I bet South Korea can pummel the fuck out of North Korea to the point where it will take North Korea several years to rebuild their infrastructure!
@@williammitchell1864 NORTH KOREA HAS AN ATOMIC WEAPON FOR THIS CASE !

I spent a tour in South Korea. North Korea is not afraid of us, they are afraid of the South Korean military. They are not affectionately called Rock soldiers by the American military because of the ROK. The South would conquer the North if the communists started a fight. I am proud of my service and of the ROK soldiers I served with.
I love South Korea food and the people ❤️ 🇪🇺🇺🇳🇬🇷
we all should appreciate the men who climbed up the small islands to place the marker flags. good job, very smooth surface on the flag.
I'd lay them down with a sky crane!

Spare a thought for the dudes who had to erect the red cross target after each explosion!
Because they have bad histories involving small islands.
Not to mention they're currently having a dispute with Japan over a small island called "Dokdo island" on the east.

I trained with the Republic of Korean Marines in 1982. I served in other Asian countries also, but South Korean people with their very humble approach to life, and their country, made me realize, that would be the only Asian country I would ever live in. And by the way Korean Marines didn't like U.S. Marines very much. I think they thought we were a little over rated.. But, they are some pretty tough dudes. Never smiled...

I've been a believer in the ROK military ever since reading "Chickenhawk", a book written by a US helicopter pilot in Vietnam. In the book he describes how when their base came under mortar attack, the Americans (including himself) scrambled for non-existent cover, while the Koreans ran into the jungle. A few minutes later, the mortars stopped and the Koreans emerged from the jungle with captured mortar tubes and the severed heads of the Vietcong. I read that when I was just a kid and never forgot it.
Koreans in Vietnam era were super effective and ferocious.
@ycpl75 Yep. They were boys when they were forced to watch communists rape and murder their mothers and sisters. They were men out for revenge against the communists in Vietnam.
@ycpl75 Did most of the veterans emigrate abroad? I'm Korean, but this is the first time I've heard anything like this. Let's not make up sounds that don't exist. There are many veterans living around me.
@ycpl75 320,000 Korean troops dispatched to Vietnam War.
250,000 survivors living in Korea,
70,000 deaths during the Vietnam War, defoliant disease and old age
This is the official data of 60 overseas immigrants.
@@oscargrouch7962 The ROK troops were the enemy that the Vietcong and NVA feared the most and would finish the job when their US counterparts wouldn't. South Korea sent 300,000 troops to aid South Vietnam and all of them were hand-picked volunteers as opposed to draftees from the US, which really shows their willingness to fight the Communists. Unfortunately South Korean troops were withdrawn when the US Congress decided to abandon South Vietnam and leave Saigon to fall.
The current government of Vietnam engaged in historical revisionism by downplaying the role of Korean troops, accusing them of just coming over to kill Vietnamese civilians instead of giving the Viet Cong a hard fight.
I had the privilege to live in South Korea for two years. I miss this amazing country and the people!

Wowww, awesome video! I love the F-4 Phantom, still looking lethal after many decades!
I used to load these & then go flying with them as a Naval Aircrewman in the U.S. Navy on Lockheed P-3C Orion's. It's amazing to learn what different types of weapons are able to do. One of the many mines we'd use is a Mk-60 CAPTOR. It's a 2000 lb class weapon that goes on one of the inner wing stations of a Lockheed P-3C but can be delivered by all kinds of aircraft, surface ships & submarines. Flying low over the water, mine gets released, parachute opens on the back of the mine (mine is oblong item with blunt tip & parapack on the end) to keep it at a 45 deg angle entering the ocean. Then it sinks to a predetermined depth and then anchors itself to the floor. So you have the mine under the water vertically with a cable that anchors it to the sea floor. Then it puts out a magnetic field - and when an enemy submarine passes somewhere nearby, the mine opens up and then a Mk-46 torpedo (500 lb class weapon) comes out of the mine and if all works - kills or ruptures the hull on that submarine. And to think that it came into service in 1979 blew me away when I was in the Navy (from 1990-1995). For more information - check this link; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_60_CAPTOR

The F4 can fly with as many bombs as a bomber aircraft. So, the Korean Air Force is still using the F4 for ground bombing. In order to maintain the F4, many parts are manufactured directly in Korea.
