Ben Baker my aunt from nc lives in a trailer home and its low key raw. We live in chicago in a single family home with 3 floors. And in that trailer home it was spacious. There was 3 rooms, a fat ass kitchen and a living room. It was pretty large all things considered, given it needed some repairs, and i wouldnt have set it up the way they did. But if they cleaned it up and inverted a thousand it would be great. The whole place was bigger then the first apartment my parents had when i was 12. 💀

The trailer for a tiny house alone cost 4-5 grand. Add in materials, electrical, plumbing, etc there's no way a fully functional tiny house similar to that size cost 5-8 grand even if you build it yourself. A 16 ft tiny house with all materials and systems would cost around 15 grand, if you build it yourself. 20-25 if you have it built and delivered for you.

I don't think it's fair to say any tiny house over $100k is a "rip off." These are for people who are driven by something other than affordability. It's for someone who is choosing to live in a small space verses someone who is forced into one.
Think of it this way: You don't buy a Tesla to save money on gas.

It’s a little crass to go from homeless people living in a bus to “LOOK AT HOW MUCH MONEY WE WASTED ON THE AESTHETIC OF THIS TINY HOUSE!”

The first house just gave me a mini anxiety attack...why did I think I would want a tiny house.

exact opposite for me. That said, the biggest turn-off for a tiny home for me is the toilet. I don't like the idea of a composting toilet. Too much work. But it gives you ideas.
I'd suggest looking into Gary Changs home on youtube. A small, 500 square foot space that transforms to hide things away, so it looks very clean.

@@ivenstorm it was mainly the top bed area that gave me that anxiety, Because the walls on both sides were to close.

The Acorn is on the smallest side of a usual Tiny Home. Right now, the average is around 250sq ft, and that can easily double depending on how much lift space you add.
I'm lucky bc the tallest person in my family is 5'8" so it's going to be easy to have standing room in my lofts. And that's only if I choose to build on a trailer. I'm seriously considering buying some land and building a tiny cabin that way I don't have a height restriction. Plus, it just doesn't make sense to build on a trailer when I've got to way to move it.
Anyway, there's no need to feel closed in. I've been in 150sq ft tiny homes that felt open and spacious bc all the furniture had multiple purposes. Check ou a channel called Living Big in a Tiny House (I think). They have featured at least 150 different tiny homes.

I follow David have for years you can’t get one of his houses less than 100k which defeats the purpose of being tiny. I’ve been following this movement for over 10 plus years and it just boggles my mind how exorbitant the prices have become. Totally defeats the purpose.
