Got mine in the mail yesterday. Great quality and looks good! The best part is my initials are M.S. So it makes me feel like I'm that much more of a Spirited Man.
Having grown up on the East coast in the 80’s, the diner was our home away from home. Thanx for the ride, Van, really enjoyed it! “Ventura Highway in the sunshine. Where the days are longer. The nights are stronger than moonshine. You’re gonna go, I know”
I love this video - there's a sense that you've departed a little from the recent formula - not in a a bad way, and maybe due to circumstances. But I really love what's going on in this film. thanks.
This Spirited man does the same thing as Van. Writing or engraving torque setting 0:31 or more often wrench size 1:31 next to the bolt on the product. Massive time saver.
I don’t rewatch UA-cam videos NEVER 👎 but I have rewatched some of yours I find them fascinating the thought process the care the attention to detail and details not chosen to be attended to
This video feels like the essence of both living in the moment and reminiscing about the past to me. It has something extremely meditative and relaxing about it, yet it's extremely entertaining to me. Great video!
Van, This video is amazing. Your “Bad Week” simple video is exactly what we’re all here for. Your cameras falling over, and mundane chores are exactly why I watch for some reason. Your honesty. Thank you. My life keeps getting more functional and organized thanks to these videos. I feel more normal thanks to you… or more comfortable with my uniqueness.
Thanks for this. For some reason, people don’t talk about bad weeks, bad days or bad moments. It’s almost cliche in today’s society. I’m waiting for lab results to find out if I have a rare blood cancer and it’s been a challenge. I have the mindset that it is what it is and I am blessed no matter what, but there are still hard days and a constant weight in my chest. I ordered the Die Trying hoodie and will wear it with pride. Keep doing what you do.
Yeah you know, I was just thinking about the diner near my apartment back in NYC. It was a greek diner. The front was filled with fresh baked cakes and cookies. I always went for the breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage and homefries. With black coffee and a few slices of buttered toast. I live out of US now so , yeah no greek diners. I always think back how happy it was just to eat breakfast inside that diner.
It's like I went to high school with this guy and I just now rediscovered him after only hearing about him randomly over the years.... Like... I ran into him in a diner kinda thing. I don't know what this channel is... But I freaking love it....... What a cool dude....
@@MarcusTDM never use a torque wrench to undo fasteners. Period. Ever. Not a matter of stripping anything it’s about screwing up the calibration of the tool.
@@jeremyproctor9671 Just for the record, I wouldn’t use one to do this as decent torque wrenches cost a lot of money, but i perhaps he doesn’t care to much!
I laughed when you explained who Eric Burden is, I forget there are young people watching this. 🤣 Your story telling along with the bike ride made this a great video to watch, actually I'm going to watch it again because it was that entertaining 👍😎👍
@@helpfulcommenter That was my thought. It took me a few seconds to get them straight. He was just talking about Chris Burden recently, wants to buy his property.
I don't know who Eric Burden is and I'm 54 years old, lived in America all my life. But I do know the song very well. condescending, "type before you think" comments are the forgetful easy parts.
Having just come home from one of the worst nights of work in a long time. I have to say thank you Van. I feel like I was with you on that ride. I don't know if you even read the comments section but this video made a terrible night end better. Thanks.
That was so meditative. Just what I needed. It's been a stressful period in my life, and now I miss my motorcycle. Those moments going out without a plan and just getting lost on the bike were magical.
I have subscribed ever since Casey had a video about you. I have seen every video you have graced us with. When I watch I always feel like a way cooler and smarter friend is visiting me and sharing his adventures. Keep sharing friend.

Great work Van, I’m an east coast guy of a similar age and Diner’s hold that same place in my heart. I’ve ridden the PCH, for me it was the universe cancelling my flight due to a snow storm. That of course means heading strait to the nearest motorcycle rental shop and riding up and down the PCH for two days in January. Fortunately I’m from Maine so January on the coast of California feels like spring in Maine. Good memories made.
More, more of this! This was fantastic. Can we just get cool visuals like this while Van tells us stories? This and the podcast build episode are just perfect.
Thank you for uploading this. You are a great storyteller. Sorry for the terrible week, I hope things got better. I enjoyed listening to the stories as we went on a virtual motorcycle ride.
I gotta get another bike soon, I miss it so much. Sold mine about a year ago. Clears the head and soothes the soul being open to the wind, connected to the road and alone with your thoughts. And then the insane acceleration brings a smile every time I go WOT and rip through the gears. Sometimes even an audible laugh.
The Angeles Crest Highway was my vice of choice for the past six years, my daily commute to work until Covid. The morning drive was always a moment of zen during the climb over the mountain pass and into Los Angeles. Often, the Spirited Man motorcycle diaries remind me of these meditative moments that I always experienced but could never do them justice by explaining them to someone else. Your videos, but most importantly the voiceover narration, always remind me of these drives and the ideas I got to explore before I had to step back into the real world and tackle the grind. Thank you for another great episode!

Best looking merch yet for sure💯
Van- do you do much with other people or are you mostly in your head?
Van- I think a percentage of people relate to you because they are also living life in their own short story-keep on

What an incredible peace of art

Man, this episode was like poetry. The best kind.
Three thumbs up.
The spirited man should never use a torque wrench to loosen nuts. The torque wrench is a calibrated tool for precise tightening of fasteners only.
my thoughts well written , I'm a mechanic I cringed
Unless you are worried about stripping the threads then using a torque wrench to undo would be a good idea!
