    In Brazil, buildings that have a sidewalk in front of the garage door are required to put some flashing lights to warn pedestrians. So, when the garage door opens, the lights turn on. Because of this idea, people also put flashing lights if the door ends directly onto the street, so cars can slow down. It's not required, but it is smart.

      @Scott Stephens Speedbumps on a 35 mph road? There are no speedbumps designed for that speed, not to mention it slows respond times for first responds and makes it difficult for ambulance crews to work while on the move. And it also creates more noise, especially heavy vehicles.

    We solved blind driveways in Northern Virginia with large mirrors too. The few we used I eye balled it. Our Toyota has radar and a camera. That covers most situations or all considering we haven’t hit or been hit. My wife was hit in our previous conveyance and they didn’t stop to talk about it.

    If someone locks their brakes/skids/causes an accident on account of those lights, you could be held liable for causing a dangerous condition. And it would be justified. Not sure why you don't understand how mirrors work but maybe rethink that option.

      Justified.. how exactly?

    • @BixbyConsequence
      @BixbyConsequence 3 роки тому +1

      @@izvr You could see that as soon as he activated the lights to test, a driver slammed on their brakes and nearly swerved across the median. It's an accident waiting to happen. Not to mention that the lights are likely using colors reserved by law for emergency vehicles (hence the gray-out in the video). The local cops may be giving him a pass, but any accident victims will surely not be as forgiving.

      @@BixbyConsequence Yeah no, I got your point about the possible accidents, but what can anyone (besides from law enforcement) do? He's just toggling some lights on and off on his property, in essence you could make the same point about someone's christmas lights

    As cool as this video is, I just hate the fact that there’s going to be someone who is going to report this, or police won’t understand what you’re trying to achieve with all this, even if you explain it to them or show them the video. Which sucks. But this is the world we live in. It’s just a matter of time until someone will call the law enforcement on this. Awesome idea, it’s just not a good idea to put it up on UA-cam, in my opinion.

    Mate, I have an idea. What you need to do is get a big led sign which reads 'Car currently backing out of the driveway ahead, please slow down.' You put two of these signs up on the road far enough from your driveway for people to see them, one in each direction. Then you wire them to your remote, and you can illuminate your signs each time you pull in and out. This way they will see you earlier.
