It boggles my mind when someone from an urban environment moves to a rural / agricultural area and falls in love with farms and farming because so many people don't appreciate the lifestyle. I think it's fantastic that you do. 🤠

My daddy was from the East Coast major city and my mama was from the mid Midwest about as different as could be.
They eventually moved back to the mid Midwest. He did not go in the farming like his brother in laws but Did own Couple of hundred acres. This was in the 50s.

@@JojoSnow01I grew up in Euless (you will know exactly where that is). My wife also grew up in Euless. Week 2 of COVID we decided to buy a small farm. Our kids built houses on this property. My in-laws built a house, here. Now, we are looking at more land (200+ acres). Not flat land. More like Texarkana region. I am more interested in farming lumber than food. Going from being a computer systems engineer to a farmer, I know what you are talking about.

This is a good story to hear, as I’m friends with 3 women right now who have recently lost their husbands. One guy passed away just one week after a picnic weekend at their house. He went to bed and didn’t wake up.
And you two finish one another’s sentences as if only one of you were speaking. I so appreciate both male and female friends who I’m able to communicate with in a give and take. Too often insecure personalities are offended or threatened by another dominant personality. That doesn’t have to be, and you two are proof.
Jo-Jo, sorry for your loss, but Zach, you have a precious heart to hold and care for now. Be that honorable man and step up to the plate.
Thanks for sharing your story and being open and honest. You’ll go far if you remain on the path you’re on.

Great story 💃❤️ I am a country girl and love living the peaceful life. I’m now 66 years old and lost my husband 8 years ago to cancer. I still live on the farm alone but have 3 adult children and 8 grandchildren that help me out all the time. They love staying here with me and we always have a lot of fun. I only have chickens now but still cut the hay and sell it to help out keep the farm up. I’m never going to move out of here and I know that my kids and grandkids will take this over. I love it here and always will.💃❤️💞😊

I’m from small town Texas. I had two young boys. Met my wife. She loved doing the outdoors things that I loved doing. I raised cattle and when it came to pinning cattle she would saddle up with me and pin and work cattle too. That’s been 30 something years ago. We had a son of our own. All the boys are grown. Now we have grandkids. Country living has been good to us. There’s no way we could live the city life. Thanks for sharing your story.

You're not alone. I keep a running tally of the days since our 21-year-old daughter died, 7-years ago, and the grief never goes away, you just absorb it into your life. I allow myself to drop into what I call "the manhole" for a couple of hours on "prime number days". They are randomly spread out in the tally of days, and between those days I can manage stay in the light. Even after 7-years the darkness pulls every minute. As I'm sure you know. You have such clarity in your eyes. That's something that your Soul has given you, to help to fill the hole in your heart. That is strange, isn't it. Thank you for making these videos. I know that there are especially widows out there whom you are helping. -C

Grew up in western Kansas; I know some people say it's only electrical poles and corn fields, but there's nothing like a western Kansas sunset; the sound, smell, and excitement of harvest; the irrigation motors humming as you slide into sleep; the straight green rows of corn that are blessedly cool to drive by on a hot summer day; and the amazing people that live with strength, tenacity, and kindness in the middle of all that.
I moved to an area of the Ozarks from the plains; it was an absolutely beautiful area, but way too many hills and trees. I can tell anyone that wonders exactly where on what roads a person can find the "long views", the views where you can see across several miles of country so that, for a few short seconds, you lose the claustrophobic feeling and can breathe deep and easy.
I lived there long enough to learn to love the area, but always felt most at home where I could see across the miles. Ended up moving to a valley that I can see out of that is surrounded by mountains; it's the best of both worlds! Also involves farming, which I really missed when I was gone from the farm.
Biggest problem is missing the people that inhabited both former communities...

I loved seeing you two together. It actually makes it so real and makes us country “boyz” back up in respect for your hubby and you and lay off the cat whistling of sort. YT can be so impersonal that it’s too easy at times to focus just on the surface (which is very nice in your case) but these kinds of deeper personal videos, now that you have us hooked, makes it real.
Respect and country love from Minnesota!

