As someone who isn’t in the comp kards scene - I full heartedly agree with what you said - very deceiving and questionable as to what 1939 is planning to do
Not mentioning the format at all is a bit odd, yeah... I’m assuming they’ll just stick to the previous OCC format. What really upsets me is the fact that the December/January seasons are going to count for the big thing. 😵
I wonder how the Chinese community feel about all this. I assume that they now constitute the largest player pool? I'm guessing at that. But still it seems like they have taken over the tourneys lately.

Im not upset, i stopped caring a long time ago. I play a few games like once a week or month depends how long a week is, but im not really missing kards these days. Sadly.
That makes me so upset, I've joined end of April 2024 and didn't achieve much only Marshall every month and biggest box every week, and I'm just losing my passion to grind up to think about e-sport here. Company's are learning us that shouting is nothing for them so will vote my wallet. No more battle pass... 😡
No more money for 1939, but I like the game and I hope JKing never quits completely and never stops making an amazing content for our entertainment. I would better support JKing for his honesty and passion for Kards. I'll keep playing and I hope you will play and stream and upload too, Champ
I think you have to put this into the context of their financial situation. I had a look at their most recent statement of 2023 and it doesn't look good. I'm sure their shareholders have put the CEO under immense pressure to try and stem the losses and cash out flow. They burnt through nearly $2M in 2023 and only had $0.5M on hand at the end of that year. I'm assuming the investors have had to inject more cash to keep them afloat in 2024.
I've been mentioning this when discussing the current situation on the Kards discord server and a dev actually called me out and called me a liar LOL glad I'm not the only one who takes note of this. That being said 2024 apparently was a big improvement for them
