    This is a traditional cake from northern Italy.
    In this video we show you how to make a very soft, easy and quick dessert. You can prepare it with a whisk or using the planetary mixer as we did, it will be very fun and simple. What matters for the success of the recipe is that the whipped egg and sugar is well frothy. Among the quick and easy recipes, the Margherita cake is among the most loved and sought after.     Ingredients:
    - 4 eggs and 7 yolks
    - 1.2 cups (250 g) of granulated sugar
    - 1 vanilla bean
    - 0.9 cup (125 g) of flour
    - 1 cup (125 g) of potato starch
    - 5 tbsp (75 g) of butter

    That’s a great cake. Maybe next time place the vanilla beans in the sugar so they can distribute easier. But the rest was marvelous.

      Yes! I keep a quart mason jar filled with vanilla bean pods and cane sugar. It has upped my baking game almost as much as all my homemade extracts.

      @@kristinaandthegerman4554 If it happens that vanilla pods become scarce, you might want to make vanillin part of your inventory. Sold at many food stores that carry Euro, Middle Eastern, Eastern Europe and sometimes during the Holidays real Italian delis. This powdered form, small envelopes of powerful vanilla essence that give a wonderful and fresh, not to mention extremely affordable, fragrance and taste to all baked goods.

      Potato flour and cornstarch, mung bean flour, cassava flour are all the same. Just a different name.

    Is the the flour plain or self-raising?

      Hi Tracy, it's a all purposes flour. We don't use mixes in any of our recipes.

      Hi Edwin, if you want you can add it, but if the recipe is followed correctly there is no need yeast.

      The cake is leavened by the air incorporated in the eggs, and the action of what happens when heat is applied.
      Baking is a science.
      Precision in a must.
      If you add baking powder then you will be adding more lift to a cake that is designed with a tight crumb and has no chemicals like baking powder.