So I’m from eastern Oklahoma. I moved to west Texas for 4 years of my life. I experienced the opposite of what you describe with Kansas vs Ft. Worth. I felt exposed and vulnerable out there. I hated that I could see for miles and there was no trees or hills. Worst of all I hated the wind blowing nonstop with nothing to block it. However, in my time there I grew to appreciate it for what it was. It’s still one of the ugliest places in the USA but it is an important part of the USA from an oil and gas production standpoint. I met a lot of really good people there that I still communicate with to this day. I too moved there for a mate. That part didn’t work out, but I find myself missing it from time to time. It has a certain charm that only west Texas can provide. It’s good to be home again in Eastern Oklahoma though! Thanks for your content! Keep up the hard work!

Thanks for sharing how everything happened. That's what I believe everyone was wanting to hear. Life stories are very interesting to me. Speaking of isolation, that makes you depend on each other more which is good for both of you. I was raised on a small farm in Va. and wanted to get away but the older I got the more I wanted to go back to that life style. Ended up 18 miles from where I was raised and now own the homeplace and farm small time with my grandson. Congratulations to both of you. Keep up the videos.

From accounting, operating combines, tractors, driving school bus, She did it all. And raised our son and daughter. Came to depend on her for so much.
She was 5'0", 5'1" if she was mad at something (may or may have been me,,,occasionally.)

Do not change a thing about you, if you talk a lot according to some people, let them be. You're the one in front of the camera. How are we to get to know you and enjoy the time with you if you don't act normal. Love you like a daughter, you are one beautiful soul and by the 4.5 million people who take the time to view your posts, I'd say you are filling a need. People from all over feel connected to you because you are genuine and speak from your heart. Losing someone, to me is like a huge burning hole right through our souls. As time goes by, the burning subsides and the hole closes some, but always remains. Life however is like a quilt, made up of patches of people who come into your life and bind you together to make a family, friends, and the people they bring with them. When you lose one of those patches, the other patches become closer and the quilt gets a little smaller… You two are young and still building your quilts! Let God be the thread that binds your quilts so that it can only be made smaller by loss, not the unraveling of worldly wear and tear.

Her grief was everything you experienced, I'm sure. It was over a year before he was found, so you can imagine that heartache. You 2 are so lucky. As time goes on you will appreciate your life choices even more. It's great that you each have some 'city' life to compare to because that will help you overcome the 'what if's'.
Life generally is not easy but when you live life by contributing to your own existence (creating something tangible) instead of 'pushing paper' or 'climbing the corporate ladder', when you look back years from now you will appreciate the decisions you've made. You are living a life where having a 'partner' means something...continue to recognize that....treat each other well and never give up on it. I wish you all the best.

7 days ago 6k. Today 23.6k. America desperately needs a dose of real salt of the earth normal to balance out the craziness its in. Thank you for who you are, what you do and show. Your smile is enough to smooth my rough edges as does my wife when she is here. She takes care of her 95 year old father and lives with him full time. Cherish that which you have and get. Remembering is always good. But hope for the future is the only way to keep going. Thx for sharing.

That us an incredible love story. I could actually see it made into movie. A beautiful young wife experiences such a tragedy, thinks she'll never find a love again. And through choices and and a chance meeting, discovers a whole a new life and a man who gets her. One could that her deceased husband did not go through life a "crazy cat lady" and found Zack for you so you could have a joyful life! 😊❤

When you talked about visiting the parents in Texas, hubby talked of the virtual claustrophobia of the trees and hills. I know exactly how you felt. I’m from regional Queensland in Australia where the countryside is burned dry by the hot sun so green grass and broadleaf trees are just not about. My first trip to New Zealand where everything is lush and green and hilly had me homesick almost immediately for the flat dry sunburnt land. Two weeks in New Zealand was almost torture that first time. I’m glad to say I outgrew that first reaction and have since enjoyed my subsequent visits to New Zealand. The other mind blowing experience was my first visit to Hong Kong. Having lived all my life where average population was less than 1 person per square mile, landing in tiny Hong Kong (where the airport was in the middle of he city) where average population was over 750 persons per square mile, I was super claustrophobic. Don’t get me wrong, I grew to love my two week work trips there but it was a shock the first time! But isn’t that what those experiences give us to enjoy and grow from?😊

