Idk how I missed this question but the order I do is similar to this except sometimes I do base/build powder first, then base/color powder x2, followed by base/build powder again. And use activator again after filing.

Here’s a Tip will definitely help and it will make the color pop. And you can always file it down if it looks too thick.

Can I use build powder by it self if I just want a clear nail?
Yes. I do it when I’m I decided on a color. But I recommend applying at least 3 layers to prevent it from chipping or cracking.

I use build powder to strengthen my nail but then use gel polish on top.
Thank you Nailboos instructions say to use the build powder first…. But I’d rather not have it too thick
It's not required. You can skip it. But I would recommend using it with glitter and white powders.
does it matter if you use the build powder before or after color?
No it doesn’t matter unless you’re using glitter then it must be applied after.
