T90: "Don't trickle treb!"
Jose: "Hold my beer."
I like the part where the six sergeants got the elite upgrade and gained vision radius and auto attacked the stone miners
Yeah! I noticed it too, so funny
Sicilians are the opposite of the Chinese where they have a high win-rate in the lower rankings, but are abysmally low at high rank play. For a lot of Low Elo players compared to how pros see them, Sicilians probably comes off as a really overpowered civ.
the psychic damage of seeing a donjon in feudal age is too much to handle
One of the best low elo legends videos I've seen in a while. Nobody expects the 14 treb rush.
Whole pay to win likely comes from Sicilians being DLC civilization. And likely comes from the fact that Sicilians have good win rate at lower ELO, because people have harder time to deal with with them. So that definitely is point of frustration for Jose. Also chances are, that Jose doesn't have DLC, because no one gets more annoyed by getting beaten by DLC stuff than people who can't buy it for this or that reason. Because regardless if it is overpowered or not, grass is always greener on the other side. :-D
You nailed it! 😎
Been ther too - in my case it was after indians dlc release and i got matched against gurjaras on megarandom with insane amount of herdables... I was salty af :D
That would all sound just a little better if blue had actually won.
@@scottdebrestian9875 True, but you got to look it from low ELO perspective, red said it when he thought he lost. He had no idea that he could and would win abd was just frustrated at Sargent spam. Low ELO guys are in general poor judges of their chances. Luckily he decided to not quit when he said it, I kind of expected it. Though I do think he wasn't far from it.
I bet Jose will be willing to pay the $9.99 if he finds out that 52,000 people think he is a jerk now.
new slur unlocked "Bell-ringer"
What is a better thing to do instead of ringing the bell? I have lots to learn
@@stoneyhigh05 selecting specific villagers that might be in danger to minimize the damage to your economy. when you ring the bell, ALL of your villagers are gonna stop working, and a lot of the time you don't want that.
You can use left Alt + hold LMB to only select villagers in case there's stuff in the way.
@@stoneyhigh05 drag and select only the villagers that are in harms way, press T on the keyboard or use garrison button in the unit menu. Then click on the TC. Then only the villager that you selected will go in. and the vills not in danger keep working. You can click the back to work button on the TC and they go back to where they were after danger gone
@@stoneyhigh05 You can manually (un-)garrison units and it gives you much more control over what economy you sacraficing in the moment.
I love low elo legends!!!!!!!!!
the engineer is a spy
25:58 well there you go, serjeants gain line of sight when they become elite.
Also chemistry before fletching lol
Suddenly gaining consciousness at the age of 4
T90 - seriously, I never would have started playing again except that you explained things to me that I never knew before. So keep talking about coinage, heated shot etc. It's very important to keep building the community that makes you a boss on content.
2:08 "I know its gruesome and it's sad but watch it, 10/10."
So grateful us smelly youtubers are getting so much love!
Finally understood the meaning of "why do I smell UA-cam"
Amazing! Blue builds farms at 16 mins. Red tees up the greatest raid in history then attacks the lumber camp. Wandering bands of segeants. Red pulls blues army left and then hooks right with 14 naked trebs! Literally weeping 😂
For being a one trick pony, I would pick a one trick to force me to be better.
I HATED using archers back in the day. Hated it, seemed like they were awful. Didn't understand the point or how they were supposed to work.
So I went Vikings MAA - archer with the goal of getting a new high elo. So at first I dropped 200 points, then started climbing back up as I understood it. I realized that they were all about timing and mass. Played a couple hundred games with them.
Did the same thing with learning how to use mangonels. I went celts scout rush, then into fast castle and built a siege shop and did a siege push. Elo dropped at first, then went back up past as I got used to using mangos as a lel. Could hundred games.
So afterwards I felt very confident at needing to mix in siege while going archers.
