    Just wanted to put a comment up about how much this video helped me pluck up the courage to finally do this...It was surprisingly easier than I had made this out to be !
    My temps were 95-99 degrees whilst playing heavily modded Skyrim ..... After doing this I can play the same game at average of 83 degrees !!
    Thankyou Sir !!!!

    • @GardenYogi

      use a good quality thermal paste next time, it will further reduce the temp. to 75-80 degree

      Yes, I checked it (2 times...)

      If you don’t want to open the laptop, buy a can of air duster and carefully blow all the dust off of the fans from through the vents on the side and bottom of the laptop. That should make it run so much better.
      Also, the laptop should have come with a program called PredatorSense. Open that and turn Coolsense on. That allows the fans to go to a faster speed. Turn the fans to max speed while gaming. It can be kind of loud, but it works wonders.

    • @GardenYogi
      @GardenYogi  4 роки тому +4

      I have cleaned the heat sink and processor off camera.
      There are many different ways to apply thermal paste.
      In this method, I have applied a very small amount of paste which will spread automatically by the presser from the sink.
      Some people prefer the other method in which they have to spread the thermal paste by themself.

    • @Raylightsen
      @Raylightsen 4 роки тому

      Don't spread it. That won't fill the gap between the heat sink and the plate. and the heat won't dissipate well. and it'll fry the motherboard.

    hey, everyone be warned - after I did this the battery shows fully charged but it doesn't work! Your laptop won't start without a charger after you do this. According to the OP - you need to push the battery reset button for 5 seconds before tear down. I did not do this. Now my laptop battery appears to be dead (showing fully charged) and it won't start unless its plugged in.
    I've found a comment thread from OP and read extensive guides, but basically, it appears the options are to:
    - Reset battery with the button for 10 seconds
    - Wait 5 minutes
    - Open the laptop again
    - Unplug battery
    - Unplug CMOS
    now put it together and it should work. I did that and had no luck, still only works when plugged in.
    This however did not fix the issue and I still have no battery sadly.

      5. Unplug cmos
      6. Put it together, plug in the cable.
