie7653 it is not on camera
The bloopers alone are worth watching over and over!!
The combination of these two actors/characters worked so well!!
The very first Halloween after this movie came out, I dressed up as Lee. (I'm Korean) and pretty easily pulled it off. It won me a tie for 2nd.
Hope to see you again for the next RH reaction.
Take care, Addie!!
Please watch the rest of the trilogy. It's totally worth it 👌.
It’s always a nice day when I open UA-cam and I see an Addie reaction. It’s like showing my favourite movies to a friend
Great reaction Addie. I've never seen you laugh so much. 🤣 Jackie is an incredible athlete and has a great sense of humor. He has a black belt in Hapkido and had bit parts in films since he was 8 yrs old, with his first leading role in 1978.
But he is leading acting in 1976
You'll definitely want to follow up with the sequels, and check out Shanghai Noon.
Actually, it's hard to go wrong with Any Jackie Chan movie. Who Am I, Mr Nice Guy, Drunken Master, Project A... and so on... I don't want to list every one...
Though I should mention that he has a small role in Cannonball Run, which is a classic that needs to be watched
Don't forget The Tuxedo!
his Hong Kong movies are just gold
Of course... the studio was Golden Harvest :😜
Who Am I was incredible. Also I forgot about The Tuxedo. Bad movie but Jackie carries his own.
City Hunter too.
Jackie Chan is not only a master of martial arts, but mastered the ability to merge it with physical comedy. He truly is a legend!
Drunken Master (1978) is an epic display of this
One day during filming, a rep from the film's insurance company came by while they were shooting. Kackie told him "In this scene, I'm going to run up that wall, jump to the tree, go out on that branch, and jump through the window." The rep said, "Oh, can you explain how you're going to do that?" Jackie said, "I just told you. I'm going to run up that wall, jump to the tree, go out on that branch, and jump through the window."
They had to get a new insurance company.
Their chemistry together is fantastic!
They're 3 Rush Hour films. Jackie Chan reported December 2022 that Rush Hour 4 is in development
There's a very underrated Jet Li movie that was released around this time: "Kiss of the Dragon." Lots of drama and the martial arts sequences are captivating, even if you're not into that genre. Worth a watch if you haven't seen it.
and Romeo Must Die
"Kiss of the Dragon" was a real good movie. I also liked "Romeo Must Die". But IMO the best "western" Jet Li movie is "Danny The Dog" aka "Unleashed", he really kills it not only in the fight scenes but also with his acting in that one.
@@mrtveye6682 "Fearless". All those lead up to his unbelievable performance with this. ♥ Consequently, "Unleashed" is the first of his that I saw. He's the best. ♡
@@Eowyn187 "Fearless" is a great movie, no question. But I wouldn't rate it over Unleashed. In fact, I would rate "Fist of Legend" - with a somehow similar story to "Fearless" - higher.
But than again, there are so many great Jet Li movies, hard to pick a favorite. "Hero" for example is just brilliant.
@@mrtveye6682 agreed. Unleashed is an awesome movie in every way.
One of my all-time favorite lines in a movie: "You know he dead"
One of the funniest Buddy Cop Action Comedy Films ever made!
Money Talks is one of my favorite movies with Chris Tucker! He’s hilarious in the role he plays
One of my favorite lines from this trilogy
“He is mi and I am yu”
Hope you get to see the other two at some point. Next to the Men In Black trilogy the Rush Hour trilogy is one of the prime examples of how to do the buddy cop comedy right. So much of this movie never would have made it passed sensors today.
Your reaction video has replay value. Glad you enjoyed it. I enjoyed it too when it came out in 1998
The Bloopers are a Jackie Chan thing. Almost all of his movies end that way. He's amazing. You should watch more of his movies.
"You know he not going to be in rush hour 3" lol. There's 3 movies in the franchise.. You gotta watch 2 now and also 'Money Talks'.
