The most influential film ever produced, even after 40 years it has universal acclaim, no film produced since has been able to come close to the influence, legacy or success of Close Encounters. Close Encounters is a perfect film, it is an intelligent and thought-provoking film.
What I love about this film is its whimsical, emotional, beautifully shot, and tells an amazing story this movie is my absolute favorite Spielberg film it's absolutely perfect
this film for me, is on par with 2001, both films feel like religious experiences to me and i cant stop crying and feeling numb during/after them. so much emotion, so many fantasies, yet so many limitations in the real world...idk how to articulate
A suggestion: The Beauty of _The Spy Who Loved Me._ It was also released in 1977. (I'm starting to think that the Academy Awards choose the best cinematography of that year; from the nominated movies)
Crazy how this is the first blockbuster in the history of cinema and yet it is nothing compared to blockbusters nowadays. Truly a great piece of filmmaking in every aspects.
@@davi6234 He's kind of right. Jaws wasn't intended as a blockbuster. It just happened to have the reception of what we now call a blockbuster movie. This is the first movie clearly produced to entertain mass audiences like Jaws did. But that's the difference, the intention.
Suggestions The beauty of Ran The beauty of 8 1/2 The beauty of Cries and Whispers The beauty of Nostalghia The beauty of L'avventura The beauty of Bande a Part
Love your choice of clips from the film and the unconventional music selection too. Brings it all alive again. Such beautiful work. 🤍 Thank you. patreon.com/TheBeautyOf
You forgot the shot of the lights coming up behind Roy"s truck, then rising straight up. When I was a kid in the theater, everybody reacted to that shot.
This is My all time favorite film and It never ever crossed my mind you would do one on it! ( despite the fact that I know it won the Best Cinematography oscar).

Is there any chance you can do 'O' Brother, Where Art Thou?', it was very influential on cinematography due to Roger Deakins providing the first use of color correction technology.
One of Spielberg's masterpieces! However, I think it was a really poor choice using music from "Transformers: The Last Knight" instead of John Williams' iconic score for the film.
Beautiful video. I wonder of you are gonna cover some of these movies like The darjeeling limited Vertigo Ran Aviator Shutter island 2046 Kung fu hustle Rango Shadow My dear concubine
Please do one about Kontroll, it’s a very unique hungarian movie from 2003. It was shot entirely underground in the subways, and has amazing cinematography.
The *Original* Alien movie! 👍 Its unique; has great effects; and truly worthy to watch The irony is Government *admitted* the existence of ufo's right now

this film's last 30-40 minutes were so mesmerizing
Good movie. Beautiful cinematography.
One of my favorite films of all time. Wish I could watch it at a cinema. Only few artists are capable of this kind of wonder and visual poetry
0:49 one of my favorite shots in any movie

Brilliant film, one of the best movies ever made.
Great cinematography...Great movie...
A Spielberg masterpiece.
Probably Spielberg's most underrated film.
Ton timing sur la dernière coupe est magistrale !
From a budget of $20 million (sizeable at the time), this went on to become one of the top grossing films of the 1970s.
the cinematography is gold 💰💰💰💰

The first blockbuster is Jaws

Jorge González yes exactly
Wasn't it Jaws? But doesn't Gone With the Wind still has the biggest box office with the inflation correction? I don't get that.
Rest In Peace to the man who made this beauty: Douglas Trumbull.
Beautiful 🖤
Love it!
Underrated gem
De las pocas películas sobre extraterrestres que son buenas de verdad
