Never listened to a Korn album before (yea, shame on me) so I can't compare it to another of their albums. But anyhow I bought Requiem. And I really enjoyed it this far. I love the heavy guitar riffs and the variation of Jonathan Davis' vocals. I think it's also quite catchy ("Forgotten", Lost in the grandeur") and there's no bad song on it. I also enjoy that is a pretty easy listen because of its shortness. Favourite tracks: "Forgotten"; "Penance to sorrow" and "Let the dark do the rest". I'm pretty exciting to get into more Korn soon!
Im not a Nu Metal fan at all but im currently ranking all the Nu Metal Big Four Debuts and honestly I have to say I’m loving Korns debut. Totally blows away all the other debuts in the list 😂 makes me definitely wanna listen to more of these guys!
KoRn is my all time favourite band and my introduction to metal. They will always have a special place on my heart Self Titled, Issues and The Nothing are my favourite albums Also really enjoy Life is Peachy, Follow the Leader, Untouchables, See you on the other side and The serenity of suffering

This is a solid review. Been a fan since I heard shoots and latters on the radio as a kid. Definitely agree that Korn came back when they released serenity of suffering. 6: serenity of suffering 5: self-titled 4: follow the leader 3: issues 2: take a look in the mirror 1: life is peachy
I was 17 when I found Y’all Want A Single & I fell in love with how hardcore Take A Look In The Mirror is. It’s my favourite album by them. My favourite track in general is Dead Bodies Everywhere.
Man the first 7 albums and The Nothing are all masterpieces. Requiem I like it hasn't grown on me yet but at the same time it's hard to top what they've already done
Fascinating re-ranking of Korn's discography. also a life-long Korn fan since the early 90s and one thing I noticed (for me personally) I don't come back to Life is Peachy as often, and when I do I realize why: the lyrics, overall songs, and just the album as a whole didn't age well. If you were to ask me my top 5 fave Korn albums LIP would definitely be in there but these days not any more. Agree with you on Follow the Leader (moved down for me over the years) it's very front-loaded, like SOS, like you said they blend together which is unfortunate! Requiem brought be back to early 2000s like you mentioned had a more alternative rock sound, but it lost that modern metal sound that was present on their last two records, overall it was a solid album with no bad song but none that stood out either. 1994 self titled and Issues are interchangeable for me too, they're just that good here is mine as of 2022: 15. Just discovered your channel man, good stuff. My list is similar to yours, I'd probably swap a couple albums but overall close to mine. I'm 28, been a Korn fan since 2005 when I first heard twisted transistor on the radio as my mom drove me to school lol had her drive me to the store that weekend to buy See You On The Other Side, been a fan ever since

#1 Issues. Super creepy and dark with a more polished sound, like you said. #2 All tied: See you on the Other Side (Everyone else hates it but I absolutely love it.) I'm 35 been a fan for 23years and a get you about untouchables, but i went to alot of shit in life and now it's become probably my favorite Korn album.

I saw Korn in 2014 in Auburn, Washington as part of the Mayhem Festival! They were the last band on the main stage before Avenged Sevenfold, who headlined. Also on the bill was Asking Alexandria, Trivium, Mushroomhead and Suicide Silence.
Great ranking, a lot of my placements would be the same. I'll always defend Take a Look in the Mirror and Remember Who You Are and yeah Serenity of Suffering made me follow Korn again.
14. Korn III: Remember who you are 13. The path of totality 12. Take a look in the mirror 11. The serenity of suffering 10. The paradigm shift 9. Untitled 8. See you on the other side 7. Life is peachy 6. Follow the leader 5. Korn 4. Requiem 3. The Nothing 2. Issues 1. Untouchables

