Keep in mind if you are short/have short arms, (I’m 5’8”) the stock is a little long and can cause you to reach a bit more than you may be used to compared to an AR-15. For a bench rifle the stock isn’t too much of an issue. I like the versatility of this stock but the comfort is a little iffy for me so far. Good install video.
That is very true. I never thought to mention that while recording as I'm 6'3". Most of the time I don't think about stuff like that unless I pick up a Bullpup...then I'm reminded of it quickly.. lol. I'll definitely keep it in mind as a point to note on future videos. Thank you for the input and kind words!
the stock, press nipple all the way down with screwdriver, than it will come off tube. i have a commercial ar {17 years old} with rifle buffer tube, it fits ok but had to grind off a little of lower receiver so nipple can fit in and also secure screww to back of stock. fit perfect on my rem870 shotgun with adj buffer tube. no more eye searching for scope and red dot.
If you have a vent hole in the end of your buffer tube you need to install one more securing screw right in front of the butt plate. Not all buffer tubes have it. Just wanted to make sure you knew that was there. Otherwise, great instructional video!
@@cultfriction5556 yeah it’s definitely a hefty stock. For me it counter balanced my SIG 716 Gen1 out a good bit… but if your rifle is lighter in the front then it’ll certainly make it back heavy
Adding this to the comments. Hopefully it will filter to the top. This video is seriously incorrect. In order to install this stock you need to remove the rubber endplate which will reveal a hole into which you need to screw the stock onto the vent hole at the end of the buffer tube. Based on this video the stock is just hanging on the end of the buffer tube. This error is pointed out in comments below but the author never updated this video or added the description.
@@stephentrindall8484 You are correct, although I did not intentionally try to mislead or give “seriously incorrect” information. It was an oversight, and I apologize. I’ll update the description asap however I no longer own the rifle. I do know who does, but I think he may have swapped out the stock and sold the PRS. I’ll check with him to find out. If he still has it in the same configuration I’ll do an update video. Again, my apologies, I had no intent to mislead anyone.
I’ve noticed a lot more of the newly shipped Magpul stuff has not come with stickers. Quite disappointing, it’s a small, but nice addition. And I agree, that cheek riser can be rough. I think they sell a “pad” for it that clips on, but it’s just another piece of polymer that would be uncomfortable I’d think.
@@aplusdad it locks in with the two set screws at the front of the stock and the small notch (it’s hard to see in the vid) that fits in to the back of the lower receiver.
Thanks for the question my friend. My first inclination is to say no. Only because of how the stock pairs directly up to the back of the lower receiver. It's been a good while since I've installed a LAW Tactical adapter on a rifle, so I cant remember 100% how everything gets put on the lower. Just trying to go by memory. You would be able to install the carbine buffer/castle nut on the LAW adapter and slide the stock over that, I'm just not certain that the stock would be able to securely/safely lock down.
@@FEARPaintball oh ok. That’s my biggest thing, because I saw how tightly it sat on that bar and then thought, that would be soooo lovely and secure!!!! Thank you very very much and thanks again for an excellent video. Perhaps I’ll reach out to Law Tactical themselves an see??
I got a great deal on Black Friday - going to attempt carbine length set up on 6.5 creedmoor. Question -for our benefit, what transpired to result in the breakage of the stock you removed?
Any problems with the charging handle hitting the cheek rest when it's all the way up? Thinking about getting one but not sure if I'll need to change out to rifle receiver extension.
Sorry, Not trying to be mysterious about it. With UA-cam's new policies regarding gun channels/content, I'm trying to stay within the lines as much as possible. I already had to go on all my videos..or at least as much as I could find, and remove links to websites because that is a big no-no from YT apparently. I suppose quoting a price isn't a big deal.. I was just being overly cautious. For that I, again, apologize.
No need for apology and thank you for the video. I did go to the site suggested by another poster and was already to pull the trigger on the Magpul (Pun intended) but went with the Luth MBA 3 instead. Was cheaper, but more importantly the length was a little shorter. My 18 inch barrel has to go in the case now with a shoehorn The Magpul would have had it hanging out. Now all I need is a AR15 Anonymous program so I can stop upgrading. I use to say " I can stop anytime I wanted " But now I know I need professional help.. LOL Thank again for the video. Take care..

Ah, I didn't realize that. Never thought to check. Thanks for letting me know!
Does it come with the screw ?? How about if you need the bigger system in it
Was on the fence about buying this stock, but after seeing this, I’m going to pick it up tomorrow.
Glad this helped you! This is the Gen 2 model. If you shop around you could probably score a good deal on it since the Gen3 is out.
Duh... This is the Gen 3. The "Gen4" which I believe is the PRS Lite is the one that was recently released.
@@FEARPaintball got the gen 3! Just put it on my sig m400 tread. Spot on, on a lot of stuff. Definitely adds weight.

Happy to help! I used the standard Milspec tube that came installed on the 716.

Awesomely video bro 👍🤜
Thanks man!
FEARProductions yes sir 👍
Ordered mine didn’t come with any stickers 😢 but non the less it’s an ok stock just wish the cheek riser would of had some padding on it

Does the castle nut plate matter or does the stock cover it?
nice! love it.
So what keeps it attached

I wish you would have shown how to remove the factory stock... it is part of the installation process.
Sarcasm?
I got a great deal on Black Friday - going to attempt carbine length set up on 6.5 creedmoor.
Question -for our benefit, what transpired to result in the breakage of the stock you removed?
Thats a good question. I might actually do a quick video on that...Stay tuned.
He’s a hack, that’s what transpired.
Is there any writing under the sling attachment on the stock
If you mean by the rear QD point...I believe it says PRS GEN3. Nothing by the front QD.
Any tips getting it to not slide off an A2 buffer? It stays in place most of the time, but a hard yank pulls it off the tube.
I’ve actually never had this happen to me. If I remember correctly there is a bolt that secures the rear of the stock to the buffer tube.
@@FEARPaintball I figured it out. Because I use a rifle tube, and not a carbine tube, I bought a screw to help anchor it. It's perfect now.
where can I buy adapter for carabine buffer tube?
This stock should be able to install on a carbine buffer tube by default. It will come with an adapter install on a rifle length tube if need be.
Any problems with the charging handle hitting the cheek rest when it's all the way up? Thinking about getting one but not sure if I'll need to change out to rifle receiver extension.
I will test this when I get home and let you know.
No it is far enough away that it doesn't
Is this stock for carbine or is it fir rifile as well as
It can be used on both. It will come with an adapter if you have a rifle length buffer tube.
What optic do you have
The optic that was mounted on the rifle in this video was a Nikon Prostaff 3x9
Is that a mil-spec or commercial buffer tube
did u ever get ur answer? my carbine buffer tube wont fit.... its too big
@whitecrownprince2926 I never got an answer I just used a rubber mallet and smacked it on mine
will this fit on an M1A with a troy industries body kit? Thanks in advance.
What muzzle break is that ?
That is an AAC Breakout 2.0
What Rifle is that???
tawaitai It’s a SIG 716 Gen 1
Wish I knew what a good sale price was.
