See an old class drum mower in the yard cut the rushes and bale them off . Keep the new mowers safe
Phil, my father who is 92 said after watching your video on bedding the calves with mulch base they used rushes years ago cause they were great drainage and soakage as a base then put straw on top for Cowes in the bair . Why don't you bale the rushes and give it a go with the calves next year.
Cut Rushes with an old mower in good hot weather and let them sit for a few days let them get golden in colour rake them let sit for another day then bale it
And use it for bedding cattle
And put straw on top of it great. Great, soakage works well ift straw is expensive and scares
Is this correct? Cut rushes first then spray when the green shoots come back
I was told to spray when the seed appears on them old hand said it good for catching the spray
Mulch those rushes and blacken it with slurry with the splash plate. Do the job nicely
A man near me mulched rushes and had no grass that year because the depth of mulched rushes baling would be better
tie a cement block to the end of your air compressor hose and throw it in, turn it on full blast and stand back, that'll stir up some shit for sure
If your getting new slats for the shed the best thing to do probably be to get one slat with a built in manhole and just agitate it in the inside unless it was possible to modify the outside manhole
Can’t bate the pig slurry to mix the thick cattle slurry 👍👍👍
Hello . You'r ashtree's are really beautiful . They don't grow in westcoast of Finland . 🌲🌳
Id it economical to use cow dung manure compared to buying fertilizer?
You should try mow them rushes and bale them, if you could bale them somewhat dry they would do as Beeding for stock to save on straw
Is there any update on the 1200
Use one of those weed rollers/curtains for the Sedge/Rush plants?
Mulch as tight as you can the grass will grow and the rushes will turn into nitrogen, stock it well with cattle they will keep it right, spray with mcpa if possible
Get the old tarup mower in the rushes then you can throw two rows into 1 with it
Great video Phil. Busy busy. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼👍🏼
Getting your new land fixed up for you guys to use is going on well.
I think the best thing to do is mulch it and maybe try stitch in some grass with the spring harrow
You would want balls of steel to stick a mower in them Rushes without knowing if there are stones in there Phil 🙈🙈😁
You might give the back window a splash of water.
Blimey I hope your not paying much rent that ground is shagged out
What about strip grazing, I know the fence needs moving but they will eat it down to the bottom
First 😂😂
Rip up the slats to make enough space to put the agitator down and mix it
have you look into a paddle mixer for the slotted tank
You could mow and bale the rushes. I read somewhere that you could use them for bedding and help you're carbon footprint
That field looks well neglected. How do you get rid of so many well established rushes. Do you re-seed
Weed herbicide roller/curtain.
That's was great work with your land farmer Phil keep up the good work with it
Those nighttime drone shots are amazing
Phil, cut & bale the rushes , I’d same issue, cleaned field lovely, used the bales to calf the cows & heifers while baled straw was €40 bale that spring, reuse & recycle.
👍
I'm from roscommon and for boundary with the neighbours we pronounce it MAYOR-NING
Good stuff
The pig slurry will put manners on the rushes and will make mixing the thick slurry easier
For safety sake -- clean the windows of your tractor
Keep er lit PHil
Can you kill the rushes permanently?
Your some worker in fairness to u and ur father
Great video farmer Phil
Steel Road ramps & signs ??
Lots of work ahead 😅
Do you not think you are a little close to the river in that rushes area?
I was at closest 40m from the river which is plenty
🇮🇪🇮🇪🙏🙏👍👍👏👏

As valuable as land is there and rush's only grow in really wet areas can you backfill the rush areas with your concrete yard waste to firm it up a then cover it with dirt
