This is the guy who does videos where he meticulously sorts out colored beans or Legos, then slams the tray they are on. He might be trending that way a bit. I mean, that's not normal.
as someone who already has to track their tasks at work, this video is really stressing me out. I would have anxiety if I had to do this for my entire life. But I understand its probably very useful for people who need control and organization
Yeah... I think the goal of time tracking at work is making sure you're doing work. Doing so for yourself is to see if you're spending time in a way that's consistent with your life goals.
Ive been tracking my life for the past four years. Obviously things dont plan out sometimes and i may waste a couple of hours It really helps me be concious of my time. Its helping with my internet addiction. I have lowered from a whole day to 2- 3hours. Hopefully my goal is to go acouple of months each year without it. By tracking ive also lost weight, saved a good amount of money, stopped watching tv as much, stopped going to eat fast food out of boredom and having more control of my life. Thats so true about routine. Just this january i wanted to stop coming home from work. The local skating place had an event for a month for a dollar each day. I had to get used to going by myself to places. It was nerve wrecking funny thing is i met others while there. I hadnt put skates on for years but i had a great time. You want to spend time enjoying life and having more fun.
I have been tracking my time like this ever since my undergraduate days. Just in my head. Very helpful. Rather than doing whatever I do attitude, this helps you prepare for things beforehand.
@@BlakRainbow39 well it worked out really great for me. I could work on reports or study for exams 2 weeks ahead of the deadline, and it felt so good not to have that terrible anxiety the day before the exam or a big presentation. So, it wasn't a terrible idea, random person. Cheers.
I did something very similar throughout uni and it helped me greatly be more time efficient, productive and overall helped me balance work/uni/social/church worlds really well
I'll just download that app to make myself feel guilty of being an extreme procrastinator and start working more on my projects I have to do for school. Cause I never get something done..
i'd like to see more of these but with people with different lifestyles like parents, both couple and single... also people with busy schedules and they learn how to use ther time better...

I don't think it needs a multitasking option - when you're reading while on the bus, or listening to a podcast while working out, or writing a paper while your dinner is in the oven, think about which of those activities are active vs passive and track the active ones. Or stop and think about which of your tasks is the one you actually care about - based on your reasons for tracking your time, do you care that your commute was 30 minutes, or that you spent that half hour reading?
Kevin your life might appear boring but you are not. I've always enjoyed you through my years of Buzzfeed viewership. I mean c'mon. You have the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man in a place of honor on your top shelf.

I think this would be very interesting to do just to get a good grasp of how much time I actually spend on things, especially since I am a student that do not have lessons every day. Think I might try this out over the next few weeks and over the summer to see how much I actually spend time on! Sounds like a good tool!
This is definitely a great idea for content creators! Just so you can have the data and knowledge, you can figure out where you need to spend more time or what platforms you need to grow. I think I’m going to try this out for a week. Thank you!
im much like kelsey, i feel like i overwork myself even though i dont work all that much (i go to uni so i consider that and studying etc my work atm) but i feel like i dont have freetime and burned out all the time. It's fhe mental effort that is there. Additionally, i've tried this thing of tracking through calender. But even making a to do list daily burns me out and stresses me out. It's really hard and sucks because I judge myself all the time.
Are you spending a lot of time thinking about school when you're doing other things? If so, that could be where all of your mental energy is going. If you time track, just remember to kind to yourself. You can't just add everything to your to do list and expect it to get done. You will never have a perfect day where ever minute is spent being productive: your mind will fight you. Take the time to take a walk, have a snack, etc. Also, prioritize your tasks, you'll feel like you got more done.
Plus--THIS is your work!! So really your work is a lot more fun, dynamic, free-flowing and interesting than many people stuck in a day-to-day office grind!! Work-life balance for you is kind of a joke, in a way! Not to be rude, but many can’t show up in jeans n a tank; super casual attire and mode and expect to keep their job!!
Im already constantly checking the clock and obsessed with time management and how long things take me (that aren’t open ended activities like hanging out with friends if I have nothing else for the day planned) management this would make me feel even crazier. I would actually like to get away from being like this. I do make sure to make time to relax at least..
As a parent who also freelances from home, my life is extremely routine-based. I have extremely consistent times with pretty much everything because if not then nothing would get done. I am jealous of your sleep percentages. I average 6.25 hours of sleep a night.
I sleep for 3-6 hours every night and then i have like 9 hours of school, 30 minutes 2 times a day eating, 1-2 hours working out and im just on my phone or dawing for the rest of the day and most of my nights, (and I of course shower 👀 unless i honestly have no motivation to get out of bed)

A better app to use for this is life cycle because its tracks where you go and then if it couldn’t tell where you were you add it in it’s a lot easier also there is another app for that that tracks your sleep and how well you sleep and it’s called sleep cycle and it tracks your sleeping and enters it into your other app