Agree! Not too much talking--- not for listeners like me. How do you relate?
My wife and I met the year we both turned 26. We dreamed of living on a farm, so that she could grow a garden, and I could build a woodworking business serving the Urban area 50 miles, or so, away.
I believe that greater forces put us together. I have ample evidence at my age of 71. We have suffered many catastrophes created by the modern world's demand for control and the lack of appreciation for people like these two.

I grew up on a dairy and grain farm in Manitoba, so I don't intuitively grasp what a transition from city to farm is like. We farmer types think our lifestyle is just normal, so are baffled that people could be freaked out about leaving the city. We had city relatives who turned up their noses at drinking raw milk. I love hearing your joy in the transition to farm life. Finally, someone gets it!
Manitoba is at least as flat as Kansas, though we may have more trees. In 1992 I drove a CaseIH 1680 for a custom harvester. We started in Frederick, OK in May, and finished in Veregin, SK in October. The biggest factory headers were 30', and some custom outfits were running 36' aftermarket draper headers. We had 3 combines, and a JD4450 on a 650bu grain cart (a 4450 is too small, even for 650bu). No one on our crew was under as much pressure as the grain cart driver. When the boss (on the lead combine) is impatient and short-tempered, the language on the 2-way radio can be very colourful. (Jim! For f**k's sake, get that cart over here! My tank is full!) 🤯
In Kansas we combined around Bucklin, Scott City, and St. Francis.
Neufeld Bros. from Inman, KS (JD 9600s) were a bigger outfit, as was Ray Taylor (CaseIH 1680s) from Lethbridge, AB.
Keep up the charming and delightful content. Don't lose your warm, approachable style.

Thank you for this video!! I am a new subscriber within the last few days and it is nice to hear how you both met. I have been watching your grief videos because I lost my mom 5 years ago at age 54. My mom grew up a farm girl but moved to the city with my dad so she always felt out of place. I am 37 and married and I always thought my mom would there for me while my kids grew up. I have two daughters and my oldest is 20 and my youngest is 6. I cried so hard when my oldest graduated high school because I know my mom would be so proud of her. My oldest daughter was the first grandchild so my mom loved her so much and loved being a grandma and my youngest was only 1 when my mom died so it has been hard explaining my mom to her since she didn't get to know her. Anyway I would love to work with my husband someday. My husband and I do everything together and have so much fun with each other. You both have a special bond!! I hope you always have that bond and keep the communication open always!! 💕

Really enjoyed your blog today about how ya's met and all the changes that came about in your lives. Keep up the good work and positive attitude. I can't believe I sat through that whole videos. Your personality is magnetic and the lifestyle can't be beat. I've been involved in farming most of my life from dairy as a kid to beef/crop as an adult. I started my own farm in oklahoma with an initial 5 acre piece of cornfield and built it up to a 1300 acre crop operation in addition to raising fullblood limousin cattle and managed to do it debt free. It was a LOT of hard work but I'm glad I did it and even more glad I lived long enough to retire from it. Wish you folks all the best!

Wow, @Jojonico01 - thank you both for sharing your stories of meeting/dating/'relationing'... It appears to be serendipity at least - and perhaps providence - that you even met under those rural circumstances - and then to be compatible, as well! Very blessed, indeed! I saw your channel in my feed maybe an hour ago and gave it a whirl; I am addicted to your natural/internal joy! Your videos lift my spirits, AND they remind this suburban boy of my time growing up visiting and working summers on my aunts and uncles farms in southern Minnesota. So. Many. Wonderful. Memories. Of. Farm. Life. Today, this chapter of your lives have you working on a farm. Tomorrow, who knows. But keep things simple, not too fast, full of wonder, gratitude, and joy! Thanks for sharing your experiences. CMA ~