I like the first two films, but not the third one. Nice reaction Addie. Jackie Chan has many great martial arts films such a Rumble In The Bronx, Thunderbolt, Mr. Nice Guy, Who Am I? Legend Of Drunken Master, Drunken Master, Snake In The Eagle's Shadow, Operation Condor 1 and 2, Twin Dragons, Police Story 1-4, My Lucky Stars, Supercop 1 and 2, Heart Of Dragon, Battle Creek Brawl, The Foreigner, The Young Master, Dragon Lord, Fantasy Mission Force, Winners & Sinners, Project A 1 and 2, Wheels On Meals, Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars, Dragons Forever, City Hunter, Crime Story, First Strike, Shanghai Noon, The Accidental Spy, Shanghai Knights, The Tuxedo, The Medallion, Around The World In 80 Days, The Myth, The Forbidden Kingdom, Shinjuku Incident, The Karate Kid (remake), 1911, Dragon Blade, Skiptrace, Vanguard. Have fun!
Rush Hour is a riot. And Rush Hour II is just as good. Jackie Chan and his moves are without equal. Great reaction to it. :)
Thank you for reacting to this great action-comedy. I'm glad that you enjoyed it.
FYI: C4 cannot explode when shot or even put on fire. it needs a detonator. that being said, Chris Tucker's Michael Jackson dance after he blows up the car is hilarious.
Jackie Chan bloopers in the credits is a trademark.
Hopefully we get watch more movies with you like this. Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 2 and The Lethal Weapon franchise.
Bad Boys
Jackie Chan is one of the biggest movie stars in the world. Most of his movies are based on his own stuntwork and physical comedy and then dubbed into local languages.
Bloopers are standard for Chan's movies as they *always* show his stunt failures and injuries.
The blooper reel is a Jackie Chan thing. Most of the movies he's in have them. Loved this movie series. For more Chris Tucker also check out Friday. Another hilarious 90s comedy.
The old cab driver is "Judo " Gene Lebell he's a martial arts legend who trained Bruce lee how to grapple , once wrestled a bear, was the ref for a famous Muhammad Ali vs a wrestler fight , and on a dare choked Steven Seagal unconscious
He did not train Bruce Lee for too long then because Lee was bad at grappling in real life, also anyone can be choked unconscious while in an RNC hardly an achievement for a 10th degree red belt in Judo.
"Everything he does is so impressive." - The understatement of history in regards to Jackie Chan.
This is such a fun movie, but the 2nd one is (in my opinion) even better. This was great seeing their relationship begin, but once you see them start off while already buddies...it's so great. When you think of these 2 actors paired together it's a bit mind boggling, but boy do they make it work. They play off of each other so well and I love that it isn't just having 1 be the funny one and the other do all the action. Chris Tucker gets more involved with the action just like Jackie Chan with the comedy. These 2 are perfect together.
Chairography, last seen in Avengers when Black Widow is "being interrogated" by the Russians.
"Chan has expressed dissatisfaction with the film: 'I didn’t like the movie. I still don’t like the movie.' Chan continued: 'I don’t like the way I speak English, and I don’t know what Chris Tucker is saying'."
But he's keen to make a fourth one anyways. Money. :P
@@carn9507 I know he does them anyway. But it always feels weird to be positive on something that he never really liked.
@@ianrastall he was insecured

The answer is YES
You need to start a trend Addie. No other reviewer has watched Shanghai Noon or Shanghai Knights. Those are another two of Jackie Chan's amazing comic kung fu pairings. They cannot be missed!
Jackie Chan appeared very briefly as one of the body guards trying to kill Bruce Lee in the 70's movie Enter The Dragon. So he's obviously been around a really long time. He's the fastest on the kung fu (Wing Chun ) dummy which you can find on utube.
They are a great pair together by the way Jackie Chan has been in films since notable he was an extra in Enter the Dragon with Bruce Lee (1973).
This is one of those rare franchises where the sequels are just as good as the original. Your in for a fun experience
You will enjoy the second part too. It´s maybe even better.
Absolutely love Jackie Chan! Have you seen Shanghai noon, and Shanghai nights?
Nice reaction! Jackie Chan is legend! Check out movies Shanghai noon/knights and rest of Rush hours!
While you watched this for Chris Tucker, my generation watched it for Jackie Chan. Now you must watch Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson in Shanghai Noon. A comedy Western.
Jackie Chan can move, and he does all of his own stunts. He's amazing to watch in ANYTHING. But a movie you really need to check out is "Legend of Drunken Master," in the original Chinese if you can find it. His mother in that movie makes me laugh so hard, and I believe she is his mother-in-law in real life. Such a good movie.
