Yup.. you did it right. Only other thing you can do is clean termanels on coil pack and the plug into it. Check air/fuel mix on the carb. 2 small screws in front, low on carb.turn one side in till it runs bad.turn screw out to make it more lean. repeat same way on the other side. check gap on the plugs (i run AC/Delco plugs). NO CHEEP PLUGS. Also... I run Balden plug wires because of heat range (the ONLY place you can get them is Napa auto parts). After that. the only thing to check is the timeing (as you said. Next to that is the valves. guides or seats. As you know that is a bitch. like your v logs. thank you :)

My gosh they sure complicated changing a distributor cap. Nice work!

I ordered and received a new custom radiator. Everything was perfect EXCEPT the distance between the transmission ports was 11" not the 8.5 inches I had specified! If you ever have to get a new radiator DON'T ever think the 11" spacing will work. It won't. Those 304ss lines won't bend for it. I bought it from Radiator Supply House in Oregon. I use regular gas with Marvels...always.🐈

Not sure, but I didn't see you put the button with spring below the rubber spacer below coil pack. People been putting copper button post with spring to plastic distributor hole top with spring on top, then rubber spacer then coil pack on that. Maybe you did but I didn't see it in video after the grease.

thanks for the video I guess I will just replace coil cap and rotor as the '86 will have some brittle wires.

I think button post included with distributor cap or coil.

Looks like you needs spacers on the plug wires .they could cause misfire when they are too close together or to ground .zip ties work well
Just tie one loose around 4 wires and use 1 between each wire .

Do you ever have to discharge the coil?