Then afterwards I realized I was a 1400, who hadn't used scouts since 1100, so sucked at it. So I started going Lith for scouts/knights, but I was happy to mix in archers or siege as needed to counter my enemy as I was used to it. Couple hundred games.
only got to 1500, but it seemed to work to pick some part of my game I was bad at, then picking a one trick that relied on that part of my game, cause I would get better.
That's a cool way of learning the game. Sounds like it's the AoE2 equivalent of doing exercises that isolate your muscles
@@stretchedmetaphor3238 more or less! I kind of got tired of doing it after awhile and now play casually, but other plans involved doing smush's on arena so I'd actually bother to hot key my monks. Also had some other ones I did, but those were the main 3 (added one). Usually with a goal of trying to get better at something. Was also really fun seeing elo go, then come back. It'd always come back if I stuck with it, but sometimes was very frustrating.
I don't think is the same as one tricking though. You are learning parts of the game universally applicable to all civs, but with a civ that makes you focus on it.
You can transfer your knowledge of playing scouts and relic control with Lithuanians or archer + siege to alll civs.
But suff like Cuman 2TC boom, Boheiman FC wagons and FC steppe lancer are not universally applicable in the slightest, which is what I would consider "one-tricking"
Those 14 trebs and the way T90 discovered them, and what they contributed in the buildings they destroyed, so so funny. Great Low ELO game!
@t90official i mean picking a civ is literally at the core of this game. For me personally i pick my civz because i literally get this deep urge to play with a specific unit. I play like 10-20 civz hut i still can't resist the urge to pick a civ that o miss or want to play.
GG to Theolino. I dont have much tolerance for bad losers or winners at my own ELO.
Entertaining game either way. Great video.
I love your low elo legends T90. Never stop
Wow! Incredible game! The best of LEL for sure! (I haven't watched yet)
I made it back guys, Twitch chat thinks I'm one of them... Now to collect intel.
Tbf when driving an automatic car, clicking the seatbelt is probably the hardest part, and I am pretty sure that a good chunk of drivers can't figure even that.
41:30 yeah, that is pretty intimidating XDD
Ohh what a game man, what a game xDD
Go Jets Go!
You need to play with the t90 sound mod
crazy game, love LEL!!!
That was such a confusing end. XD
It's crazy how TC arrow fire can barely kill infantry, but it completely asplodes trade carts.
26:00
Theo and the six Serjeants
T90, thank you for all these content, it's really entertaining even for a person who is not playing AoE like me. I'm watching all of your videos without subbing to your channel.
One trick pony on a relearning process ... I used to play as a kid, and recently started playing DE after I've begin watching your videos!
I have 200h on it, and now I'm trying to get through the anxiety to play ranked...
Anyways, I always go cav archer + siege ram (even better if mongols mangudai with fast ram)
I feel like I've done that treb wall thing myself before, with kataparuto though so it takes like no time to flatten a whole base. About the one trick pony thing, I think I do that with just massing infantry and trebs but I'm trying to learn cav builds now so one day I won't need to. Knights and such. I stuck with infantry mostly because it's easier to micro and it seems like it doesn't need as much eco to back it up as some of the more complex mixed army stuff, like I only need one set of upgrades for one thing.
Timestamp 23 15 ,never knew T90 have autohotkey installed :)
Cautious eyes,nyehehe
Great game 😂
bell is for panic moments, rather save all than make more food haha
When you kill the whole tc, only to lose the whole neighborhood to 14 unprotected trebs
8k food 0 light cav, missing upgrades, wins anyway.
game was crazy
I know you said "no judgement" about town bell ringers, but honestly felt like you were judging a smidge.
I think they should have a few different ais active on the ladder (to get current calibration of their relative skill vs the player base) then new players on their first 10 games face ais to get a good estimate on their skill based on the above as placement matches. Star craft 2 did this and found my initial games vs humans fairly balanced
WTF was that ending?! Jose stumbled SOO MANY TIMES and still won wtf??? I thought Theo had that game in the bag.
