    This is the correct way to teach! Starting "dumb" easy, 😉, and upping the ante as you go! Even I, 😅, can hopefully learn and fraggin' *remember* it, 😅, at a social! Keep up the good, detailed work Robin, much appreciated, especially for those of us who started salsa rather late in life (I'm a "youthful" 61...😏😉)...👍❤️

      PS: What's the difference between a lock and a loop? I figured it was just: with a lock you "pin" her hand to wherever it is, but then again, at 3:14, you label that as a "lock" but you let go immediately, so i'm confused

    • @thedancedojo
      @thedancedojo  2 місяці тому +1

      @@intrinsicload just interchangeable words. I typically use the word loop when im making a more circular shape around the head. You can do a lock and reverse it (not let go of the hand) or do a lock and drop (let go of the hand). -robin

    I am an intermediate lead and can put together a few fancy things but the smash hit at my last social was essentially...right walk into crossbody lead...done when we are side to side. It overshadowed the copas, flairs and inside turns I did into and out of it...to the point that follows were asking me where I learned it since they had apparently never done it that way before.
    The basics, jazzed up a bit, and strung together in unique ways can make their night.

    • @thedancedojo
      @thedancedojo  7 місяців тому

      Absolutely! Have any video of the move you mentioned? I can't quite imagine it. -Robin

    • @letsgo_inc
      @letsgo_inc 7 місяців тому

      @@thedancedojo no but I will attempt to describe it. It starts from when I am shadowed behind the follow, right to right, left to left. I got there usually by an inside turn ending in shadow or just having her walk into it.
      From there, she literally does a right walk with me leading it from behind for the first 8 counts which ends with us facing 180 from where we started.
      Next 8, she does crossbody footwork, again I am shadowed behind. It finishes in the exact spot and position we started. I never cross the track.
      The footwork and handwork is crazy simple, just need to get the timing pretty perfect to lead the 180 turns at either end.
      So many ways to insert checks, flairs, turns before after and apparently...no one else had done it at least around here.