What a joy this was. If you enjoyed this movie, I definitely recommend some of Jackie Chan's Hong Kong-produced films: Rumble in the Bronx, Who Am I?, Legend of Drunken Master, Supercop... his American movies have some of the best writing & highest production values, but Hollywood filmmakers care a lot about pesky things like "safety" and "insurance," and also work on a tight schedule. Jackie's Hong Kong pictures, where he's in total control of his own stunt team, are where his absolutely insane death-defying stunts come from. He's famous for his "outtake reels" where you can see just how hard his stunts are, and how many injuries he suffers on the set to bring us these movies. He's an absolute legend, but there's a lot going on in this movie and not much room for him. Seeing him on his home turf, in his native language with his own stunt team, is a totally different experience.
all of Jackie's movies have the bloopers at the end the guy has broken bones soo many times doing his stunts. he has a hole in his head after a tree jump went wrong
7:13 what is it with that actor and the designated police/detective roles? 🤣pretty sure he was even on 3 o' clock high
Thank you Addie for reacting Rush Hour starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. Next time reacts the sequels Rush Hour 2 and 3
"Don't nobody understand the words that are coming outta your mouth man!" Oh wait, that's Rush Hour 2...well there's a preview! 👀
You might like Rumble in the Bronx.
Jackie Chan always does his own stunts, even the most dangerous ones. At the beginning, when two containers also slammed into each other with him in between, it was real. Jackie almost got killed. In Hong Kong, those high-up scenes were shot without a safety net, to save the backers' money. When Jackie came to Hollywood and saw all the precautions, he said, "Oh! So safe!"
His style is so much different from the usual martial-arts movies. In most of them, the great master is ultra-serious and ultra-graceful. Jackie Chan fights with an economy of movement, with an expression on his face that says he's either terrified or is sure he isn't going to win. Plus he always gets hurt. For real.
It is more dissention
6:29. Mark Rolston (Shawshank Redemption)
All 3 movies are great fun watches. I hope you watch them all. The 2nd movie is even better than the first!
Jackie always has bloopers in his movies.
The reason of James Carter doesn't want to team up with partners because of his father died cause of his partner didn't back him up. I suspect that James Carter's father's partner is corrupt cop. He's the reason of James Carter losing his father.
I hope everybody react about Lee and Carter discover the truth about Ricky Tan is truly responsible for Lee's father's death at Rush Hour 2 movie.
One of the best Dynamic Duos
Fun fact, we actually don’t live in a democracy we live in what they call a representative republic. Very big difference.
A classic, all The Rush Hour movies are great and my favourite is the 2nd, but all of them are definitely worth watching.
Hi Addie!🙂Yes, the other films in the Rush Hour series are very enjoyable too. They are kind of a guilty pleasure viewing, where you are really more interested in the buddy cop partnership, than the actual plot of the film. Nice reactions to your first Rush Hour film!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Consider the move "Mr. Holland's Opus" to react to. A great movie and not many others have reacted to it
All three are fun movies. They are a great duo!
I think I prefer Rush Hour 2 but this is still a pretty solid movie.
Of course it's also great seeing Jackie Chan. Knowing he does all his own stunts it's just incredible to see his abilities.
The other movies are good fun as well. I like the second in particular. There is also a prototype of sorts with Chris Tucker and Charlie Sheen called Money Talks. A lot more swearing and a lot less kung foo with an "on the run" thing going on. It has a special place in my heart. I can never seem to find it on blu-ray so I'm guessing maybe it's one of those forgotten gems.
I love this movie and love your reaction! You've reacted to so many great movies that I've watched for years and your reactions are always so much fun.
Jackie Chan's acrobatic, prop-oriented action and outtake credits are iconic.
Rush Hour 2 is just as good, if not better, than the first so I strongly recommend at least that one.
There are 3 Rush Hour movies , Rush Hour, Rush Hour 2, and. Rush Hour 3. Each are very good according to most reviews i have read or heard. Also one comment already mention it that being Jackie Chan’s movie Shanghai “Noon”is also a very good and fun movie with similar comedy to that of the Rush Hour series. Shanghai Noon does have a follow up and or sequel called Shanghai Knights. Both Shanghai Noon And Shanghai Knights pair Jackie Chan up with actor Owen Wilson in the same ay Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker were pair up in the Rush Hour trilogy.

AYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
"Next time be polite to my nuts" THAT'S CRAZY
You're gonna love this one!
It's hilarious!
Thank you for watching and reacting to this great movie. And I was so worried you weren't going to show your reaction to the bloopers as some reactors don't. Most Jackie Chan movies have some great and funny bloopers. You should check out some of his older movies, Mr. Nice Guy, Who am I? and Rumble in the Bronx, Also another great buddy action movie is Shanghai Noon, it has Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson. Hope you watch Rush Hour 2 and 3 as well.
You should check out some of Jackie's older movies. I recommend; Who am I?, Rumble in the Bronx, First Strike, Super Cop, and Legend of the Drunken Master.
Love Rush Hour Films....you need to see them All
Then you need to see 👀 Jackie Chan Owen Wilson in Shanghai Noon & Shanghai Knights.....Acton Comedy
Jackie Chan & Jet Li Forbidden Kingdom mythical fantasy
the whole trilogy is solid
You should check out some older Jackie Chan stuff. He stunts and choreography got severely watered down in this and later movies due to Hollywood insurance and safety restrictions.
Maybe try Rumble in the Bronx as a good jump-off point
Such a fun movie Ive lost count how many times I've watched it. Can't wait to see your reaction to part 2 and 3.they are all a fun watch
'Money Talks' starring Chris Tucker & Charlie Sheen 🤘
If you decide to watch more "Jackie Chan movies, I would love to see Mr. Nice Guy and "Rumble in Bronx.👍🏼
The Rush Hour trilogy is probably one of my favourite trilogies out there. The movies aren't all that good, but they're all a lot of fun and so really enjoyable!
Rush Hour 2 is as good or maybe even better.
Rush Hour 3 is a little weaker, but still pretty great.
They're HOPEFULLY getting ready to make Rush Hour 4. Chris and Jackie have been wanting to do it for several years now, and it sounds like it's finally happening.
Shanghai Noon and its sequel are great buddy comedies with Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson.
Your reaction was so much fun to watch. I hope you do Rush Hour 2. It's a blast also!
great reaction Addie...you have to watch "The Tuxedo" as well, so funny
Thanks for the react!! I'm a huge fan of the Rush Hour films!! Please tell me you'll react to Rush Hour 2 & 3
Wow. I can't believe you're watching this awesome movie. This is cool. I was very happy to enjoy this with you "Addie🎆🌷
This movie's hilarious af, you gotta watch the other two 😂
There are 3 total and they are working on the 4th, and Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are both coming back!
You should check out Shanghai Noon as well. It's Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson in a western-comedy.
After you watch the next two, an underrated chris tucker movie is "Money Talks" with him and charlie sheen.
25:54 😅
If you like this you should check out some of Jackie Chans older movies like Police Story the fight scenes and stunts are amazing.
War. What is good for? Absolutely Nothing 🎵.
Jacky Chan survived getting hit by Bruce Lee. I think he can handle a little girl.
10:14 why in the world, would you say that you do not ever say that Jackie 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Please react to Lord of War, War Dogs, A Simple Favor, The Big Short, Mr and Mrs Smith, Alpha Dog, The Wolf of Wall Street, Drive Me Crazy, Father of the Bride (91), The Devil’s Advocate, The Other Guys and Baywatch (17)
Chris Tucker did a hilarious movie before this series of movies called Money Talks. He pairs up with Charlie Sheen and Paul Sorvino...very funny.
I'm glad you enjoyed this one. You'll probably like 2 as much or more. Such a fun buddy cop flick.
This is more of a Chris Tucker movie than Jackie one. The second one is much better but far from the quality stunts and fights of his Hong Kong movies. Try the 2004 New Police Story, Drunken Master 2 and Wheels on Meals.
Another great Chris Tucker movie with Charlie Sheen is called Money Talks. Also check out the movie Friday with Chris Tucker and Ice Cube
This is just the start of this fun franchise. Check out the suquels when you get a chance.