I have turned into a one trick pony with the Romans. My elo is just under 700, and I'm much smoother and more relaxed when the plan is more automatic. And I've also learned players at my Elo have a ton of trouble finding an answer for legionaires and heavy scorpions protected by halbs and mangos. It's just too much micro at this elo to not let the scorpions constantly pull troops into the death ball. I'm sure by the time I get to 800 I'm going to have to adjust, but I am enjoying playing and trying to execute "the plan" much more than I was picking a civ and winging it.
Edit: And I've never rung the bell....my introduction to the bell was T90 saying "OHH NOO THE BELL!!" 😂😂
Watching Low Elo legends spikes my blood pressure but I can't not watch.
In the witcher books there's an auction, a hundrets of years old dwarven-made bell is being sold, the runes on it in old dwarvish say: "what, you ass, is there to jingle for"
Bell ringing is about panic 100%
My one trick pony. Go Persians, fast castle, make tc, make elephant, maybe grab trashbow. That’s it you win. Edit: throw stable in if you think they’ll get to siege for Persian unique knight.
thelegend of 14 treb rush
5:55 I'm not a one trick pony, I'm THE one trick pony, I've been doing the same since HD came out, only play FFA, always play japanese, always same layout, always same strat, for years I've been doing the exact same thing and I'll keep doing it, some of us just stick to what works for us I guess... The reason behind it is I play only FFA (I took a 6 month EW break to share my games in discord but none got picked so came back to FFA), since I only play FFA, it's the thing that gets me the most fun, I know what I'm doing, I know where I'm going, I know how to counter everything (Except mongols) I know how to deal with it all... I don't like any other game mode and it's the strat that works for me, I enjoy it and I've enjoyed it for almost 10 years so yeah... I guess that's my reason to one-trick-pony forever... and ever... and ever... and ever...
i dont think players who use the town bell have some many thoughts behind it as a lot of comments assume. its simple: they see a town bell icon , understand what it does and think: they dont make this button not to use it when u under attack! same for this coin thing: its there, so it must have a purpose, lets research it!
Well, he didn't trickle those trebs.
Let this be a reminder to LELs to stay humble. You never know, you're probably still winning.
As a new player I believe the one-trick pony mindset comes from the facilities within the game itself funneling you into a playstyle, campaign, or something like Art of War teaches you one thing to win and no reason to deviate from it
If I didn't have a friend playing with me I wouldn't know anything
One of the best examples of they attack you, go attack them. Just rolled his swarm of unprotected trebs over and won the game.
btw, town bell is not as bad of a thing for low elo when you think about it. Gathering a bunch and garrisoning is super easy forget on the heels of an attack. I used to do it all the time until I got the big red flashy light idle mod. Also if you have some ranged unit dancing around your village like CA they are probably going to cause way more damage than just idling, again for low elo.
my man didnt trickle treb
I don't even play AoE2, but I'm the ultimate 1 trick in Mordhau. I'm possibly the #1 archer. I've min maxed the hell out it. I have a few archer builds (almost entirely speed focused) that make up 95% of my over 1k hours.
My character is largely based on intricate mind games (back dash spam and shooting causing the targeted player to quit the game).
I haven't even played the large battle maps or field which comprise over 90% of the game. I only play FFA, TDM, and Skirmish.
I continually change my name, but everyone instantly knows me by my build and strategy which no one else uses.
press end for minimap
I wasnt a one trick pony but i became one when i started playing mass mamaluke on arena.
Red did all the upgrades but the ones needed. I don't get how can you open the blacksmith, and decide to go for infantry upgrades when you have a lot of cavarly archers!!!
So frustrating!
I was trying to sleep but this one was too silly to not pay attention to.
22:00 OMG
Being th Portuguese one of the strongest civs in post-imp... funny red said that...
Low Elo Legends research Coinage and Banking because Taxation is theft.
Eagle warriors? Pay to win duuddde (it's the year 2000).
Heh, you can end the match in 2 minutes with your superior range teuton TCs.
pay to win... at least not tryhard 😂
My favorite part was when Red had idled Blues entire eco and just ran away with with the cav archers.
