In this free video drum lesson, I want to teach you some of my favourite beats and fills from the song “No Excuses” by Alice In Chains with Sean Kinney on drums.
The song features a lot of syncopated grooves and a heavy use of “effect” cymbals. This video lesson shows you how to replicate all of those sounds on a standard three Tom kit.

Great song. Great intro. Didnt know he did doubles on the hats. I always just bashed it out as a ruff single stroke roll. Even more respect for the dude knowing that its doubles. Very creative track. The unplugged version on youtube is a great watch/listen. Thanx
