I enjoyed watching this video. I’m taking a drawing 1 course and my professor told the students to watch this video. I don’t know why because all I feel is intimidated by this. Can you suggest any of your videos that might kind of teach this style of drawing in a more basic form? Thanks!
Just a quick question: is there a reason my hard and med charcoal pencils feel like they have metal in them when I try to shade with them? They’re “Generals “.
@@janaalejandre6441 Try the Gioconda extra charcoal pencils..they are really great. Also Conté à Paris are very good charcoal pencils..I always use those 2 brands.
Did you use water on your brush to spread the charcoal? I have tried creating fog. And I've tried, by using a charcoal stick, tapping the paper lightly and using a paper towel..but it doesn't spread well. I've tried it too with a wet cloth. Works better..but then I can't erase any of it. You're an extraordinary artist.
The techniques that you use seem like they would be so much faster. I spend months shading my drawings with a regular pencil to get that gloomy effect.

I've never used those. Do you mean to say they are too hard or scratchy?
Yes.. can barely use them they’re so scratchy
I normally use the farber castille .. but found these “on sale”.

Try vine charcoal instead of compressed charcoal.
Lovely work. Well done! I wonder which paper are you using?
190gsm smooth papee Helios
Угольный белый карандаш используете?
Divno

Charcoal is much faster than graphite.
@@MiroslavSunjkic I think I'll give that a try then. Great work, btw.