Like, what else are you going to do with those units???
petition to block techs like coinage that do nothing in a 1v1 from the tech tree if you aren't in a team game
To answer your question, absolutely no offense meant but the T90 voice mod is simply utterly atrocious lol! Who in their right mind would use that for more than a few minutes? Wayyyy over the top. Amusing concept though, the author most certainly had some fun.
And to answer another question, part of me (us?) listening to you is because you have a nice sense of humour, never too much over the top or forced, just silly or simply good jokes that make me smile or burst into laughter! Cheers!
I would never think of purchasing an AOE2 DLC as being "pay to win". If you could spend real money to start with bonus resources or tech that your opponent doesn't have .... *that* is "pay to win".
One trick pony here- 60% of the time, my strategy works every time. And something about thousands of kicks… it’s not even civ dependent. I’m going to do that one thing.
It's Jo-se since he's Portugese.
why ring the bell when you can just resign at the first sight of aggression?
You have to pay for the DLC civ is all he meant I think
I suppose that dropping outposts to see what goes on with trade opportunities could be hepful.
1:46 sad
About the elo mentioned... Is it just me, or is there great variance between 1k people who only play in the evenings and only in the mornings...? Those players can never meet the other group and it seems to me the skill level is different despite the number being the same.
13:20
Not Tower Defense, it's Dungeon Defense.
Pay to win = Sicilians being from a DLC expansion that cost extra
If red found the blacksmith he would be 200 elo higher 11
Don’t know if t90 will see this but I one trick because I feel the most satisfaction using my strategy
"pay 2 win game"
Sitting on multiple of thousand of resources, building cav archer and helbard as portuguese (without sufficent upgrades)
Ye buddy idk...guess you truly lost to no fault of your own.
23:16 oops- AutoHotkey...
I'm sure T90 uses it for something else like casting but it's a bit of a no-no in ranked AOE2
I want to watch the stream Whare do U stream at bro🙃💔
ELO IS NOT AOE2 SPECIFIC! BRUH... Been watching for years and This is news to me.
So, pay to lose? #logic
The civs still broken at lower elo it needs to be changed
DLC stuff is annoying .I kinda get where red is coming from.
the useless research items are there for the sake of score / economy / research count victory
Team ranked is dumb, climbing is litterally impossible. I make mistakes and try to learn from them, fair I know I aint 1800. But about 1/5 of my games my teammates resign 1 min into the game like wtf and it costs me elo -.-
Says the person with the BEST unit in the game aka organ guns. They need to be nerfed by making them exceedingly expensive.
please T90 vs. Bro90 with the sound mod!!
I think Coinage is fine, players should read what the techs do rather than just clicking and assuming.
Me with my hand over my face. Still watching t90 vids and not playing aoe2.
I was sure red was going to lose because why would you complain about it being P2W if you win lol
Every game with Jose I see people in chat commenting on T90's pronunciation. Is it a meme? Or is there actually an issue? J = H sound in Spanish, right? English laugh = "Hahaha", and Spanish laugh = "Jajaja", right? An especially weird one in this vid is a chatter saying "Gosee, not Hosee", which is very confusing unless it's meant like how the letter G is pronounced in Dutch for instance. But I only know that because of learning some Dutch. If you're going to correct an English speaker you should do it in a way that makes sense phonetically to an English speaker.
I know it made the video interesting but be honest the trebs didn’t do anything no way blue is killing 70 organ guns with skims and infantry. Even 40 will melt Sargent. Red won when he went organ guns. Splash damage from 70 organs kills all infantry
For Auir
My life
why do these guys have ZERO knowledge on basic build orders? xD
Try not being a bell ringer on console😂 you can’t control your units very well on Xbox and if you try it won’t select them if any army is around, will just keep selecting the military units.
Courtesy for 'play to win the game' on UA-cam with a slight twist (gotta sing it to that video though lol):
"You pay, to win, the game! You don't pay to just play it! You go to pay to win, and you start telling me... it doesn't matter... then resign. Disconnect.
