Love these superhorses especially mares. They are one of a kind. Sad to see them retire after a colorful career. But all good things must end. For new records and new careers to blossom. Love them all.
She's so unique. The biomechanics of her gait makes it like she floats and glides on the turf once she begins to pick up her tempo. Reminds me of Asafa Powell from track and field. Really miss Winx.
Ken, everyone would have liked that. But they came up with the lame excuse that the Queen Anne wasn't a strong enough race to make the trip worthwhile. Well she could have run in the Prince of Wales. She's won 4 Cox Plates, 3 Queen Elizabeth's all over 2000m and 3 other 2000m group ones so there's no reason she couldn't have run in the 10f PoW instead of the Queen Anne. Didn't even have the decency to give Highland Reel a rematch in 2017. Could have taken on Poets Word and Cracksman in 2018.
With my job I can only listen to the radio on these special days, but with Darren's talent I'm there. If anyone ever asks about FIFO make sure you have the 4 in 4 out.

International horses came to her though, and analysis of her performances compared to performances by horses in other countries in comparable races put her as the best racehorse in the world for three consecutive years.
K NZ Winx never went up against one of the top 30 rated horses in the world who was not based in Australia. The only horse she raced against in the top thirty during her career based in Australia. was Happy Clapper. The Autumn Sun was rated within the top 30 however given he was a stable mate Waller and connections fixed that job. She also raced against Benbatl and Highland Reel, also top 30 rated horse (however not based in AUS obviously). However Benbatl after traveling to the other side of the world, was underweight when he raced against her (not totally healthy or at his full potential) and has never won a Group one in Britain, France or Ireland, but did win a very weak Group one in Germany. Winx beat him by merely a length. When she raced Highland Reel she raced him in his second worst season of his career, behind his 2yo season. Now you are free to claim that is satisfactory. However anyone who acknowledges facts, cannot refute that she, meaning Winx, did not raced against the best in her generation. She didn't even come close to doing so.
To quote "field of dreams" build it and they will come, they didn't .Prizemoney alone bar the g1 races is an open invitation to knock her over, they didn't. ask any trainer why ? Australian horses are no where near as good as English and Irish horses. Winx was a class mare but even his own trainer admited that the class of horses are better in England. Winx ran once in england against an average field and won by a length and a half. Frankel was the best horse iv ever seen period.
Ratings are nothing just because a horse has a higher rating does not mean he or she are the better animal. If I was to back horses on ratings I'd have no trousers on me.

No one stopped any European coming to Australua to cgallenge Winx. All this arrogant crap from Europe about how she didn't race there. The onus was on European horses to come and take on Winx. Aidan O'Brien brought horses and tried, but got beaten.

Coolmore, Godolphin and others and Japanese stables all sent horses halfway around the world to race her. About 8 or 10 horses from overseas did go out there and race her. But Winxs connections never had the respect and manners to do those overseas connections the honour of a rematch on their home turf. Highland Reel and Benbatl travelled halfway round the world and took her on in her own backyard with all the odds stacked in her favour. In 2017 when Winx was at her peak Highland Reel ran over 10f at Royal Ascot, where was Winx? Why didn't her owners return the favour to Highland Reel and give him a chance for a rematch on his home turf? Or even in the USA on neutral ground. Nuh Uh! If you took her on in her own backyard don't expect to get a rematch unless it was 100% on her terms where she had all the advantages and everything was stacked in her favour. Pretty poor really. Especially as the Japanese and Coolmore and Godolphin horses from overseas have been propping up your big carnivals for the past ten years. Highland Reel especially should have been given that respect after he travelled to race her. So did Japanese owners and trainers. The horses didn't go to stud in Australia after those runs, they came back and continued racing. Why didn't Winxs connections respect and honour that very sporting and costly exercise by those people and give any of those horses or connections the possibility of a rematch on their home turf or on neutral territory? Four or five times overseas horse came to race her but Waller et al weren't sporting or decent enough to repay that gesture once. And she raced at the top for four years!!! I loved both Winx and Black Caviar. Brilliant, amazing horses. One a sprinter, the other a middle distance. Apples and oranges

It’s been over 160 years since a horse won 33 in a row, Kincsem from Hungry won 54 so may be another 160+ years before it happens again
