My grandpa would have cried watching this he used to be an engineer back in the 1950s and 60s and he worked on the railroad for nearly 40 years before he retired when i was a kid he would tell me storys of how he loved to make kids smile when they asked him to blow the whistle he would have been 96 years old this year but he passed away when i was 9 back in 2011 hes the reason i love trains and i always will to remember him
This is basically what trains from the past would sound like today, EVEN AT SPEED with some footage being in a higher resolution than some others! You did a great job with the audio!
From GB - fantastic filming. Love the Daylight 4-8-4s, the cab forwards and Big Boy shots in particular. The Big Boy colour run pasts are taken, I think, from a UP promotional film which I've seen here on youtube; the SP freight loaded with hoboes may be from a professional film, judging from the camera angles. And really loved that old UP Consol or tenwheeler that wandered past.
something that the SP did was on one of their non-streamlined (no skyline casing) P-8s or P-10s, they put an air horn in between the numberboards on the front of the engine.
1) It’s spelt CAB forward, not CAN forward. 2) It’s not a Daylight train. That was an ordinary steam powered commuter train from the 1940s. 3) The whistle was from P-8 class 4-6-2 #2475, one of #2472’s sister engines. I can’t tell you where I got them from so that way I can hopefully avoid being raided by anyone asking “where did you get this from?”
@@T128Productions I want to apologize. My autistic son uses my account for videos. So it’s him with big emotions. I know it’s not an excuse, but ignore him please
That was a D&RGW M-68 class 4-8-4 Northern type steam locomotive. Unlike various northerns we currently have (UP 844, SP 4449, MILW 261, ATSF 3751, etc.) the ones on the D&RGW were all scrapped and therefore no longer exist, which is unfortunate.

Thanks for sharing! And btw, that was a UP ten wheeler at 2:06.
This is wonderful! Especially those SP clips! This gives more life to silent railroad films.
Many thanks!
This video is amazing! It reminds me of my series NdeM trains with sfx, good job!
Thanks for your reply!
Nice job. Those sound effects almost seem to match the film.
0:33 the southern pacific P-8 went brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
2:18 2:48 and 5:18 I don't know how you do it, but these dubs of the Southern Pacific MT mountains sound incredible!

Yeah I saw some of those videos before, but I decided not to include them in this video.
As technology advances the better audio quality we can get out of these old films
Just like a successful science experiment, like vinegar and baking soda.
Stunning job!
Thanks!
Is this whay my great grandpa got to listen to when he was young? He's so lucky
amazing video!
Thanks man!
Nostalgia of the southern and union pacific railroad
You said it dude. Nothing but good old nostalgia.
DAMN, Where do you even get these sound effects from?!
At this point I forgot most of them.
Broke the 5 nutshell streak.
Shut up.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@fatimahd4832 What’s so funny?
@@T128Productions idk🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow great 😃
Thanks!
2:17 imagine seeing this when walking in private property, thats super bad
Yeah, it’s better to watch from the distance, but not when you’re in close proximity of the locomotive’s front end.
If you can, do daylight colors by Sunday river productions
So when are you planning to release trainz whistle and horn pack 14
Eventually.
I hope you people realize that these take a lot of time to make
@@T128Productions If the leftovers of Pack 13 make it then I’d be happy.
@kaseyleitchnextgen3281 And there it is again.

Think u could do one for the New York Central?
Yeah maybe.
What about Northern Pacific? I'd love to see some dubbed (and colorized) Northern Pacific steam footage.
@AnimalsVehiclesAndMore Colorized or not, I can guarantee that it will certainly be worth the wait.
Can you maybe do one of these for the Norfolk and Western?
Eventually.
Rip cab forward and mt-4 at least we have sp cab forward 4294
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You’re not making 475 yet
No forcing him, he do what he wants
I swear if I see one more 475 comment I will NEVER post a nutshell featuring the 4-8-0!
@CoreythelordoftheIsles Thank you Corey, I knew that someone like you can understand what I have to go through.