We couldn't do diddly poo, offensively we couldn't forward castle, we couldn't macro farms, we didn't try to macro farms, we couldn't micro stuff, we sucked, we we we sucked.
You pay, to win, the game! That's pitiful! You don't pay to just play it! APM like that. You go to pay to win, what's that? and you start telling me, we sucked... it doesn't matter... then resign.
You kiddin' me, tournaments? What's that? Kidding me, Tournaments? Tournaments!? That's pitiful... I just hope we can win a ranked game!"
Get off T90s back, backs backs backs backs, get off Hera's back, backs backs backs backs, I'm responsible for the whole thing, I'm responsible for the wh-whole thing, k?
THEOLINO, is who we THOUGHT he was, THAT'S WHY WE QUEUED THE DAMN GAME! You wanna crown him, then crown his ass, but we nearly left him off the hook!"
I think I had a stroke reading this
Red didn't deserve a win, he played better most of the time but 14 trebs and that salty comment were so over the top, that incensed me the hell out. Why did blue give in 😭
yea first yeahhh
13:40 ish, what DOES "ELO" even stand for....
i remember in WC3 it went from "AMM" which was "automated match making" - an easy algorithm for match making on ladder
where people would gain(win)/lose(loss) exp per game depending on outcome. and you could only match against people with
account levels in specific areas such as Solo (1v1) Random Team (2v2/3v3/4v4 all RT) then AT (Arranged Team, you play with
same player for a w/l ratio and if you play with another person in a 2v2 AT it'll be a different w/l ratio)
back then, during AMM days up to patch 1.14 it was perfect imo for people who realized you HAD to win CONSISTENTLY to lvl up
and so many people on west whined on forums that they could get past level 12, then some of east chimed in but NO ONE from
ASIA EVER complained about the match making... NOT ONE. why? cuz they understood competitive RTS gaming..
i'm not 100% on whether or not europe complained cuz as servers went it was
Asia #1 by FAR then Europe then a gap that's half as big between Asia and Europe from Europe to US East then a BIG gap from
US East to US West... for some reason US West players were just... awful. I honestly do not know why... but they were absolutely
terrible and cried so much that they couldn't get beyond level 12 in solo due to "smurfs" which is a lie. that's not why they couldn't
get past level 12 or hit lvl20 (which was another big account landmark) - technically lvl20 is the first milestone, then 30, then 40,
and lastly 50 was the level cap at the time. Only Asia EVER got to 50 and it was one person.
then they released patch 1.15 and came out with this BS named "ELL" = Estimated Ladder Level which did NOT work well at all
you could start a lvl1 0-0 account and first game would and could be vs a lvl35+ or a lvl7 it didn't matter, you'd still get similar exp
and if you lost, you'd NEVER lose a level...
then people began to "ladder abuse" which they'd go 0-10 or 0-20 and then go on a 80-150 win streak, lose 20 or so in a row by
leaving instantly, and thenanother 80-150 win streak. cuz if you played straight up and didn't lose, i.e. me and my bro who held
rank 1 as dual random for 4 years in a row, we only had 81-86 wins during any of the 4 seasons... and at most 11 losses one year.
the rest it was 80s-single digit losses. and rank 1.
we'd wait for HOURS upon HOURS to get a game to either have them leave or it be the SAME people (in which case the next game
we'd get against same team would be 24hrs) so we'd either play the same 3-5 teams once a day if lucky to get ONE game a day...
or half of our losses came from zMap hackers (a program that came with maphack and micro hack that had different %'s of health
on when to micro back/change target/etc and if you couldn't win with ALL THAT advantage, you could just press a button to drop
opponents resulting in your win and their loss; not a tie. which it SHOULD HAVE ALWAYS BEEN because they didn't even acknowledge
the existence of a dischack aka disconnect hack/drop hack / etc. for over 10-15 years...
Elo actually doesn’t stand for anything, it’s the name of the man who invented it. It was originally made for chess, and it honestly does a good job for AOE. Spirit of the law did a video on this topic recently, mainly regarding new players.
Do you upload aoe4 games?
