I just finshed Peak which i read based on your recommendation. It has completely change my view of whats possible regarding skill acquisition. For me I plan to apply it to learning dance but I also plan to use the advice to teach my kids. I appreciate your channel and what you do.

Happy to have found this excellent video. I wonder if the count can play a role in this as well, for example, if you're tossing the lady's right hand on the 2 or 3 beat (in salsa on 1), it's unlikely you're telling her to do a right hand turn, because that toss should come around the 5 or 6. It's more likely you're going to block the turn.

You have a point, and that likely applies more to beginners who are going to guess what you want as opposed to following the signal. If you toss the hand in the neutral territory, regardless of the count, it shouldn't cause the follow to turn. If you're tossing the hand with an intention of a turn it could turn the follow on any count as well. Make sense? So the more experience the follow has, the more likely they are to interpret it correctly. -Robin
