Hey Y'all, CoopCrate what a great idea and product line. Very fun video today. I love marjoram I use it all the time esp in tomato sauce, like spaghetti or all the Italian dishes for sure. It adds a sweet note to the tomato esp if you are avoiding sugar. Thank you see you next week
Im so sorry. I laughed at your pronunciation in another video. It was meant in good fun. I mispronounce words all the time and just have to laugh at the crazy stuff that comes out of my mouth ! I really hope i didn't hurt your feelings. I've been gardening for decades, but you're new to it & you will learn. Meanwhile, I'm new to chickens and you're the expert. Kinda makes us even. Lol Another great video. I had no idea there were subscription boxes for chickens. I'm gonna check it out. Thanks !
Cool stuff! Of all the "homesteaders and chicken ladies" that I'm subscribed to on UTube, I feel you are my go to when I have a real question! First some background; I'm in East Texas. I have 15 hens with 2 roosters. One of them 1 of them is 3+yo (Buff Orrington) , 2 (Dominique and Easter Egger) are just over 1yo, 4 (Golden Comets and one Grey Brahma) are fall chicks 9 months old...these 7 chickens were averaging 5 eggs a day for 40+ eggs a week. Once I moved my 8 (4 Golden Comets, 1 Easter Egger, 1 New Hampshire Red and 2 Barred Rocks)new chicks outside from the brooder about 3 weeks ago, egg production has dropped an now someone is eating eggs! Outside air temp has been over 100 for a week and predicted for another week with no rain in sight! I have no idea who the egg eater is???? Because of all the age differences (4 of of my 8 new chicks are a month older than the other 4) I have three roost boxes and all three boxes have nest boxes. Funny thing is the only use the left hand nest in all three houses!😂 Any suggestions? 😢
Forgot to talk about food, I use a 20% crumble that I mix with a "Super Scratch" and Black Oil Sunflower seeds. They seem to eat it all, they have an "area" they free range but they've eaten all the grass, so I pitch weeds from the garden in to them nearly everyday. They get snacks everyday too; tomatoes, Black Fly Larvae, cooked rice, salad, cooked potatoes and other things that happen to normally be headed for the trash that chickens can eat! I also put a pile of oyster shells out for them as well!
Oh thank you! Yes it is common for them to stop laying from from stress of adding new flock members. Any amount of mundane stress can cause them to take a break from laying. They should begin soon. I recommend collecting the eggs very often if possible to prevent the egg eater from collecting her meal. And also putting ceramic of wooden eggs in your nest boxes, so when she does peck, it will be a negative experience for her. and it hopefully encourage her to stop the bad behavior
@@BockBockBouquet I put my wooden eggs in the nest boxes about the time I made my first reply to you. I began picking up the eggs everytime I heard one of my hens "singing". I found one of my hens has/had soft shells. So it was most likely getting broken while they were moving the eggs around. Ester, my oldest Easter Egger likes to organize the eggs (I had been putting one wooden egg per nest box), she is always moving most of the eggs to one nest box. So she could have been cracking the egg. We are back to to a semi normal number of eggs (4 per day) but I think one baby and one 10 month old Golden Comet have Gape worms! The 10 month old is coughing or sneezing all the time and yawning. One of the late January is also yawning but not coughing. Do you think Apple Cider vinegar is strong enough to get ride of the worms?
Will “critique” (feedback ) for future videos just a suggestion- if you could film future videos in a closer view can’t see as you were unboxing. Also curious if all the products were or are made in the USA. Also just to clarify hocks is spelled like you thought “h-o-c-k-s” so that’s why I’m thinking possibly some things are from china(tend to misspell things ) just curious. And as a person in previous comment the pronunciation is like marge (think Marge Simpson “ then “Or” then “Um” like ummm I don’t know lol probably made that more confusing lol ua-cam.com/video/N53SZE7FsjM/v-deo.html
"Marge-or-am" just like it looks! Great video and the splay leg one helped one of my new chicks (chicken keeper since 1995!)
Lots of cutie pies! ❤❤❤
