  • In this #shedsessions video, I run through how to fix the dreaded hot pipe leak on your NP300 Navara. With heaps of talk about hot pipe leaks on the NP300 forums I thought it would be a good idea to get a replacement CRG pipe onto my Nav before it started leaking. Unfortunately, I was too late.. but i fixed it just in time to prevent things from getting any worse.

    Love your work mate, please keep it up. I have a new Pro4x Warrior and I will be fitting a new hot pipe thanks to your advice. I am also fitting a catch can, I bought a Western filters kit but was not happy with the way the hoses were routed, I messaged them with my concerns and they requested I send it back, they were great and have since modified both the bracket and the hoses. I have also recently had a dyno tune and it has really made a difference to the drivability and fuel economy, is your Nav tuned or stock?

    Worth speaking to Nissan before lashing out on the CRG. A known issue which would likely be covered under warranty (if applicable), apparently they have revised the hot pipe which is now fitted. Nevertheless, helpful for those who will be tackling this themselves.

    • @jpcaptured799
      @jpcaptured799  2 роки тому +1

      That's a really good point! Personally after asking around and doing some research it still seemed like the nissan replacement was hit and miss. I really just wanted to make sure it would never be an issue for me.

    Hi there JP, just a question, did you fit a catch can too ? As I can't see what keeps the oil away from the new plumbing when the pcv valve still dumps oil into the new pipes? Or am I wrong?

    • @lockie_builds
      @lockie_builds 2 роки тому

      One of the main reasons to not run one is manufacturers voiding warranties for a bunch of different reasons if you run one

    • @jpcaptured799
      @jpcaptured799  2 роки тому +2

      I have plans for installing a catch can purely to test the theory that nissan states causes rear main leaks. But it won't be for a few months yet.

    Oddly, not even listed under specs fort the product on their page.

  • @juanmanuelvivas6299
    @juanmanuelvivas6299 Рік тому

    Great video. But I have a concern about the CRC hot pipe, I'm confident that it won't leak anymore because it has a great seal but it is not actually resolving the situation. The turbo shouldn't leak at all, from the turbo to the intercooler only should flow air, not oil. So you won't have leak on the base of the hotpipe but the oil will travel to the interncooler and it will sit in some please

    So what's the difference from that to the factory item if you pull off a item with not very good connections and replace it with the Same style connections hows that any better and then just leak again.

    • @jpcaptured799
      @jpcaptured799  2 роки тому +4

      It's all about the internal seals, turbo side now has a double seal and the bottom seal is replaced too as I mentioned in the vid. The factory seals are the issue not so much the pipe, but the factory hot pipe does not have the seal provisions machined into it to upgrade them.