Mine would be 14. KoRn III 13. Path of totality 12. Untitled 11. Take a look in the mirror 10. Remember who you are 9. The nothing 8. The serinity of suffering 7. Paradighm shift 6. Requiem 5. Follow the leader 4. The untouchables 3. Issues 2. KoRn 1. Life is peachy
This’ll be my list 14. Korn III 13. Path of totality 12. Untitled 11. See you on the other side 10. Untouchables 9. Paradigm shift 8. Take a look in the mirror 7. Life is peachy 6. Korn 5. Serenity of suffering 4. Requiem 3. The nothing 2. Follow the leader 1. Issues
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 indeed! I’m a sucker for that creepy, ominous, sad and power riffs like issues had. Ever since I’ve listened to that record, I’ve hoped they did the same thing but combine with a more modern sound like serenity of suffering. Half my wish was granted with the nothing, very relatable and power lyrics. But the riffs weren’t as memorable as issues was. Requiem, although it wasn’t too strong lyrically, the creepy vibes and the heavy riffs with the scariness and despair of the tracks really gave me those issues vibes and it’s something I was hoping for🤝
Yes, great placement for Requiem! And great summary of Untouchables. Seed and my gift for you are good later tracks on follow the leader, imo. They could've omitted Cameltoesis and all in the family. Those two are out of place and kind of ruin the flow. I have the same top 6 placement🤘
I totally lost my interest when Untouchables came out. I remember waiting so long for that album to come out and when I got the leaks I was like what the hell is this. I only have to say this: I got curious how they would sound when Head came back. He was and still is my favorite band member. Serenity of suffering! I have to agree on top 5 with you except I’d still put Korn debut as top one and only because of the impact and how it still can be played today, at least for me.
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 yeah 1a and b for me too! I’ve played Issues the most out of any of their records I’d say! I lived in Holland in 99 and crazy story, I’m on the plane to move to USA and buddy of mine and I are dual listening to issues on the long plane ride here.
Same here. The Sereinty if Suffering is a good album, and honestly that brought me back to being interested in Korn. The Nothing is a great Korn album, check it out.
High fucking five on acknowledging how slept on take look in the mirror is. Legit bangers throughout. And Jon davis says he hates it . But he also loves untouchables so what does he know
Great video! My ranking would probably be exactly the same. Interestingly, I find a lot of Korn fans like Korn III, but I've always found it to be one of their weakest records.
I want to ask you something. Tell me if you think this somewhat true. Another UA-cam reviewer said that the first three albums including Follow The Leader were like good fresh corn with a little butter and salt. Issues and Untouchables were like you are eating corn right on the expiration date. From Take A Look In The Mirror on its sort of like terrible tasting rotting corn that you would get at an old age home. How much do you agree with this and do you think it’s that simple? Please answer when you get a chance. Thanks.
issues is, in my opinion, the most rushed, probably least inspired album of the first five. Peachy probably just as rushed but with way more inspiration and fire. Korn has one front to back great record and that's the first one. follow the leader is next best. then untouchables. Peachy. followed by issues. conceptually Issues is interesting and still a dark record, but I feel it could have been better had they spend "untouchables" time and budget. could have been a masterpiece. the rest go in the same bag and the rankings after that are more or less pointless until you get to the second Head era. All in all I feel like when the music suffers on a Korn track it really brings Jons words forward which aren't always super stellar.
Ok, here's my thoughts before watching.... from least to best Korn Life is Peachy Korn 3 - What can I say, I dont like the first couple of Korn albums or their retreads. Look in the Mirror - After Untouchables I was hoping for more bangers. This lands flat. Paradigm shift/Serenity of Suffering - Too similar to call The Nothing - Its not a lot better that the last 2, but I love Can you Hear Me. Instant classic. The Path of Totality - Its almost not a Korn album... but its fun. My Wall is a top 10. Follow the Leader - So many classics. My Gift to You is just so.... damn.... sludgy. See you on the Other Side - Too poppy. Not standout tracks, but a great package. Untitled - Innocent Bystander is a great track Issues - The album that started it off when I heard Make me Bad on the radio. Untouchables - Here to Stay is #1. No Ones There sounds like it belongs on Queen of the Damned, and THAT is some amazing stuff.
To each their own but when follow the leader came out I didn't know anyone who didn't like all in the family. Its a joke song and an introduction to Fred Durst for most people at the time but anybody who at least appreciates Korn is good in my book.
Agreed, but I stopped listening to these guys probably 20 years ago or so. I did randomly buy See you on the other side back in 05 and didn't care for most of it so never went back to them. Issues is a great album and the other 90s albums are pretty good with the exception of Life is Peachy. I think that album was a product of its time and its just kinda bad nowadays.
Here would be my ranking for Korn's albums. 14. The Path of Totality 13. Korn III: Remember Who You Are 12. Untitled 11. See You on the Other Side 10. The Paradigm Shift 9. Untouchables 8. Requiem 7. The Nothing 6. The Serenity of Suffering 5. Take a Look in the Mirror 4. Life Is Peachy 3. Issues 2. Self-titled 1. Follow the Leader
Remember Who You Are reminds me of Take A Look In The Mirror but without Brian on guitar obviously. Remember Who You Are didn't age well. It's just not really that good overall. Tracks like Oildale, Pop A Pill, Holding All These Lies, and The Past are good songs though.
The main reason KoRn is not my favorite nu metal band even tho they are the pioneer of the genre is that they have been so inconsistent throughout the years. One second you're listening to Korn or Issues and you're banging, the other you're going to sleep wondering when it's gonna end listening to Korn 3 or The Paradigm Shift and then there's the mediocreness of TPOT (I listen to EDM, don't kill me) and TALITM. Compare this to bands like Linkin Park or Deftones, who despite changing their style (LP drastically so), have ZERO or maximum one bad or mediocre albums, I mean you can listen to almost all of them from beginning to end without getting bored at all. Much more polish, much less bloatedness, which makes me for one much more invested in the bands.
Never been a huge fan of korn, outside of the singles they never really stood out to me. The exception is the debut, although I used to think the same thing about it, upon re-listen it’s pretty great
1. Issues 2. Korn 3. Follow the Leader 4. The Paradigm Shift 5. Life is Peachy 6. The Nothing 7. The Serenity of Suffering 8. See You on the Other Side 9. Untouchables 10. Requiem 11. Take a Look in the Mirror 12. Korn III: Remember Who You Are 13. Korn II 14. The Path of Totality

