‘NAGALAND GOVT. SHOULD WORK OUT A BEFITTING MODEL FOR ULB ELECTIONS’ - SC JAMIR

Former Chief Minister of Nagaland and Former Governor to Maharashtra, Goa and Odisha, Dr S. C Jamir said that he made it clear to all concerned that the state should definitely have municipalities of urban organisation. Jamir stated that since Nagas are living in a progressive and civilized society, municipalities of urban organisation are a must.
He pointed out that Nagaland was formed a state through political negotiations and the state has a very distinct political identity. He also stated that the state has 60 assembly constituencies not based on area or population but rather due to a very peculiar political situation prevailing in Nagaland.
Regarding ULB election in Nagaland, SC Jamir pointed out that Government should work out a model befitting to the state
