I tried it aswell, ended 2-8 in two sets. 4 times battle began with steel in opposite team, of course swaps were hard countered too, so I couldn't do a thing. Conclusion is, if John Hanke doesn't want you to win, you will not win, no matter team (of course if your opponent is resonable player who saw typing counter picks at least once in his life).
@@FlailingSummons Normally, I would agree with this sentiment. However, I got battling today with a team I just happened to choose randomly, rather than trying to build a team using PvPoke. The team held together surprisingly well all things considered. I used Skarmory lead, Umbreon as closer and shadow Dragonair as the switch. Went 18 - 8 (had one game left over from last set played) which equates to a .692 win%, bringing my season stats to 50 - 34 (.59%), which is what you would expect given I could note about 5 or 6 mistakes from my opponents today which could have helped them flip some matchups. Eventually, I switched it up and used Umbreon as lead with Skarmory on the back, mostly because I was seeing a few counters to Skarmory up front, but the risk is always being paired up with fairies. I didn't see *too many fairies* mind you, surprising me. A few of the matchups were definitely hard losses, but there were a fair number of matches where I felt it was more or less equal in terms of the chance of winning, and indeed I messed up a couple of games I probably could have won. I also probably could have lost a few games I ended up winning, so it evens out sometimes. Meh. Maybe it's all in your head. I might stick to picking my own teams for a while lol.
You're not supposed to copy content creator teams the very same day you post. 4head. Once the video is out, everyone will have their counters. They do well because they tried it before posting about it.
I also tried this team today and it went very well. I think all sets positive, two times 5-0, and three times 3-2 Steel Pokemon are really diificult to deal with, especially I had a hard time with Galarian Stunfisk, but there is no perfect team which is strong against each other
@4:45 that’s me, I recognised you at the start and I don’t know why I thought I could bait 😅. Anyways gg! Copied your team straight after and it did me wonders.
My guess is, this wasn't intended to be ABA. Rather a toxic 2-shield-through-whatever-lead and then RPS the backline, that was originally created with Shadow Dragonair, except this version also wins switch advantage over the Shadow Dragonair lead version.
I have been running a ABA weak team all week but mine was slightly different with skeledirge , lanturn and alolan marrowack and let’s say it’s been interesting to see what people are playing this season
I like ABC teams sometimes, you just throw 3 pokemon based in intuition with them all being somewhat safe, like that old ultra league team of Snorlax, Gengar and Shadow Machamp. AAA teams are fun too if you can bet you are more than often NOT going to see a specific threat. Like triple grass currently is kinda possible in some higher elos where people don't see fire
@@adrianmacklin418 I used to run Shadow Gligar, Charjabug and Shadow Poliwrath, alternating the lead sometimes, but that was last season. You could say Shadow Dragonair, Whiscash and Skarmory is an ABC team too I think that still works, but Whiscash as safe swap isn't as flexible and definitely not Skarmory
Been trying this team and in my experience it’s very easy to get walled. It either works because you don’t get walled or you get beat hard because you do get walled. Just put flash cannon on skarmory and hoping for more coverage with that. Maintaining switch is almost a guaranteed win with this team.
Wow that was me in the first battle with the "very unconventional team" bastiodon-lickitung -azumaril. I thought I'm gonna win that one until I saw your Lanturn, which ended my 17-match winning streak with this unconventional team. I'm just a fan, please take easy on me @ZyoniK.
Ran into this team yesterday with my Bastiodon lead, was very mystified with what my opponent was running (ABA flyer) - guess I need to check PvPoke's top performing teams more
bro everyone saying this is not a good team is dim i’m already ace rank for this season and i’ve been using this team all week, i track my wins and losses and i went 95-30
This team play more like an _ABB_ because altaria is weak to fairy (you'll see mostly azu) and skarm/lanturn (which is another AB core of its own that can beat anything in the back as long as you take switch with altaria) *beats* fairy. It feels like an ABA because double flyer weak to rock but in reality this plays like the the run of the mill SDragonair/Lanturn/Skarmory team altered to beat the mirror because Altaria > SDragonair (whoever takes the switch takes the matchup as I said before). Really strong indeed.
I lead Charm to counter teams like this, and that Empoleon double Dragon team has been RPSing me to oblivion 😭 there's no algorithm, just Zyonik influencing people
Of course you were. Me and everyone else breaks out the counters to UA-camr teams right after a video drops. This won't team won't be useful for a few weeks when people forget about it.
I also have same iv lanturn.. This is rank 23 in great league but unfortunately this 0/15/15 iv's lanturn have 1486 cp... Not the best cp for great league.. If this iv's lanturn have 1490 0r 1490+ cp then it's looks like pretty good cp for the great league 🥲
You should not be auto losing to Steels. That’s the whole point of ABA, you’re expected to hail merry your lead and either keep alignment for your other A in the back or draw out the counter, in this case Steel. If you’re always losing to a single Steel type, you’re piloting it wrong. A Bastiodon lead is horrible but it can be easily recoverable unless they're running some supremely wack Basti double Steel which at that point it's just a terrible counter team... you'll run into that issue no matter what team you run.
Bruh! I feel so validated! To start the season I wanted to do my own thing with the changes. Been running Altaria on the lead, licky and Lanturn. Altaria was on no one's radar-- makes a newer player like me feel like I'm getting somewhere. 😂

