i've never played aoe2 in my life , don't even own the game , got introduced to you guys thru viper playing aoe4 and have watched all these episodes since (and the old quiz shows as well) , I just got really excited when I saw this video pop up in a time that almost nothing excites me anymore , tnx for the show and all the effort , keep up the good work
I have this vid on the car speaker while driving today and loved the company for the road. I feel this quiz show really improved from day 1! Congrats 🎉
24:30 - Timurid Siegecraft no longer is needed to create Flaming Camels, they are unlocked by default in the siege workshop in Imp. This is already the case since the March update in 2024 so clearly outdated... 😛
Not sure when this was recorded, but there is no tech for Flaming Camel anymore. I was thinking Supremacy vils for 80hp, but I guess they aren't classed as infantry
Yup, I know there's no tech requirement anymore. But when I hear the word to draw the first time I draw the first thing that comes to my mind. And since I as well as the players spent quite some time with the tech requirement still existing, I was sure they can connect the dots even with recent changes.
@@GLAgeOfEmpires Ironically, 2 of the camel units don't have the unique unit armor class (in my mind I question whether they should even be classed as unique units). Flaming Camel still does, despite no longer needing the UT or castle to produce.
32:00 I am almost POSTIVE that was a voice line for the Byzantines back in the day. Dave might not be wrong about that! They may have swapped it over to Romans when they came out
That voice line was 100% neuer used before Romans were added. The female Byzantine villager sounds similar, but its not the same voice as the Roman one.
@GLAgeOfEmpires To be fair Italians, Byzantines and Romans all have the line "Salve" in the game. You should've given Team Red the point there. The Romans one sounds pretty much identical to the Italians and Byzantines ones.
The Romans one is very distinct and I could recognise it right away. It's like how villagers in Turkic civs have a version of 'Evet' but they still sound different from each other. Or how Indian civs have vocal lines like Haan or aam. The whole point of the quiz is to nail the answer, not argue about whether points should be given for 'close enough' answers.
@@nfnrjn This isn't a quiz about linguistics or accents. Salve as a villager voice line appears for 3 different civs (4 if you count Briton monks or Kings like others have pointed out). There is no debating that. Saying that one should know its distinctly Roman is asking too much of the contestants and for me it defeats the spirit of the show, which is not to have a cutthroat competition but more of a fun engagement with the community. Also, for your 'close enough' answers argument, Hera shouldn't have got the point for saying "Tatars UT" if he couldn't nail the exact name of the tech. It's all supposed to be fun and it was fun for 98% of the time except when I felt Dave was robbed for not knowing the dialect differences for the exact same word that appears across 3 different civs.
24:50 , I dunno if this was recorded before the update but right now Timurid Siegecraft only give +2 range to trebuchets, now flaming camels can be created from siege workshop reaching imperial age to a Tatar player.
So Margougou woke up and had to go to the bathroom but it was occupied so he came back to his room, did his business out the window and then his landlord kicked his door in? 😂
His roomate locked him in. So he missed his tournamnet match and couldnt do his business either, so he peeed through the window. I think thats what happened
I'm happy with myself for getting all 8 of the infantry attack bonus units. Edit: 9/10 on the infantry civs as well, although I did get the last one once I heard dave's incorrect answer.
I think for the voice lines you could also look up what the villagers say in their language :D Like I knew it was Romans because she said "Salve" - which is like "Hello" in english :D
Yeah I test Byz, and even though its actually hard to get the female villager to say it, sounds the identical - "Salve". So they def should've got a point for that. @29:08 I also test the Romans to make sure. Its the same.
To anyone thinking Byzantines and Romans sound the same: You really need to either get better audio equipment or have your ears checked, even more so, if you bring up Britons as well. They may all have Latin voicelines, but the voice actors are very much not the same.
Think Unique techs can stack, Round 3 question 2 could be two Berbers. The answer of two different once are better anyway, and if they stack it pretty much the same also.
The second question asks: how much does it cost to upgrade from scouts to hussar as the chinese? Yes they don't get hussar, but they do get light cavalry as opposed to scout cavalry, so the answer should be 150 food and 50 gold, or the question should be re-written.
Dave is by far one of my favorite guys in the community! He also happens to be very smart and experienced and he knows the best way to make these light-hearted videos funny is to be a little edgy here and there!
Dave is fantastic, hilarious dude, smart and one of the greatest contributors in the aoe2 world. But he's a sore loser though, and he's not one to hold back his frustrations when he's competing in anything to appear more friendly. I like his outspokenness, but only because I know what a good guy he is otherwise. If I only saw this vid, I'd probably think he was a bit of a dick too. 11
I love you, Masmorra, but if I could be constructive... watch some of Ludwig's/MrBeast videos. We're watching for entertainment. I get the guys are competitive, but bend/break the rules as necessary to make it as much fun as possible. They get to sweat it out for tournaments, this kind of content should be to have fun. Lie, cheat or steal to keep it interesting, you're not running an esport. Ask Daut, he'll explain why I'm right.
In case I'm being unclear... watch MrBeast playing poker. He does not care about winning, he cares about "funny" and "story". We're not watching these for the historical record of who managed to remember bonuses better. If Daut is asleep, ask Dave.
@@specificgod I'm still watching this show religiously. But we want to expand the AoE audience, be inclusive of the young-uns, right? The world is a big place. Of course I respect your opinion, and mine wasn't meant to be a truth, just a hopefully constructive comment to be taken or left.
"Did you shit yourself or something?" - Daut less than 2 minutes in
I just love how Dave is the chillest of dudes until he’s faced with the tiniest bit of competitive pressure
Margougou's downstairs neighbor: "Is it raining or something?"
Non, il pipit
I was at first most surprised by this story, then by his lack of basic AOE2 mechanics 😂
"I already knew that so it doesnt count as a tipp so i can have another tipp" Margougou bargaining like his life depended on it.

