Was sat in my car 4 weeks ago, thinking how there's not much left in life to hope for at 39 after breaking off a long bad relationship with my partner and his kids, losing 2 jobs, failing health and building depression. This song inspired me to call someone from my past who I met only once but never forgot. I always held him as the epitome of the perfect man and felt he was way out of my league. I thought screw it, it takes courage to not be the same. I called, turned out he was newly single too. 4 dates later... Thank you DoD.

I was just about to quote the same part. I think these lyrics are really good especially for a random punk-emo-rock band. (Or whatever genre you want to call it) I never heard of them until today, but they're defanitly memorable! Those voices and the lyrics are so genuine and original.

I tried to come back here so hard. Found this song when I was at my lowest (or to the way down) and it lifted my spirits everytime I listend to it. Years later, I was only able to remember that there were these amazing scenes where the sun would hit the piano with rays of pure gold, two ghosts in a black & a white gown and the line "are you on your own again?" - man, it took some time to find your song again, but I'm glad I'm back. I missed this feeling so much 🖤

This song is so inspirational, I always come back to it when I want to remember that after all life's worth living. I think it has a great message for those people who suffer depression.
This song is like a hug for your heart
It just makes me cry, since it always reminds me of someone I've lost contact with a long time ago. This was one of the songs that kept them alive. But perhaps the tears are of happiness, since I know they'll be safe despite being alone.

This is the perfect song when you find yourself going from tears to rage, to tears... to rage... and finally.... just.....nothing. Neither end of the spectrum is enjoyable, but as humans a part of us withers and dies if we cannot find a way to master both extremes. It helps.... to know you're not alone.

I for some reason always find my way back to this song. I've done a lot of growing and learning from the very first time I heard this song. I used to be very lost in this world, much like others and the older I get the more things start to make sense and I can listen to this song and laugh about the past. What I get out of this is don’t loose your heart no matter what you. Already remember who you are and never loose yourself and your sanity again.

I remember that when I first listened to this I was still fighting depression and anxiety. This song almost made me tear up back then.
This song still make me feel a lot, but in another way... It's crazy how much has changed throughout the past 1 1/2 years, the past year, months etc. I'm not depressed anymore, much less anxious (although it still happens) and more confident. I feel like I'm on the right path in life - "Don't lose your heart, till you're where you wanna be", is worth it!

Stumbled upon this after listening to inspirational and meditative self-care poems, philosophy & an indigenous morning prayer in between multiple consecutive shifts as an essential healthcare worker & nursing student-a career change post social justice & environmental organizing in my youth-during the Covid-19 pandemic. My soulmate walked on from a rare cancer when we were 24 & 26 years old and in his dying words he told me that I must live on because there are so few spirits like mine, who so deeply love the earth and all the living beings within it. My destiny remains to make this world a better place for all who live within it and those as yet to come. I had to see to it that others would not suffer as we did. He would be beside me always, as a warrior angel on the other side-both of us forces of good and universal, eternal love, hope and compassion. I often feel song choices I hear or are drawn to are him speaking through the music in times of darkness... For he told me, no matter how hard life gets, for it will be hard and sometimes I will feel like I cannot go on, that I must, because the world needs people like me-the healers, the dreamers, the lovers-those who have 1 foot planted on the earth while still connected to the eternal spirit world. I just love how, 33 years after being born, I still find songs that really speak to me, this being to one.
