Welcome to my channel, I started woodworking with my grandfather as a young boy. I continued woodworking through high school, and started woodturning after seeing a turned project in a friends shop. Some of my fondest memories are working with my grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share our passion for woodworking, ties it all together.

A very decorative piece. I can see that this one would be popular with a lot of people. Nice gift idea. Still watching and still learning. Thanks.

I launched out in wood turning four months ago after fifty years in joinery and general woodwork. Thanks Carl for your passion and great ideas.

Very good! I didn't know where that was going so the end was a pleasant surprise. I'll have to try this after I get my workshop rearranged (again) and draught-proofed and my NEW stove put in... WOOHOO, no more -8C inside when it's -2C outside (old, solid wall building, acts like a storage heater in Summer and a fridge in Winter).
    Best Wishes, Brendan.

    Alex,
Your woodturning is great, this was just different way of interpreting the piece.
Keep up the good work! Love your videos.

    Hi,
Yes the wax and oil is for the sanding dust and I use it on all the
grits. Not on a glue up. The chuck is a Nova.
    Thanks,
    Carl

Thanks for making the video Carl. It never occured to me to do it as a glue up but it turned out very nice. Something a little different from what you normally turn. I agree with the post about the asian influence, or maybe having it staged in front of the bamboo made it seem that way.

    Hi Susan,
I'm going to do another vase this week and I will get into the details. This was my first one so it was just trial and error. Can you send me a picture of the box so I can see what type of finial to make?
