I raised 4 children and was very frugal. The kids are grown and I am still frugal....I love finding a good deal when grocery shopping even now with just my husband and I. I read all ingredient labels too. It made me laugh when you showed the 35 lbs. of peanut butter. Thank you for sharing this!!!

I still have my sturdy Panpered Chef Pizza Cutter for ten years....pizza, pita, biscuit, cookie bar cutter. My grandmother's kitchen was filled with restaurant supply mugs, dishes, utensils and huge pots for her huge family and Sunday suppers for 20-30 people. Torani syrups are great for ice cream, yogurts, cake and cookie baking as well as for drinks.

Those #10 cans have a Lot of food in them for use at one time. A number of the foods can be portioned out and frozen. It is also a good thing to plan for big batch cooking, making freezer meals, and the like when opening a can. The savings can be significant.

I have a pizza cutter without the handle because we do thin crust gluten free pizzas. I don’t have a drip coffee maker anymore, I switched to a French press. I love the US Foods Chef Store. They are supposed to open one close by (within an hours drive). I’m very excited to have one of these closer to home. The one I go to now is about 1.5 hour away. Great video.

I don’t know why I don’t see more people shopping at restaurant supply stores, especially the large family vloggers. After 30+ years in the restaurant business, I guess it seems more normal to me. It’s definitely worth it to investigate what your area has to offer in the way of these types of purveyors. My area also has a produce purveyor that not only sells cases of produce to restaurants, but also breaks up the cases and sells to the public for incredibly cheap and the variety is fantastic. I agree that this is a great way to equip your kitchen if you want to skip the thrift stores.

As a former EMT, We had a patient who died from eating fries cooked in peanut oil. The coconut oil turns to a solid below 75 °F. Institutional blend four is different flours to be able to make many different products. As far as having so much hot sauce, A wing sauce is usually made with liquid butter and hot sauce. As far as the the strainer goes, the reinforcement is good when one filters oil as the sediment and heat will cause it to split. I am a chef and would love to come look at that store compared to Sam's wholesale or other big box stores..

Did you spot the Cyber Truck? In a store like this, the people picking up stuff for a restaurant would come in the morning and be doing so quickly as they have other stuff to do. I think there are other versions of these around; I know my sister-in-law got a bunch of food for a re-wedding they had, and they do a lot of the cooking for their large family events.

The solid at the bottom is probably the coconut oil since it is solid at room temperature. that's my guess. I worked at a movie theater a million years ago and we had a huge bucket of the oil for the machine and it had a heater to melt the solids so it could pump the oil in the popper hopper. The machines that they use to squirt "butter flavor" on is also heated to keep it melted so it can squirt appropriately.

Love watching these videos! Not a shopping related question but is there anything special you do to clean your utensils/cookware after cooking chicken? I have a fear of touching raw chicken and cross contamination. So I totally use cooking gloves and disinfect during/after cooking and wash things with scalding hot water. Are there any other tips you would recommend or do you just use the regular ol' sponge and dish soap?

I like shopping at these stores to get certain items. Once I called them and told them I needed raw turkey wrapped in foil. They said they had a few left and asked to save me at least two of them. They were great helping me out.

If anyone is interested, I cooked 9 meals, 120 people, so 1080 servings of food over four days in Myrtle Beach using Chefs Store.
    Total cost = $5,050.
Make sure you place the order 2-3 weeks ahead of time if you are picking it up in store since they can’t guarantee that your pickup will contain everything g you order unless you give them time to get it on a truck ahead of time.
Just FYI - this was around 3 pallets of food and we requested them to pick and pallet for us. They even wrapped the pallets for us to keep things stable for a 30 minute drive.

Costco has generally better quality items and "healthier" items. You do have to check unit prices between Costco, regular grocery shelf prices, and grocery store sales prices against the Cjef's Store prices. If ingredient lists are inportamt, it is important to check them at Chefs Store 'cause not all restaursnt food is particularly preservative free.

For sauces, canned goods, cheese, and hard to find stuff (like the clarified butter) these would be worthy to make a five hour round trip to Oklahoma City to visit the store every six to 10 months. However for meats in my area I can get meats like chicken WAY way cheaper at places like "OK Food's outlet store" with fresh chicken coming straight from the plant in less than 48 hours of order in 40lb. bulks (legs or thighs being between $18 to $22 for 40lb.). Not to mention since they make the chicken products for Burger King, Wendy's, Rally's, etc. I can buy them in bulk too. As for Beef & Pork 10Box is cheaper too at times, and some other meat brokers in my area also have similar deals.

There are online sales flyers. I got the double mesh strainer well under $10 on sale. Green onions in 2# bag. I chop and freeze, price varies a lot, from $3+ to $13+. My local store no longer has pot sticker or egg roll wraps but does still have frozen potstickers. Not Clorox but gallon bleach is like $4. I think the beef Cloverdale dogs used to be used at mariner games.

My nearest Costco and Walmart are a 4 hour round trip in a neighboring state, but I did see a Chef Store across the street from Walmart, and wondered. Where I used to live, a restaurant supply store near me required a business license number to get a membership card, it seems the Chef Store does not.