great episode Masmorra and the GL crew ! Thank you !!
Nelson way too nice and supportive!😆

Great episode! Always love it when dave is there. Also margougou finally making his debut as guest on the GL channel is amazing :D
I love this format tbh

The jingles in this one drove me crazy I knew almost all of them!!!!
Hilarious. Loved the content.
These quizzes are so good 😂
I was gonna say cannon galleon for the bonus damage on militia-line, but maybe a bonus on infantry is too general? Despite that, this was great fun!
2 min in and "lol" was never so accurate...I am laughing so hard and loud

you should get t90 and jean bureau in the same team
Love me some nelson hosting. Percect personality for this

His roomate locked him in. So he missed his tournamnet match and couldnt do his business either, so he peeed through the window. I think thats what happened
When I first read the title I thought it was a lopsiided show match and was wondering what handicap was needed to make it fair.
Incredible opening :'D
Chinese Hussar question 200IQ
according to an old reddit post salve was byzantines originally
Best game show in town!!
well looks like margougou escaped his room so he can participate in this quizshow 11
The Romans/Byzantines question was a bit unfair. Their villagers both say the same word, just with very slightly different accents.
39:35 I didnt did the math, but as Dave pointed out ¿shouldnt the Armenians, with a Burgundian and Aztec allies, be the one generating more resources?
So much fun as always 😂❤

this is good content.. and last question of a round 1 was a mind fuck excuse my french
well done my friends should be an offical GL merch
Why is Villesse the one, who saying the score?
?
I believe he is the one handling the interface, while Masmorra handles the questions
Woo more of these ❤
Arent camel archers also a unique camel unit
that's why Berbers were named
That start was gold 11
Any civ can have an infantry unit with over 80hp!! (with an Italian teammate)
11 the opponents just made me laugh.. even before watching the video. 11
Dave!
so entertainy! all you need is humble dave laughing
I love these
Do one with viper and Daut vs T90 and Dave
Dave what a guy
love these

“Name a unit” 😂
32:00 Romans, Byz and Italians share similar sounding voicelines/language but different voice actors.

I also test the Romans to make sure. Its the same.
Britons is also the same
Not a daut castle, but even better :)
Hilarious!
"Salve" is 100% britons as well
Only monks and kings though, which are both male voices.
To anyone thinking Byzantines and Romans sound the same: You really need to either get better audio equipment or have your ears checked, even more so, if you bring up Britons as well. They may all have Latin voicelines, but the voice actors are very much not the same.
Any reason for editing and cutting the video so many times during the last question?
We just like to edit videos. Seriously, little mix up with the civ at the end and we had a short "off cam" talk about it.
Breakfast 11
❤
32:00 isn't that the same voicelines for Britons too? I believe those two civs, along with the Italians, speak some form of Latin
Shouldn’t round 2 give 2 points?