@@pairofjeansreviews2034 These types of videos definitely do well for you either way. I’m going to have to do a post-hardcore tier list soon. Hopefully this week if all of this new music can stop dropping. Still have to react to new RHCP lol.

2. The Serenity Of Suffering
1. Life Is Peachy
I'm happy serenity is so high!
I saw Korn in 2014 in Auburn, Washington as part of the Mayhem Festival! They were the last band on the main stage before Avenged Sevenfold, who headlined. Also on the bill was Asking Alexandria, Trivium, Mushroomhead and Suicide Silence.
I saw them on that tour as well!
Great ranking, a lot of my placements would be the same. I'll always defend Take a Look in the Mirror and Remember Who You Are and yeah Serenity of Suffering made me follow Korn again.
Untouchables is so overpraised but it’s way better than See You On The Other Side imo
They’re both pretty equal for me in terms of quality

Wow lots of love for the new stuff!
Requiem, although it wasn’t too strong lyrically, the creepy vibes and the heavy riffs with the scariness and despair of the tracks really gave me those issues vibes and it’s something I was hoping for🤝
Untoucable and debut are my favorites for sure
Yes, great placement for Requiem! And great summary of Untouchables.
Seed and my gift for you are good later tracks on follow the leader, imo. They could've omitted Cameltoesis and all in the family. Those two are out of place and kind of ruin the flow. I have the same top 6 placement🤘
Nice! Yeah follow the leader just runs out of steam I’d say but is still good just not as good
In my opinion, The Paradigm Shift and The Nothing are my favourites, but that's probably because I'm new to KoRn. I'd say Issues is third though.
Issues is the best!! 👍
The debut and Issues are baaasically equal for me so I get it lol
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 yeah 1a and b for me too! I’ve played Issues the most out of any of their records I’d say! I lived in Holland in 99 and crazy story, I’m on the plane to move to USA and buddy of mine and I are dual listening to issues on the long plane ride here.
Same here. The Sereinty if Suffering is a good album, and honestly that brought me back to being interested in Korn. The Nothing is a great Korn album, check it out.
@@Kingofthenorf420 it didn’t really resonate with me like serenity did. I tried to listen to it.
5:30 my first impression of Requiem was "Wait thats it." That album was so short and a huge let down for me, considering that i loved The Nothing.
i really liked requiem.
It’s not bad just doesn’t really leave any kind of impression on me
High fucking five on acknowledging how slept on take look in the mirror is. Legit bangers throughout. And Jon davis says he hates it . But he also loves untouchables so what does he know
Korn debut Follow The Leader Issues and Path Of Totality are my fav albums
I prefer the 1993 demo version of Daddy, rather than the recording that was released on Self titled (1994)
Great video! My ranking would probably be exactly the same. Interestingly, I find a lot of Korn fans like Korn III, but I've always found it to be one of their weakest records.
Yup! It's just a lame attempt at a return to form
Thanks.
lmao i honestly love this comment... i guess i kinda agree overall
self titled is my number 1. just raw af
issues is, in my opinion, the most rushed, probably least inspired album of the first five.
Wow! Never heard that take on Issues, very interesting
Ok, here's my thoughts before watching.... from least to best
Korn
Life is Peachy
Korn 3 - What can I say, I dont like the first couple of Korn albums or their retreads.
Look in the Mirror - After Untouchables I was hoping for more bangers. This lands flat.
Paradigm shift/Serenity of Suffering - Too similar to call
The Nothing - Its not a lot better that the last 2, but I love Can you Hear Me.
Untitled - Innocent Bystander is a great track
Issues - The album that started it off when I heard Make me Bad on the radio.
Untouchables - Here to Stay is #1. No Ones There sounds like it belongs on Queen of the Damned, and THAT is some amazing stuff.
INTERESTING LIST
