- Riding balance lines on a mountain bike is not a matter of luck - it is a technique that can be learned. Five elements make up the basics of riding skinny lines - and you can learn them just about anywhere: curbs, logs, or even a portable balance beam.

Always been just OK with my balance, I practice on skinnies when I can but I'm still just OK. The tips about using the hips/knees to help with balance as well as dropping a pedal to lower CG are new to me, looking forward to trying it out and seeing what happens.
Your video the other day about riding backwards and how that is huge for track stands made me go out and practice riding backwards for a bit and wouldn't you know it, track stands just clicked for me that day.
So awesome!! I hope this videos helps as much as the last one did!
Thanks brother. Your videos are a great help and I always look forward to them. Have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks so much! Have fun! 🤘
Nice bike
Thank you!!
Here in my place the snow went off (I believe till winter) for good about 2 weeks ago. It has done it already once at February for sure and couple times later. So when It got possible I started to try to ride at almost every curb I found at my way. Except some: the once too high (when I can't put my feet on the ground without hitting my crotch) or too narrow (I have a couple about the width of 2.5 inch wheel).
And here is my notices. 1. I don't ride at them. Maybe it's a problem, but looks much harder to me. Instead I try to do a little front pivot to put my back wheel at curb and then move the front one. Thus I start my movement at a curb. 2. It's much easier to have higher ground under my back foot, so I can stand on that one. While I have the main one on a pedal. Do you think I should try standing on a pedal with each foot down or better get some skill with one before? 3. When I ride to my job I go downhill, but I kinda sleepy so I can't do much. But starting you movement on a curb going uphill is much harder. 8-)
I guess it depends on how the skill best plays into your other riding. It’s definitely useful to be able to ride at a curb and then lift your wheels onto it, but in most other styles of riding, there might be a balance line (or a log, etc) in front of you where you’ll need the technique to roll onto it. But however you can start and work on the technique, that’s best! 👍
I wonder if playing on a slack line (on foot) helps bike balance.
Definitely can’t hurt - slacklining helps build your core muscles, too, which comes in real handy for balance!
I have watched may of your videos, thanks for your quality content. You ride chameleon in M size, can i ask what is your height. Im 5 11 and don't know that size to take.
I’m also 5’11” - I might suggest riding a Large size frame, sometimes my medium feels a little small.
thanks, for the answer im total beginner so riding wont help me, because i don't know what to look for. I have an full suspension ebike and i would like to advanced my skills, i think ht is the way to go.
In that case I would definitely start with the large frame. Sometimes I ride a slightly smaller frame so I have extra control for tricks - but if you’re just starting out, size Large is probably your best bet.
I'm good
🙌
It's not width of skinny, it's the height off the ground!!!
True!
@@SuperRiderTV I ride the North Shore and there's some features I'm probably never going to ride because of the consequences of failure. Good video.
It is a breeze to run over a 6 m curb at a jogging pace but once I slow down to walking pace, it's a disaster !
Agreed! The one scenario that going slow makes things harder!
It's my only trials skill :(
It’s the best one to have!! 💯
Notice you use the ‘English’ bunny hop to exit the line, is this just for the purpose of this vid?
Just for this video, quick hop off when necessary!
Thanks brother. Your videos are a great help and I always look forward to them. Have a wonderful weekend!
