The S series Fujji cameras all produce high quality images. I picked a few up for students to use in a graphic arts class.

I remember seeing this when it was new! Didn’t buy it, but I remember playing with it in the store. Was one of the most impressive bridge cameras of its era.

Just brought the S700 home from a thrift shop. Your video was excellent! Thanks, Carmine. I have a modern camera but I love watching videos from seasoned photographers who frequently tell us that the camera doesn’t necessarily make the photographer. Some of my favourite photos over the decades have been from a 4 megapixel Pentax point and shoot and an old Nikon DSLR with a superb lens. Just subscribed to this channel. Thanks again.

Carmine I just love your videos... So warm ,personal, and spot on. I only learned about how I did not need to keep upgrading my system much to my wife's happiness. 🙃

Carmine, love your channel! But one thing I wish you would add when mentioning the older cameras is what storage card they take. I had an older Olympus that used some big card which was SLOW processing. You could about go out to lunch while it was processing an image!

Carmine, glad you are posting these (in a way at least): I have a lot of images from an old Kodak C875 (8 MP), which uses a CCD. I had been unable to figure out why a lot of the pics from it just plain look better than from other cameras I have owned up to 24 MP. I had attributed it to the Schneider lens it had, but the CCD was the real reason. The C875 did not even have stabilization. And I know film look- I shot film from 1973 to 2003. The only thing I don't like about your channel is that it may create buyer competition for CCD!

Great video Carmine! You nailed it. The photos at end were fantastic and support your point. The weak link between the camera and photograph is the person taking the photo. Learning is good. Lesson 281 is solid. My first digital camera was an Olympus C-4040 and I took that little camera everywhere. I still have it, along with my first film camera, a Nikon N2000. A camera is a tool. Learn about it, take care of it and most important use it. Cheers. Jim

I use one of these, great little camera. For a bridge camera from Fuji it is unusual in as much that you can select a full range of apertures. I have two other later models from Fuji but use this one more often as it is very compact, flexible to use and gives good image quality. A good camera to leave in the car, low value but high rewards.

I had a Fuji FinePix S series camera as my second digital camera. I used it until the in camera flash broke, but it was a fine little camera, that I captured a lot of nice memories with - and even a few artistic photos, I still have a few of hanging on a wall in my home. The only annoying thing about it was how fast it could drain the batteries. I always made sure to carry extra.
These days, I prefer raw files, and the broken flash is also limiting, so I don't use it much, but I still have it stored with some of my other compact cameras.

Thank you for watching and subscribing...It is a fact that cameras with ccd sensors use considerably more power than cmos sensors, but, the film like quality of a ccd sensor might be worth buying rechargeable aa batteries.

HI Carmine... As always I enjoy your photography lessons on what a photographer can accomplish with an older camera. I'm curious if you have gave the older smaller digicam (point and shoot cameras that was made in the early 2000s) a good street photography work out? Best, Duane

Hey, what is you're idea of the Kodak Z980. (not long before Kodak went bankrupt)
It was my first digital camera and in every camerashop I went (2) they could only deliver it of I waited month's cause they had stopped for years having Kodak's in stock. Sidewise they gave me the advise to go for the much better Canon or Nikon that they had wright now in stock! After 2 shop's I went back home cranked up and ordered one from the internet delivered at my doorstep at 2/3 of the price in the shops.
Ok the build quality is not what a Canon was but it was much cheaper and those colors at the vivid setting! Now I mostly shoot Canon dslr's with aps-c and the colors are great, but...
My old Kodak bridge z980 with a sensorsize of allmost nothing , has color like no other.
So now after seeing you're episode on the Oly e500 with Kodak sensor I got myself one for about 85€ (Belgium). Is it going to be what I expected colorwise?