To each their own but when follow the leader came out I didn't know anyone who didn't like all in the family. Its a joke song and an introduction to Fred Durst for most people at the time but anybody who at least appreciates Korn is good in my book.
You deserve more subs
Hey thanks ❤️
Agreed, but I stopped listening to these guys probably 20 years ago or so. I did randomly buy See you on the other side back in 05 and didn't care for most of it so never went back to them. Issues is a great album and the other 90s albums are pretty good with the exception of Life is Peachy. I think that album was a product of its time and its just kinda bad nowadays.
Really ironic that you said issues would be great on vinyl cause I just bought issues on vinyl
Here would be my ranking for Korn's albums.
14. The Path of Totality
13. Korn III: Remember Who You Are
12. Untitled
11. See You on the Other Side
10. The Paradigm Shift
9. Untouchables
8. Requiem
7. The Nothing
6. The Serenity of Suffering
5. Take a Look in the Mirror
4. Life Is Peachy
3. Issues
2. Self-titled
1. Follow the Leader
Pretty solid ranking!
top 3 albums are: 3. untouchables 2. issues 1. self title
Enjoyed watching your ranking
Thanks dude!
Never been a huge fan of korn, outside of the singles they never really stood out to me. The exception is the debut, although I used to think the same thing about it, upon re-listen it’s pretty great
The singles are usually the best songs on their albums
What happend to your Marilyn Manson ranking
All in the family is great
I can't stand Korn, or the Nu Metal subgenre in general, but I really like album reviews
I am a KORN addict, Issues is a great album, but not #1. A album that is overlook, Take A Look In The Mirror, my favorite album!!
Agreed
Untouchables is their masterpiece album. You like mostly singles on each albums, that’s sad.
Hollow life is amazing aong
no way man, untouchables is their best by far
issues has some really great songs, but is filled with those 1minute bs tracks
I’d rather the 1 minute interludes over the 4 minute bad songs on untouchables lol
Untouchables is an odd album. Better than a lot of what Korn released after it, but noticeably worse than what came before it.
Alone I Break really Bro? Untouchables is great.
eeeehhhh
1. Issues
2. Korn
3. Follow the Leader
4. The Paradigm Shift
5. Life is Peachy
6. The Nothing
7. The Serenity of Suffering
8. See You on the Other Side
9. Untouchables
10. Requiem
11. Take a Look in the Mirror
12. Korn III: Remember Who You Are
13. Korn II
14. The Path of Totality
Solid list! Pretty similar to mine
The unplugged from MTV was no good. Korn is not a band for an acoustic concert.
Oof soooo bad lol
F slur song is not meant to be homophobic it recounts johnathan Davis being bullied in school people thinking he was gay look it up there is more to it
Life is peachy,Issues and self titled
All bangers
Wow new one included?
Yessiiiir
Album is so boring. I’m surprised though, wouldn’t ranking videos like this take much longer than a full album review?
Well rather than doing both a review and a ranking this is the one that would do better so I chose to just do this
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 These types of videos definitely do well for you either way. I’m going to have to do a post-hardcore tier list soon. Hopefully this week if all of this new music can stop dropping. Still have to react to new RHCP lol.
Bro How do you have time to listen full discographies 😱😱
Well a band like Korn I’ve been a fan of since I was like 6 so I know all these albums quite well lol
I used to like Korn, but I grew out of them when I heard Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Saxon, and other heavier bands.
I’d argue Korn is objectively heavier than all of those bands lol but also very different
I feel like korn is heavier than those hands, but it's completely different styles of metal
Korn were great, but they lost their creative edge long ago. After their first 5 albums or so, they just went to shit in my opinion.
Eh their last few albums were quite good, just had like a decade of not knowing what to do lol
Nu Metal rubbish!!!
Hollow Life is their best song ( in my and a few of my friends opinion 😂) tastes differ so much.
My top fav songs by Korn
Follow life

Somebody someone
Freak on a leash

Somebody Someone is so good!
