Defensive operations and exposure protection on 3rd street

On June 4th, 2021 at approximately 5 pm, Modesto, Ceres, and Stanislaus Consolidated units were dispatched to a working structure fire on 3rd street near downtown Modesto. Engine 2 encountered heavy fire showing from the front of a two-story, single-family craftsman style home. A defensive (exterior) operation was initiated and exposure protection was the priority. Crews were able to keep the fire to the building of origin, saving the adjacent homes.
