Theres a way to buy it for free. It's a cheat. Wait till the Steward (of any hold) is in bed, buy the home and before they finish talking, back out of the conversation as fast as you can, and go to the nearest cupboard and store all your gold, back out of that and wait till they finish talking, the house is then yours, and go back and retrieve your gold. You can do this with decorating too. You have to have the amount of gold they're asking for though, that's the thing. I reccomend quick saving in case it doesnt work the first few times. Theres a video on it as well. I'm not sure if it's the same as for this homestead, I've never tried
Is there a way to get my follower NPCs to recognize this as my home. It is currently the only home I have. I asked Lydia and Recorder that we need part ways, they started headed off to the place I initially got them. Normally, these NPCs would just stay here, or whatever place you made a home.
