    Hi Tomislav. I am a retired, disabled Senior Master of Art in South Australia & have just stumbled, happily, on your site. I loved the crisp, clean workmanship & the obvious sharpness of your tools. I thought that the shape was very pleasing & the inlay work, using your specially made tool, was excellent. Cheers, Don from South Aust.

    Those lines were a lot of work, but the crispness makes the effort worthwhile.

    Heh, that's a different take on it than the other three! Lovely and interesting work on the inlay, though I wonder if the veneer might not show up to greater advantage laying flat. Thanks for another interesting, educational and entertaining video.

    This was an interesting 4 ways project and it has been quite enjoyable watching how each of you addressed the project. Very interesting use of the veneer, the effect is quite nice. Nice, elegant piece with just the right amount of decoration. Your's is the third I've watched, now off to see what Richard Raffan has done with this project. Thanks again to all of you for doing these monthly projects.

    Quite nice Tomislav! Enjoyed the turning! One little technical question: with the three in one what size of hole do you drill? My attempts were not very successful yet, either too large or too small for a good fit.

    • @tomislavtomasicwoodturning
      @tomislavtomasicwoodturning  3 місяці тому +1

      Thank you Alain, I drill for softer woods 7,5mm and for harder 8mm like maple,oak etc.

    Hi Tomislav, this is another great video. I always watch with interest. I particularly like the way you turn beads on crossgrain(faceplate) projects. It's something I'd really like to be able to do. Do you have a video where you go through the process? I did look through the early videos but can't see anything.
    Keep up the excellent work. Thanks

    If you happen to have a moment.. As a newbie wood turner I have my first set of gouges (1/4", 3/8", 1/2". Only after I received them did I learn they are V fluted. Could you recommend what grind to put on these might serve me best?

    • @tomislavtomasicwoodturning
      @tomislavtomasicwoodturning  2 місяці тому +1

      Thank you very much sir, and wish you all the best on your woodturning journey.... For V flute gouges,40/40 grind works ok, and standard fingernail, I would not want extremely long wings on V flute

      @perrys5954 2 місяці тому

      @@tomislavtomasicwoodturning Thanks for the feedback I'll try adapt that! I am thinking of getting one 'better gouge' that isn't part of an inexpensive set. Am thinking a 5/8" Bowl Gouge (something without the V flute), does that seem like a good idea? (you've already been so kind and answered one question so no offense taken at all if you don't reply to this second one).

      @@perrys5954 no worries, have a tiny bit of time before I crack on with the work😄, its good idea as you'll see how well they hold an edge and go with parabolic flute,its will be much easier to shape the gouge profile....
      Go for the brands like Sorby, hamlet, Henry Taylor,and ofcourse Crown.... Also to consider if you have the budget to go with m42 steel.
      M42 from Crown are my favourites for gouges and there line of m2 cryogenic series which my scraper will be....both will serve you well
