Concept of RCC that is reinforced cement concrete is clearly explained, Concrete is very strong in compression but also concrete is very weak in tension, when the loads act on any structural element it undergoes bending, this will create 2 zones, compression zone and tension zone, as concrete is good in compression it takes care of compressive stresses and because of tensile zone there is a need of other material to take care of tensile stresses and here comes the material "STEEL" which is ductile and good enough to take tensile stresses, therefore steel is provided at the tension zone to take care of tensile stresses