Eh, personally for me cups with 3 or less types feel like they get pretty stale with the same few Pokémon being on every single team, not to mention there’s 2 weeks of it.

yep. sometimes you'll get like 2-3 sets in a row where no matter what your team is you're hard countered almost every match.

Tried this team 2 days ago, first set I went 4-1 and then the set after I went 2-3. Ran into a lot of wacky teams on the second set
aren´t you suposed to lose lead instead of swap in BAB teams?
Haven’t tuned in for a while, but started getting back into Pokémon recently. Glad to see you’re still uploading!
Great content. Seeing different teams and finding out how to use them is very helpful
Glad you think so!

Great job with talking through the process Z loved it!
That Bastiodon, Lickitung and Azumarill team was really unconventional, never seen anything like it
he said on a video featuring altaria+lanturn+skarm

can we get the elite fast tm this season when we reach lvl 19? Niantic didn't offer the information of it this season
I played this team too, and it often comes down to 1v3 lanturn sweep
Im curious on how dragonair, altaria and pelliper win their matches
Moonblast is a legacy move 🥸
Yea
How can I see those teams on PvPoke? I haven't found that option
This team needs flash cannon skarmory
Yeah that could work! I'm low on tm's though so not for me just yet
Never thought of that. Thanks for the tip 😎
Instead of sky attack or moon blast?
Idk zyonik but i got ads of those down there hair trimmer ads on this vid😂

How do you look at a list of top team in pvpoke? I tried looking for it nothing shows up. Only thing that shows it top Pokémon in each league
Click in the tab Train it then click top performers
this is funny to see I love ABA lines. I've been using a coupe of teams very close to these, didn't know about that area on pvpoke thx Z

Anything thatll replace skarmory nicely? Surprisingly dont have one ready. Could empoleon work?
Gligar is a decent pick.
Every team got a weakness on a Blind tree there's no perfect team I will recommend Charjabug + Gligar core it took me to Veteran yesterday
🔥🔥🔥
Whats the 3rd pokemon ?
The team was good I have a question I want to make a Goodra team would lantern or Registeel. I don’t understand why trainers use lantern
People use lanturn because it threatens a massive portion of the meta every single season
I run Mantine on the lead with Skeledirge/Whiscash in the back. ABA light.
A B A and A B B formations?
Literally yesterday and the day before I ran this EXACT team, except with whiscash in place of lanturn 💀
Altaria lead and everything
Whenever ZyoniK drops a video the first battle I go into is always his team.

I actually been using a similar team.. Alteria, Dewgong and Lanturn...
Can anybody please help me..
Should I evolve my bad iv shadow dragonair or a good iv Normal dragonair??
PLZZZZZZZ HELLLPPPPPPPP……..
Tried as well and any rock electrics and ice destroys this team
Tried it and was 15-5 but it is not an easy team, try to get alignment or you are screwed
any tips
@@boolaidman1520 try to save the Lanturn
try lanturn, golbat, obstagoon.
This explains what happened today. My team was dominating but I saw this team 3 games out of each of my 2 sets.
Tried ferratorn, registeel and whishcash and went 15-0
Yeah that team walled the crap out of me. Except it was something other than whiscash. Regi and ferro together are good.
So that’s why I faced this team 8 times today and won every time 😭

I can’t even see this guys screen why does he have all that stuff on it. I just wanna watch the battle 😂
My team - RAICHU, BEARTIC, SWELLOW
Teams so bad I tried a day or two ago just bc it was top ranked on pvpoke but it just doesn’t work at all lmfao
Literally any steel type and games over lmfao
