Your excellent wrap up of Time of the Flies will undoubtedly earn it some more readers. I'm looking forward to your discussion of Leonard and Hungry Paul when you and Allen are finished reading!
Thanks, Angelia. Ultimately, I really enjoyed the combination of All Yours and Time of the Flies. I'm less thrilled so far with Thursday Night Widows, but it's growing on me. I'm going to try to finish Leonard and Hungry Paul today. What a sweet novel! Hope your trip went as well as it could go and that you were able to accomplish everything you needed to do.
The Life Impossible sounds like one I would enjoy. I haven't read The Midnight Library because so many people seemed to not like it. Perhaps I'll give it a try if I like Life Impossible.
Hi Kelly. I liked Midnight Library but didn't love it. I think The Life Impossible came to me at the right time. My book group consists of a lot of retired teachers, so I think we all could identify to some degree with the main character, Grace. I just liked the theme of second chances and a new lease on life. Matt Haig isn't for everyone, and some find him to be too sweet, but I'm finding him to be more uplifting than anything else.
Thanks for the lovely shout-out, Pat, and for showing off my books. I'm really grateful for your friendship as well and I'm going to return the poetry favor by harassing you until you write a novel based on your wild Ireland experience. Or at least a poem! 🌞
What a wonderful gift! I must visit Haworth one day. I’ve enjoyed hearing everyone in your group talk about the Claudia Pineiro books - I must try her books one day!
I just love this little edition of Emily's poetry. Gavin did a brilliant video from his trip. If you ever want to jump in to join us for any of the Pineiro novels, you are more than welcome. We have people who are going to come in and out of the group. I'll let you know what's coming up if you're interested. But no pressure ever....
Such fun gifts, and uniquely personal to you. Yet another stellar reading week, with thoughtful, in-depth reviews. I always appreciate how you not only describe the books you’ve read but also share how the reading experience affected you. And it sounds like L&HP is working its magic! 😊
What a fabulous wrap up Pat. The Pineiro Project has produced some of the most interesting discussions I’ve ever been involved with on BookTube. What a fabulous group it is. And what beautiful gifts from Gavin and Troy, how lovely of them to send them. A great video as usual my friend 😊
I have only read Elena Knows by Claudia Pinero and although I would not really classify it as a mystery, I did enjoy it. Now, after following your videos I am eager to read more from her. Btw, I was able to get a copy of The Big Book of Christmas Mysteries. What a great book that also doubles as weight training! 😄
@@nonisnest9718 oh you’re so right: those Otto Pensler Big Books provide quite a workout! I’m really enjoying these Claudia Pineiro books. If you decide to read All Yours, you should definitely follow it up with Time of the Flies.
Hi Pat, I don’t think I’m going to pick up this Matt Haig book, I’m reading a book that has only a little magical realism and it’s starting to get on my nerves😅 I did like some of his other books though mostly the non-fiction ones. I think I will start a Claudia Piñero project of my own next year. I’ve only read Elena knows, but I found out. She also writes a lot of mystery novels, which is my thing as you might know. I hope your holiday season is going well and I make sure to ring the bell so I can get notified when your videos come out. I’ve had to search them out the last couple of weeks. Aloha friend.
Hi Marilyn. You will definitely like Claudia Pineiro's other books. Our little group is on our third novel of hers now, but we are going to read all that have been translated into English. We do have two people in the group who are reading her in Spanish. If you'd like to join us for any particular novel, you are most welcome! I hope you are doing well, my friend.
You are lucky to receive such lovely gifts. I'm glad you had a good reading week. I still have lots I want to fit in before the end of the month and we are running out of month, the way it is flying by!
I was not a big fan of The Midnight Library and didn't plan to read another Matt Haig any time soon, but you may have convinced me … Leonard and Hungry Paul is one of my very favorite reads from this past year. Or was it last year? Either way, I loved it!
@@Nina_DP I liked Life Impossible better than Midnight Library. I just really like Grace, the main character. I’m halfway done with L&HP, and about to get back to it now. 😊
@@vickicoleman2474 thank you, my friend. It’s a lovely book. I think sometimes people find Matt Haig to be maybe a little too sentimental. I don’t experience his books that way at all.
