I have one and love it! Gravity knives being illegal in a lot of places is so stupid. It’s no more dangerous than any other knife. Thankfully I live in Ga we can carry anything down here.
Where i live carrying a knife is illegal regardless if it's a 2 inch key chain knife. Now that is stupid.
Same in Texas, they decriminalized knives and when a news station asked the governor if he put the citizens in danger he replied that there have been no increases in drive by knifings whatsoever!

Some of the laws are funny to us but it is what it is. In Australia legal owners of guns must have max 10 rounds capacity of a magazine. It's so funny to me cuz 11 rounds is dangerous and 10 not. The problem are illegally held firearms not the legal ones.
Here in New York you can be detained or arrested just for having any switch blade on you.
The law on gravity knives expired on 2019 but the laws are purposely written in a arbitrary, indefinite, and confusing manner, so you can still become a criminal even if you are following the rules:
1. *Fully concealing a fixed blade knife under 4 inches.*
(You cannot carry it in any type of way that may expose the knife even slightly, such as in the pocket with a pocket clip)
2. *Not possessing a knife that falls under the “Dangerous knife” category*
3. *Not being a criminal, person with a criminal record, or possessing the knife with intent of endangering others.*
Even utility blades (box cutters) can be considered a “dangerous instrument” or a “potential weapon”.
Remember folks, it’s only illegal if you get caught with it 😂

That's about what titanium frame knives cost though. All my nicest knives are in the 200-300$ range because that's what nice knives cost.

I am allowed to have any kind of knife in my state. I can have one but carry a Microtech OTF. Also like my Piranha’s.
Is this more of a novelty or is there an actual advantage over assisted opening knives & things like that?
It works as a knife. So you decide.
It all depends on how you use it. Gravity knives have the benefit of being easy to use one handed which is something I like in a pocket knife. I’m often holding something with one hand, that’s needs to be cut, and it’s nice to be able to use the other hand to operate the knife. Plenty of other knives are easy to open one handed but often harder to close one handed, at least without risking catching some skin between the body and blade. The only other knives I’ve had that worked great for that purpose were dual action automatic out the front knives but those don’t work very reliably when dirt or any other foreign material gets inside the knife body. Gravity knives can overcome more of that than the automatic knives can.

One ban I don't get is nunchucks. A solid stick of the same size is way more dangerous than a floppy stick.

Why are those knives? Even a worry for the government? They’re not really super fast. I mean they’re fast but they’re not switch. Planes are faster autos or faster. I mean I live in Massachusetts. Nothings legal but it’s just. I’ve always been amazed at those. Knives are have such scrutiny. It’s just weird.

Why dont knife makers make more of the stuff that sells well? Who wanted this blade shape? Very few. You know they will make some full size with a dual edge soon. My self and others are passing becuase we all know it will happen.

That is the OG model so the largest blade I think mine is 3.8 inches
This thing rattles worse than an Arizona Diamondback.. I held one yesterday, and from my personal experiences of collecting knives for 8 years now, it felt like junk, not going to lie. I wouldn't justify purchasing this knife, I would rather defend the Benchmade Narrows, yea it's slim, and it's smooth too. The price tag is an abomination though. Benchmade broke our bones on that one for sure but they always have. I know they're different knives, but I had to mention the Benchmade in case whoever is reading this comes up with the stupid:"just say you're broke" line whenever I'm honest about a knife 😂 which always cracks me up.

Didn’t you know. Cool looking knifes are more prone to killing innocent people. Laws are so silly. Same with guns. If the gun looks cool it’s more likely to kill. Lmao but butchers knifes are sold in every box store in America and the preferred choice of movie killers and slashers alike
